I've had my Marvel Select Wolverine get involved in some WWE storylines from time to time. It kinda makes sense though because Hugh Jackman has shown up on RAW a few times.
But as far as different eras of wrestling....I typically do not mix eras. I will not use Legends or Flashbacks unless that is the ONLY figure I have of that character. For example, I used DM Hogan until I got Elite 34 Hogan.
And I will never play with figures of wrestlers who have passed away. They go in a special section of my toy room.

When I was a kid, I never crossed toy brands EVER. Marvel and DC never crossed. If it didn't belong in that universe, it did not cross with that universe. I was very strict. Jakks WWF and ToyBiz WCW never crossed either. Jakks WWF BCA line wasn't old enough to have a ton of figures who weren't with the company anymore. I think the only ones I had that weren't with the company at that point were Bret, Bulldog, Crush, and Yoko.
When I was an adult and would play with Jakks RA-style figures (because I'm weird and like to play with toys still), I didn't adhere to any generational boundaries. British Bulldog would still compete with John Cena (despite being long deceased at that point) and Bret Hart would compete with Triple H, etc. I think that was mostly because I didn't have a ton of figures from older generations.
With Mattel I am the strictest. I think a lot of it has to do with I have so many figures from so many generations and also I'm weird and nothing I do makes logical sense. Modern guys only wrestle modern guys. Exceptions like Punk, Morrison, Evan Bourne, etc. exist; those guys are still competing in my modern WWE roster. Attitude only wrestles Attitude, New Gen only with New Gen, Hogan Era only with Hogan Era. I'm sure once I get more WCW guys, they will only be with other WCW guys. I've tried to get rid of the rules and have whoever fight whoever, but it always feels too weird for me and stop. Ultimate Warrior is no longer allowed to wrestle against Daniel Bryan!

It's so sad as I would be all kinds of creative with my figures when I was younger. The Empire Strikes Back snowspeeder was one of my favorite vehicles for my GI Joe universe. Now, I pretty much just stick to exact timeframes and eras although once I get a few more tag teams, I'll likely do a Crockett Cup with all of them. :-)
Fun question!

When I was younger I mixed all the lines I collected, regardless of scale or whatever. I had GI joes that were champs, Jakks bca, DA, RA, Spawn, Spider-Man, etc.
Now it's Mattel only in my fed, but I will mix eras of wrestlers and everyone is in their prime. Doesn't matter to me if wrestlers are still active, deceased, whatever. In ICW just about everything goes. For example:
King Booker has been my world champ since I restarted my fed a year ago. He was in a feud with the elite 23 Undertaker. Undertaker was sidelined after losing a casket match and being burned alive by Kane. Recently Booker was sidelined with injury so now the world title match will be a 3 way dance between Bray Wyatt, Kane (wm31 elite), and Daniel Bryan.

So here's another question for you and everyone else who play the matches out... Do you know who you want to win going into it or do you decide as it goes? And if you have favorites do you have them win more? For me, I know who I want each belt on and I have a hard time having my IC belt go from Legends Texas Tornado to RSC Hitman because they're both faces and both absolutely favorite figures of mine. So I literally have to figure out a transition heel champ haha. I also find myself not having fun acting out the matches too much anymore and every match seems to be the same now.... Grapple, Irish whips, punches, clothes lines, and finishing moves. Where the hell did my imagination go?

When I play with mine, I almost never use legends, or dead wrestlers. It feels out of place, and so I just leave them out of it. And if I have multiples of a wrestler, I just pick one to play with (usually the elite version) and if it gets broken or limbs are loosened, I use the other; no biggie. The fed itself, is very creative, however. Anything can happen. I try to keep the moves realistic but the storylines can be about anything non-drug/sex/death related. I have multiple re-occurring storylines; for example, Kofi and CM Punk have a rivalry that has lasted since 2010, where they used to be friends but CM Punk got greedy and took the championship over Kofi. Both men have switched roles (heel/face), and ultimately, it won't ever end. The same is with Cesaro and Epico. They were put together in a random-team tag tournament, where they found out they worked well together. They held the titles for a while and eventually broke up, and had an intense rivalry that still brews to this day, but only really if they cross paths. They don't go out of their way to get at each other. Although they might soon, as Epico is WHC, and Cesaro is in a tag team called The Knights with Evan Bourne where they both hold the Tag Titles and both are Mr. MITB's (it's a long story).

Lol. Undertaker is my favorite but he takes losses often. He usually gets screwed by someone trying to make a name for themselves. Much like his Smackdown run. Anyways My first match or two will be all out. If it were a real match it'd probably go 4 stars. But by the time I roll around to my "main event" I will do a triple threat or fatal four way as a cop out. I put on dream matches but hardly ever 1 on 1. Typically it's punches, clotheslines, high spots and finishers. Honestly though, I'll play in sperts. I Travel for work and I'll isiall have an apartment and I'll take stuff and pull it out a couple of times a week. Women don't typically hot right into my bed when they see figures, so I'll keep it stored away. But here recently im staying in a hotel until work wraps up here til I'm on to the next one. So my figures are now at my house along with my moc collection. I've got a ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ton of figures and I don't seem to be slowing down in making additions to the habit, so basically I'll end up with a few walls full of moc figures and a few Rubbermaids full of loose. Thousands stored away. It is what it is I really enjoy collecting, and I've really gotten into MOC lately Long story short, I got problems

I play but would love to animate. I say I use JAKKS and mattels together but only mattels I use on rosters. I use old JAKKS guys for surprise entrants in rumbles. The only roster guys I use which are JAKKS is hornswoggle and joey styles (commentator)

I ran a pic fed called ZCW for almost 2 years and only used Mattels with occasional Jakks figure.

I usually keep it as realistic as possible and I like Mattel with Mattel and Jakks with Jakks etc. As for where the wrestler goes I usually do not do cross over like TNA and WWE like if RVD is in WWE he can not go to TNA. For Eras I separate them becuase I do not like using a young looking Bret Hart with the current roster I'll just use the BOPPV Bret Hart. As for doubles I'll just use them as an Alternate attire but I can get creative with alter ego such as Stardust and Cody Rhodes but not seen at the same time. But that's how I do it you can do what ever you want with your fed. Edit: I actually do plan on making a battle Royal with every generation of the Undertaker (Mattel) from his first look to the American Badass all the way to his most recent look but this will not be apart of my fed just something fun for the side.

What's the point of only keeping basics with basics and elites with elites? They're the same company and the same scale.

I haven't played for about 4 years now, but when I did I mixed eras and toy companies.
I had a Toybiz Randy Savage win the WWE title in a table match against the big show, then when he died, the DM figure became a commentator.
Another thing I had was Dolph Ziggler vs. Eddie Guerrero over Vickie. And Festus and Eugene were a tag team, until I got Luke Gallows, who then turned on Eugene.
A Toy biz Scott Steiner and an ECW New Jack had an epic feud that lasted for months.
Arn Anderson became the Hardcore Champion once. I bought him at Wal Mart for $5 and had no plans to use him. Then he won the Hardcore title.
Goldust and Sabu had a pretty lengthy feud as well.
JBL and Andre had a very painful rivalry, and I remember Piper and Bret having a Hell in the Cell match.

When I was a kid, I would mix wwf and wcw but I only had like 3 wcw figs. It's much easier as a kid to mix things up, especially when the imagination is limitless. I had Goldberg vs Ministry Taker, loved how that played out, or Legend killer Orton vs ultimate warrior for the IC title. Now, it does feel a bit awkward to even stand Ziggler next to Hogan in good prime. So I could relate.
