I wanted to take a moment to show off a couple new figures and of course my newly re constructed nitro arena (I took down my classic 80s set for now.
Opinions
Sting: A near perfect figure by Matty. The face is so spot on it's scary. Happy that they went all the way with sting, including new parts for the legs and shoulders. Beyond thrilled that they gave us a perfect CLOTH coat! This is what I expect form a defining moments premium figure and this figure is worth every cent. My only complaint about him is his bat. Although the bat is ultra detailed, right down to the wood grain, this is where the problem lies. AS far as I remember sting used aluminium bat. There fore no grain. I know it's nit picky but the grain is so well done and obvious but doesn't fit and bugs me. It doesn't detract from the figure though. I'll just have to search for one of my Jakks or Toy biz bats to make it perfect.
Vampiro: Speaking of Toybiz. This figure has eluded me years. Never saw him at retail. Not too long ago I was in a local used/after market toy shop in Hanover PA called A2Z toys (for you central PA folks. Nice little shop). They guy had him for less than he was on ebay loose but in the package. I love the real hair and it falls perfectly into place every time. COmes with cloth shirt wich was a rarity for that time. He is not perfectly in scale with Mattel figures but he is barely passable. Until a better Vampiro comes along. He will do.
Nitro Arena set up: I decided to take down my classic WWF 80s set up and play around with Nitro for a while. Yes the sting figure had a lot to do with it. The three new banners I think really make the set up pop. I am happy with the entrance and the use of girders for a quick and simple announce stage set. The more I look at my new crowd backdrop vinyl the more I love it. I added a couple little touches that I'd like to point out. One thing I did to make it more true to nitro was to remove the black turnbuckle rubber covers to expose the metal turnbuckles like on Nitro. Also I put a couple of prop boxes next to the ring to use as the WCW camera man ring side stand. They aren't perfect look wise but I was in a rush and they fit next to the ring nicely.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Panoram experiment
*Nirvana Rip off* "Self High Five"
DDP Enters the arena
"BANG!"
Nash out of nowhere with a chair.
The New World Oder is up to his old tricks.
Scoop slam
Savage is going to fly
Ohhh Yeah!
Jack Knife to the floor
double team
Yes in order to post my Sting here. I not only had to construct an elaborate Nitro set up but I also had to have a drawn out series of photos to bring him in with. Cause thats what I do.
Stinger splash!
Scorpion deathlock!
