Heyo! We've all seen the photos and posts about "swaps" being done in retail. What I mean is, some jabroni will buy a figure, and return it to the store with a different figure in its place. I've gone to four stores today and I saw multiple swaps at all of them. This isn't a rare occurrence anymore. As a matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet that it's coming from people who post on this board, as one of the places had a custom NXT Title Belt in place of the Tag Team Titles! I don't understand why this isn't seen as a big deal to Mattel.
I don't have any real suggestions other than to go to the classic bubble style that you use for basics. Jakks' Deluxe Aggression had a similar box style, except the plastic was glued to the cardboard backing. There needs to be some form of security on these, because you can't rely on the collectors to be honest anymore.
People always complain, "Oh man why did the price go up a dollar! This is stupid!." Well hey, thats why right there. They used to be $17-$18 but now at some stores they're $21-$23. This is because of theft. They're only going to get more expensive, if you rats keep swapping them.
I would love to see some insight from Bill here. Can we get a glued bubble to deter theft? It's getting so sickening seeing so many swaps! I know I'm not alone.

The packaging should stay the same so you can switch between having your figures boxed and loose without having to buy 2... the amount of swaps that happen is avtually very miniscule, it just seems a lot because they are alswys posted here. Think how many figures are in america and how many actually get swapped

Bill doesn't determine distribution Bill doesn't design the packaging
How many times does that need to be said

With some of the swaps I've seen, there's absolutely nothing they can do to prevent it from happening... If someone buys something, it's on the store at the time of return.

The boxes should be even smaller for elites they are still way too big. They should be the same sort of size as a dvd case then it would be easier to store them or display them mint on card.
They should also get rid of the sellotape at the sides of the box, as it is hard taking it off when opening them.

I hope they don't change it, as a MOC collector the box is almost as important as the figure. The elite boxing has been pretty consistent, apart from maybe the black to white jump in e11-12. I know the colours and size are different since then, but u can put a HOF figure next to a e16, and an e32 and e35 and it doesn't look out of place. I don't like blister cards as much.
Note- for me personally this is one area Jakke were light years ahead of Mattel. The CS box design is possible the greatest figure boxing of all time and looks amazing all together... Just one mans opinion

Honestly, elites should come packaged like basics to cut some costs. They could still easily put some accessories in but not big stuff like ladders, tables, and stairs.

They will always find a way to swap out figures. I've seen plenty of swaps in all types of line for years going back to the mid 90's.

A security sensor was placed on all elites and HOF figures at one local Target. Perhaps they caught some rats doing in-store swapping.

I've seen swaps with TNA DI figures.
Anything is possible.

ive even seen basic figures swapped before in my area where they do the acetone trick to pull the bubble off the card. No matter what they do,no matter how they package them someone will find a way.

I would like to see a slightly modified packaging used for e1-e6.
That is the best packaging made for WWE figures.

It does look bad sometimes when the figure does not include any accessories with a lot of empty space in there.

Make a return to that shape and design but go to blue details perhaps instead of red? Make it a tad smaller too to save on wasted space/plastic and hey presto. Really don't like the current packaging, so bulky and ugly.

As a loose collector I don't care if they put them in clear sealed plastic bags.

About the only way to stop obvious tampering would be to remove the box all together for Elites and go cardback and bubble like the Basics. But even then, if there's a will there's a way.

There is a way. All returns must be handled through Mattel. I'm OK with that process.
