PICTURES AND ARTICLE - news.toyark.com/2015/07/18/killer-instinct-action-figures-announced-169862Whilst the video game toys I crave most are high-quality classic Mortal Kombat figures, I am still pleased to see Killer Instinct is getting some. Looking at the photos, my first thoughts were that they look pretty good, but I really wish they were based on the original 1994 arcade designs instead of the modern looks. Then I scrolled down to the comments and see this: So I'm pretty excited about that. Never heard of the company before, but hopefully this line will be successful if nothing else other than to get Mezco to pull their heads out their asses and give us the classic MK 6" figure line video game fans have wanted for over a decade.

It doesn't look bad, but I don't even remember when the last time I played a Killer Instinct game. I don't recognize some of the characters that they produced. Good luck to this company and their figure line,

I don't think I ever heard of the game let alone the characters.

I don't think I ever heard of the game let alone the characters. One of the many early-mid 90s fighting games that launched off of the popularity of mortal kombat. Noteable things about the first Killer Instinct was a hit combo system, 3d-rendered characters and backgrounds, and full motion video clips. The soundtrack was also way above average in my opinion, really great catchy and hip-sounding tracks. Originally in arcades it was supposed to come to Nintendo 64 but it was actually ported to SNES i think due to delays. Whilst the arcade version was obviously superior, the SNES version was still very good. A sequel followed to arcades and then to N64, though I never played the sequel. In 2011 it was resurrected on Xbox 360, though personally I was horrified by the over-stylizing of the characters and didn't think much to the new soundtrack either. But then I don't really play games anymore so I didn't even look at the gameplay when judging it so harshly. I do have fond memories of playing KI1 on SNES though. I really wish more classic game franchises could get high-quality action figures. Hopefully these guys do well enough to eventually get all the classic versions of the characters released. Though if I had to just have one I'd go with KI1 style Fulgore, purely for his status as the poster character of the franchise.

I'd be onboard for a couple of the retro figures. Fulgore, Jago, Thunder, Glacius, would probably be the extent of it. Big fan of the 94 game though. I'm not much into fighting games anymore.

news.toyark.com/2015/07/22/killer-instinct-9-inch-jago-figure-preview-170430Oh man, now they're saying it'll be a 9-inch line!! That sucks, why on earth would they do that? Such an obscure scale, hardly anything is made in 9-inch Well they just lost my interest. On the plus side, Storm Collectibles just announced they're doing a 6-inch CLASSIC Mortal Kombat figure line!! Which is a dream come true for me. See the MK topic for pics/info
