So Black Panther had a bigger opening wknd than The Last Jedi.....that is absolutely monumental.

Honestly I don't see how anyone else could ever duplicate what Marvel has done. With every film, we're witnessing history. Because unless there is a huge epic nosedive (which I don't see happening) the MCU will go down in history as the greatest franchise is Hollywood.

Audience exhaustion and switch to DCs different style of stuff by Cinemagoers has absolutely not occurred. Spider Man: Homecoming which was widely predicted to do "meh" numbers ened up being huge too. If ANY property would suffer from audience fatigue now it would be Spidey.....but because hes in the MCU now and his reintroduction was so cleverly handled by the Russos in CW? He delivered. BP had a LOT going for it......but CW is where it all began here too. I am constantly amazed by what Marvel is doing......& come May? I think we are all gonna be sitting with our mouths hanging open after IW.

Saw Black Panther today and loved it. Glad Marvel went on a more serious route than comedy like Thor Ragnorak which will always feel off to me because Thor was never funny. I will say that I think Black Panther in Civil War was more badass than in the Black Panther movie.

I will say that I think Black Panther in Civil War was more badass than in the Black Panther movie. I think that has to do with that in CW, Black Panther is almost shown only in action sequences. Whereas in his movie, they have to give the story and space out the fighting a bit more.

I guess Sony did something right. Cause Silver & Black is on hold. Supposedly they decided to wait and see how Venom does first. Which probably won't do that well, which means we most likely won't have to deal with too many of Sony's ill advised spinoffs.

I am in the theater right now getting ready to see Black Panther with my daughter. I’ve been in this seat for under 5 minutes and my back already went out.

Saw Black Panther last night. I thought it was... solid to good? The 7 out of 10 range is probably fair for me. I loved the dynamic between Killmonger and T'Challa but that was largely the only thing that held the movie together for me. I thought there was some pretty poor cgi at times, unfortunately. I get wanting to show off Wakanda's technology but there was this stark contrast between these beautiful locations like the waterfall and the ice mountain, and then the battlefield scene in the third act.
The train tracks final fight scene was probably the worst location of the movie. I get why they used the plot device of turning off the suits, but I felt like they both could have gotten rid of the necklaces and we could have had more of a tribal finish at the mouth of the Panther cave, which was a magnificent visual imo. It was all little stuff but kind of added up for me.
W'Kabi siding with Killmonger felt really forced. Probably the one story element of the film that just didn't work for me. I liked that Okoye made him stand down. We're all tough until our significant other lays down the law haha. Don't get me wrong, the Klaue situation should have made what W'Kabi did seem reasonable but I don't think the execution was great.
Black Panther is one of my favorite comic book characters ever. I thought BP and Winter Soldier were the absolute stars of Civil War. So I can't help but feel slightly disappointed. This was good, but not great for me. I did think the after credits scene was awesome. Great extension of where we left off in Civil War. I'm thrilled the film is doing so well financially because there is quite a bit more I'd like to see out of a sequel. Can't wait for IW.

Lol I actually saw fans on different forums upset at this because they had already requested May 4th off from work. Works great for me as I already have April 27th off for a completely different reason
