With the rumor that WWE recently dropped Roddy Piper from his WWE Legends deal over the Steve Austin/PodcastOne situation, I think we've gotten all the Pipers we're going to get for the foreseeable future. Obviously, it's very possible for the two sides to rectify the situation in time; it's probably a very likely scenario actually. Until they do though, he is currently sans-Legends deal and you know what that means. I don't think Mattel had any more plans to release more Pipers anyway considering they just released him in the Walmart T-Shirt series, but just thought I'd mention it.

You beat me to it!
I've got my EG and elite legends 2 pack bash, but I was hoping for a long haired Piper with a better head scan.
Who knows? Perhaps we'll see one at sdcc that's been planned too far in advance to remove from a future lineup!

Flair sounded suuuuuuuper drunk on that podcast so I'm not sure how credible he was based on much of anything he said on it. That said, if Mattel has one to show at SDCC I'd think we're still good, but if one was in the works, that may get delayed until the 80th reconciliation with Piper and WWE.

I'm hoping a 92 Piper is already ready to go for HOF series 3. I have the EG figure though, so it's not a massive deal if it never happens but I really want that era of Piper.
What even happened? What did Piper say? He's never been candid on Podcasts. He always seems to say whatever he wants, which is what I love about him.

Meanwhile Mattel were too busy pumping out a million Kane elites among others.
I made this point a while back on multiple occassions that Mattel shouldnt waste as much time as they do waiting and dragging their foot along with wrestlers that deserve an update/release. With Piper we got an entrance great basic that was released ages ago and then the elite in the two pack along with Bob Orton yet they had stacks of time to give us a newer elite of Piper...now the chance is gone.
Piper might be a bad example of what im getting at because atleast we did get two nice figures of him BUT there are other guys they havent gotten to that you never know might end up having a legends deal squashed or something else go wrong.
I still stress that Scott Hall is a high risk talent and Mattel should get as much figures as they can out of him...he could go off the rails at any time.

What did Piper say or do? Is he dating Debra? Did he invade Stone Cold's Ranch? What could he have said for this to happen?

What did Piper say? He's never been candid on Podcasts. He always seems to say whatever he wants, which is what I love about him. What did Piper say or do? Is he dating Debra? Did he invade Stone Cold's Ranch? What could he have said for this to happen? To summarize, a couple months back (right after WrestleMania 31), Piper had an episode of his podcast that he released in which comedian/actor Will Sasso was a guest and was impersonating Steve Austin for a good portion of the podcast. Six hours after this episode was released though, it was pulled by PodcastOne (the company that both Piper and Austin work for) after Stone Cold had complained to PodcastOne about the content. Apparently, Austin felt there was too much personal information contained in the episode that he didn't want to be shared all over the internet. This upset Roddy because he claims that his job was threatened and further stated his intentions were good and respectful and the episode was not meant to hurt Austin, but the impersonation was done in good fun. According to Austin on his 7/7 podcast, Roddy had a meeting with PodcastOne in which he basically quit and is now broadacting his podcast in coordination with SoundCloud. Piper released the controversial episode on SoundCloud this week and quite honestly there's not a whole lot there that puts Steve in a bad light, but the main thing that, if I had to guess, was upsetting to Steve was the strong implication that Austin missed his flight to WrestleMania 31 which lead to talk of heat between himself and WWE. Austing briefly addressed the situation at the end of his 7/7 podcast, saying that he did ask PodcastOne to pull the episode and that, as far as he knew, Piper had requested a meeting with PodcastOne in which he decided to leave the company. Austin must know of a few other details as he did say that he would not divulge anymore details since they were of a personal nature, but he claims that he had nothing to do with Piper leaving or being "fired". Steve complimented Piper by calling him one of the greatest of all time and how Austin was a fan of both his babyface and heel work, but also said that he didn't want to get into a back-and-forth with Roddy.

Honky Tonk Man is also another prime example. Luckily they were able to get him out before he bought out his contract but it can happen with anyone.

I will always buy any Piper released. Hopefully seeing it is just a rumor that his Legends contract was dropped it's not true. After seeing the commercial the other night with "the Largest Roster Ever" I was hoping Roddy would be in the WWE16 game.

Ric Flair said on his last podcast that Roddy Piper had been let go from his Legends deal. Just because Flair said it doesn't make it true. Until the WWE or Piper confirm it I will take it with a grain of salt.

I'm really surprised that Stone Cold requested that the podcast be removed; I truly thought he was made of thicker skin, especially when it comes to talking trash!
If this is true, I have lost a great deal of respect for Austin..... this, piled on with the "going home" in 2002, the "domestic dispute" with Debra in 2003, his ten year absence from wrestling, and now this incident with Piper.....
Austin's not the "trash-talking redneck" I thought he was...... or maybe he actually is the "trash-talking redneck" I thought he was?
