First of all...holy sheet it looks awesome. But the question I have is is it going to be released stateside? I see promos advertising it for Imax theatres but I can't seem to find any info regarding whether or not I'll be able to see it at said theatre. Any info is greatly appreciated and I have a whole pan of fish sticks waiting for whoever can provide some much-needed info

Yes, it will be released stateside. The director was at SDCC last week and said it'll be here this fall. FUNimation gained dubbing rights to it and will be working on it very soon.
As for WHERE it will be released: that's a good question. Live Action anime movies don't really fare well here in the states. I live in Pittsburgh, a pretty big city, and I have to travel an hour north to a theater in a place called Dormont to anything Japan related as they're the only theater who will show that stuff.
I don't expect it to get a sizable nationwide release. I'm expecting nationwide in select cities.
New York, LA, Pittsburgh, Cincinatti, Seattle, St. Louis...big cities that have massive conventions, that's normally where these release. Now if any of them have IMAX capabilities, then they can show IMAX versions, but I imagine it will be city dependent.
So unless Attack on Titan is going to take the risk of going full blown nationwide in every theater (which it could, it's big enough) expect select cities. Sadly, that's kind of how this works.

It looks a lot better than I was expecting it to look. Hopefully the story is done well too.

Thanks for the info! I just bought a whole case of Gorton's just for you! The one thing that does bug me is the fact that if it does get released here, they're dubbing it.
Dubbing is what ruined Ichi the Killer. You have a bunch of Asians calling each other wankers in British accents
