That is the most clickbait site I've ever seen. no argument there, but it raises some good points. it would be nice if people were as concerned with boko haram and nigeria as they were for a transgender man that the media exploited and sensationalized.

I'm not exactly sure how our genetic code is related to our gender identity. The term gender identity refers to "a person's innate, deeply felt psychological identification as a man, woman or some other gender, which may or may not correspond to the sex assigned to them at birth" (http://www.hrc.org). Gender identity disorder (GID) or gender dysphoria is "the formal diagnosis used by psychologists and physicians to describe people who experience significant dysphoria (discontent) with the sex and gender they were assigned at birth. Evidence suggests that people who identify with a gender different from the one they were assigned at birth, may do so not just due to psychological or behavioral causes, but also biological ones related to their genetics, the makeup of their brains, or prenatal exposure to hormones" (http://en.wikipedia.org/). Gender identity is very complex. It's not as cut and dry as a DNA test would indicate. I'm not saying they are mutually exclusive, but they certainly are separate from one another. There's a reason why people undergo SRS so they can be the gender they identify with. In general... I firmly believe that this kind of thinking is the reason why the suicide rate is so high among gender dysphoric individuals. People live in shame and fear that they won't be accepted by society that they hide and keep this secret buried so deep. Using pejorative terms like "it" or phrases like "they will never be a man/woman" or "what does the dna test say" shows a lack of understanding regarding gender identity. People should not be forced to conceal their true faces and it's absolutely cruel to deny them that right. Conversely, I feel the suicide rate is so high because even after years of transformation and change, and years of assuming that transformation was the answer to all of their problems, they realize, at the end of the day, they're still attempting to be something they're not, as written in their genetic code. The depression goes way beyond societal acceptance. Yes, sure, external environment will be a factor in general acceptance, because, let's face it, we're a society of judgers, but no individual, transgender, male, female, whatever, is going to be universally liked and accepted by everyone. That ridicule is not limited to transgender people either. So you're not going to convince me of anything in blaming society for what is, clearly, an individual psychological issue. People with schizophrenia and split personality disorders believe they're other people and things. But we don't sit idly by and let those people believe whatever they want. We understand they have an issue and try and help them get better. Bruce Jenner is facilitating a mental disorder, you are facilitating a mental disorder. Instead of helping these people figure out what's actually going on inside their head, we just cry for tolerance. It's an asinine response by the general public, but it happens all the time now. Additionally, I will not be told what to call someone, especially when I'm calling them by the true definition of what they are as a species. I went through this already. You can think you're a tiger, I'm not going to growl at you. When Bruce Jenner dies, and they do an autopsy of the body, it's going to say male. Not "well, he felt like a female." I, unequivocally, think you're wrong. Regardless of that, I'm not going to tell you what to call Bruce Jenner. You're entitled to that freedom. However, Bruce Jenner will always be a male, and I will not label him under false pretenses because a mentally ill man, or a man pretending to be mentally ill, taking advantage of people for millions of dollars, wants me to acknowledge him as a woman because he threw on some makeup and dress. Does believing you're a woman, make you a real woman? Similarly, does believing you're a polar bear, make you a polar bear? What specifically makes a woman? Are women so simple that anyone can become one? Or is the genetic makeup of a woman so unique to the universe, that nothing else like them exists? Believe whatever you want, but stop trying to dictate what it is I can and can't say. Additionally, I've never used the word "it" in this argument. Bruce is a man, he, him. This. 100% top to bottom. Just like, boom.

I've nothing against any of this but how is this thread still going on? People change gender every day it doesn't make sense to make a fuss about someone for such a long time, like fair enough it's good to show your respect and support for 3 days or so and make it into POSITIVE big news but why does everyone still have to go on about it?
