Not sure a pre-season friendly really counts as breaking the Wenger-Jose streak! It does. If you say so!

I can't say it's based on too much at all (there's usually a surprise & Rowett seems like a pretty good manager to me), I'm ashamed to say I've rapidly become one of those irritating Premier League-centric fans who knows nothing about the Championship. How are things shaping up for you guys?

If you're an owner and at the bottom at Christmas, how fast are you calling Nigel Pearson to save you?

If you're an owner and at the bottom at Christmas, how fast are you calling Nigel Pearson to save you? Think you're probably calling Sam Allardyce first. Nigel Pearson is not really a quick fix (though I'm sure somebody will try), he's brilliant at building squads that have the right attitude, but he needs a summer really to be very effective. It'd be a no brainer for a Prem club in March/April though because his Championship record is superb. Just hope, for his sake, he gets a patient owner who'll give him time to clear out the egos and the selfish players at his next club or he could end up having a tough time and he really doesn't deserve that. He's got the potential to be a top manager. Ideally our owners will sell up and we'll get him back, but I'd take him getting the England job one day *fingers crossed* Still gutted he's gone, would usually be so excited for the new season but I'm completely apathetic.

I forgot about Big Sam being gone from West Ham. He's probably the first call too. Damn though, The Great Escape last year was a blast to follow. Plus I love Jamie Vardy as a player. I'm hoping you guys stick around.

How are things shaping up for you guys? They were probably the worst team I saw play us last season including Blackpool. Rowett is a hothead and I doubt he could get a team to the top end of the table without a spectacular collapse. Just my thoughts though. We've only made two signings but we've kept nearly everyone though I expect that to change in the coming weeks. We've won all of our pre-season games including Watford and Bournemouth away so on paper it looks very positive. It won't be though.

I wrote down what transfers I wanted last week, I'll dig them up and post them in a miute for you lot to praise me/rip me to shreds. In the meantime, one of those ridiculously early predictions things: 1. Chelsea 2. Manchester United 3. Manchester City 4. Arsenal 5. Tottenham 6. Liverpool 7. Stoke 8. Everton 9. Southampton 10. Crystal Palace 11. Swansea 12. Aston Villa 13. Newcastle 14. West Ham 15. Norwich 16. Watford 17. Sunderland 18. West Brom 19. AFC Bournemouth 20. Leicester City Bottom half MUCH harder than the top half. I tend to do it 'bottom up' after the top 8 judging by who is the worst rather than who is too good to go down. Spent a bit more time thinking about it and have a couple of changes: 1. Chelsea 2. Manchester United 3. Manchester City 4. Arsenal 5. Liverpool 6. Spurs 7. Stoke 8. Everton 9. Southampton 10. Crystal Palace 11. Swansea 12. Newcastle 13. West Ham 14. Norwich 15. Aston Villa 16. AFC Bournemouth 17. Sunderland 18. West Brom 19. Watford 20. Leicester City

I really want Bournemouth to stay up and up until last week I was convinced that they would but on paper they don't look like a Premier League squad. They are fantastic to watch though and I really hope that I'm wrong. They have a terrific manager too.

West Ham are sh*t, I hope they go down.
I'm not even posting this in the European thread because they don't deserve it.

Can't believe I'll be watching the Premier League by this time tomorrow. The wait is almost over! I predict a 1-1 in the opener. Do we have a prediction thread, by the way?
