I've been wanting to see this for Matt Smith (not a MASSIVE Terminator fan, but I am a massive Doctor Who fan) and finding out what character he's playing: color me bamboozled. I'm really excited to go see this soon though. He has an extremely small part. EXTREMELY.

You can't have terminator without the conners. Why not? The only essential thing is a Terminator. And this. The Connors are absolutely not essential to the plot. There is an entire worldwide war that took place. It's like saying the only story worth telling from the Revolutionary War is about George Washington. He may be the big player out of that whole thing, but -- not the only one.

The idea that skynet could successfully kill the Connors yet someone else even more skilled rises up in Johns absence is easily plausible and potentially interesting.

I honestly don't think this movie is THAT bad at all, but we live in the age of the Internet, so, like Nickelback and Nicholas Cage, it's going to be "cool" to hate this film based on a few bad reviews.
I have a bad feeling that it'll underperform at the BO though.
I liked it personally... Great? Not at all, but definitely better than the last two entries for sure, and much better than the mindless internet sheep "reviewers" would have you believe.
PS... Anybody catch the mid credit scene? I had to pee pretty bad so I ended up missing it, fill me in?

I'm a big terminator fan, and a HUGE Arnold fan, but this movie was crap. A part of what made the first two classics were there simplicity. This movie was too unbelievable and confusing for even the biggest Terminator fans.
I felt they dropped a big egg when they did salvation. A lot of people wanted to see the future war so why not do a trilogy of movies where we see the machines rise and kick ass, the human start to turn it around, and then end with the humans winning and Reese being send back in time to start it all over again.
1) Terminator 2) Terminator 2 3) Terminator 3 4) Terminator G 5$ Terminator Salvation

Not because it's 'cool' but because it f***ing sucks as an entry in the series. *Edit* -- just like 3 and Salvation.

I like every Terminator movie. I also like Terminator toys by Kenner. I lurk them everyday looking for low BIN prices.

I can't believe it but I read the whole article. My f*cking head hurts now...Thanks Time travel seemed so much simpler in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

They made it so damn complicated. Too many ideas that they didn't streamline between the writing room, and the shooting script. Too much time either explaining things, or playing catch up with "what the f**k are you talking about?"

Just watched it and after thinking about it the movie wasn't that great. They spent too much time explaining things. I thought miles Dyson' s son would have been in it more. What they did to john connor was stupid. I felt that arnie didn't do much, and Sarah connor didn't really need him to protect her. I don't know how to explain it, but flims 1 and 2 and to a lesser extent 3 and 4,those flims made you feel something, you wanted the connor's to suceed, arnie was actually intimidating in 1 and 2 in this flim he looked like a sad old fool.
I think this flim needed to be rated 15, they can't show any good killing sceans when its rated 12a.
None of the terminators had any presence on screen they were not very scary. The actors were pretty bland aswell. I actually think number 3 is better then this one. I hope arnies not in the next one, he felt too human in this flim.

Too much time either explaining things, or playing catch up with "what the f**k are you talking about?" This. The first movie was a simple continuose loop. The second movie opened the possibility that you can change the future but stuck to the same simple story. After that everything went to hell with new rules being implemented with each movie. I was pissed in this one that Skynet basically knew the events in the other movies when they technically no longer exist.
