I recall it being 1991 as I was in my fourth year of secondary education.
Am I right ?.
Thanks.

Wikipedia says 1989, although there's no source. It'd be a realistic answer though.

I actually think it was even earlier than that Cam, but I can't remember where I read it. I'm sure WrestleMania 2 was shown over here.

It was the mid-eighties. Sky showed the first WrestleMania in 1985 (it was one of their most popular broadcasts that year), though I'm not sure what month they put it on. But American wrestling was a fixture right from the very early days.

But American wrestling was a fixture right from the very early days. Yeah, WWF specials were Sky Channels most watched thing, when it was a lowly single channel. the real Sky birth as we know it was in 1990 when Sky and BSB merged. I was 9, when I discovered wrestling in late 1990, but an older kid who lived opposite me, had Summerslam 90 taped on VHS. The merlin sticker album with Warrior as Champion, and watching SuSl90, and SuSe90 were what got me into wrestling and particularly the Ultimate Warrior. I also think Neon was also pretty big for some reason! Shell suits, Neon, Jordan v's, Suede Champion trainers, Air Max 90, Reebok Pump, and Patrick Ewing trainers (awful, but need a reboot!!)

I first watched WWF on Sky One in October/November 1990. They showed the Survivor Series over 2 split shows as I remember this was my first PPV I ever saw. Superstars of Wrestling used to also be on Sky One and I think Prime Time Wrestling was on Eurosport or Screensport.
Royal Rumble 1991 was on Sky Movies as was Wrestlemania 7.

Wrestlemania 7 was the first PPV I recall watching. Sky never showed them live as they do now, and it was on at 7:30pm on the Monday. My dad used to tape them on VHS for me to watch after school.

I thought that's when Sky first came on the scene, don't realise it had existed before that.

When did they start showing WWE RAW live at 1am?
I remember having to wait until Thursday/Friday night for it & Saturday for Smackdown.

1985 sounds about right. My Nan and Grandad had SKY on cablevision, but our house had no cable at all. I remember during the late 80's/early 90's they suddenly put all the PPV's onto Sky Movies, which you had to subscribe to, and we never did. I had to go round my mate's house to watch them.

We're all a wee bit old eh lol? Some of uus have been watching this stuff pushing thirty years now!! Around 25 for me, started the end of 90 start of 91. As a hobby, equally as frustrating as it is fun lol!

I started watching it on sky in 1989 and it was definitely around before that. Great days - loved Superstars, challenge, primetime, Saturday nights main event and you didn't have to pay stupid money for the sports subscription and then pay more for the events - well you didn't to start with anyway.
