It does look better but my interest is still minimal. Just not interested in him unless we get his origin done as best they can.

I really hope this thing with showing a quick cut of the entire trailer before the actual trailer starts dies a quick death soon. Our attention spans aren't that bad yet where we can't sit through a 2-3 minute trailer guys relax.

Venom does look a bit better...but the voice is irritating as hug.
Are they showing us crapty mini trailers on purpose to make us all outraged until the better trailer that proves the movie isn't a steaming pile comes out? If so...stop that crap. A teaser is one thing, but putting out a bad trailer before a good trailer just makes me tune out.

Everyone is overly critical on this Venom thing. Blame Sony, not the actors or anyone who’s working on it. Tom Hardy is a hell of an actor so I have faith in his performance alone. Venom himself looks badass so I don’t know why there’s any complaints there. Wait until October before you judge it....oh and btw it’s already better than Topher Grace’s Venom. Good Lord was that awful.

The dialogue alone is just bad.

Yeah it looks better than Raimis Venom which was rushed and ill conceived. Im not interested in Venom without Spider Man being associated with his origin...….Spidey isn't a factor here whatsoever so Im not pushed. Sony is just taking $$$ here and flinging it overboard. Its insanity that they wont sit back let MS do their thing with Spidey and his supporting family & just reap the benefits.

A trailer is supposed to get you pumped up and get you invested in the movie. Sony has failed to do that with me and I would imagine other potential moviegoers as well.

I get you, the teaser a few months back was dreadful and I was thinking the same as you were. I as well am not all that thrilled the origins of Venom are being compromised because Sony wants to make a quick buck. But I’m past being mad at it, and I’m willing to give it a watch. I don’t think any negatives come from the aftermath of this. If it tanks? Most likely Sony will pass over all Spidey property back to Disney and we could get a proper Venom down the line. If it’s successful? I’m sure Feige would want to include Venom in the MCU, and I would be cool with Tom Hardy as Venom being the foil to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

I never heard anyone blame Tom Hardy for anything to do with this. I think everyone blames Sony 100%.
As I said before, IMO, this has potential to be like the Catwoman movie without Batman. Just a mess thrown together by people who think we'll eat up anything.
As I also said before, if this movie tanks, I don't see the MCU touching Venom for a very long time.
On one hand, I want it to do well. I like Tom Hardy a lot. We were even born on the same day. But on the other, if this does real well, I fear it may be the beginning of the end of the Sony/Disney working relationship. Because you know Sony would love to have Spider Man in these movies. There's only so many spin-offs you can do till you need to bring the focus of the universe back into the forefront.
Time will tell. I may see this, I may not. I will say, the trailers have gotten better.

I think Venom looks good. Excited to see it. I hope we get a good amount of Cletus and they don’t just do a stinger for a sequel that we may never get. I’m guessing we’ll get very little actual Carnage but at least nail down his intro and put him on screen.

Digital downloaded Infinity War last Tuesday and I’ve watched it 3 times already. I love that movie. Thor arriving to Wakanda is, by far, my favorite part

That venom movie looks god awful. I don't think any of it looks good. The CGI is absolutely terrible it's embarrassing. And th3 dialogue seems rotten as well. And without spider man it's just a waste.
This film will tank.
35% on rotten tomatoes or under is my guess.

I still do not see how people are on board with this Venom movie. I have said it a million times, but how do you get to Venom without Spider-Man? It makes zero sense. Venom is in my top three of all time and it sucks to see him have to be reduced to this. Say what you want about the Topher Grace Venom, but the scene with Peter Parker getting rid of the Symbiote and it landing on Eddie and him turning into Venom was done perfectly..... granted what followed was not but I love that scene. You could have had a whole movie series built around this. Peter gets the black suit in your first movie, Eddie becomes Venom in the second, Carnage is introduced in the third. Plus if you really wanted to go all out after that you could then introduce the other Symbiots. I feel like Sony are going for a quick cash grab here where if they played the long game they could have had a huge franchise. Kind of sucks that there is going to be a whole generation of people who have this as their first taste of Venom. I was kind of bummed out that my son sees Agent Venom as his version of Venom, but I would take that any day over a Venom that has no ties to Spider-Man at all. On a more positive note we are going to see Ant-Man and the Wasp to day and are super excited for it

This how you do Venom...…
MCU Spidey #3:
Spider Man is up against Doctor Octopus. He is outmatched, suit crocked, web shooters crushed etc and they end up having a heck of a showdown in a Lab(insert company here) and Ock throws his into a cabinet full of liquids it seems. He thinks Spidey is defeated and continues on with his diabolical plan.....Spidey emerges in the black costume and absolutely canes him......We end the movie with Peter asleep in bed and the costume inching towards him...…..over the course of this movie we see Peter becoming close with classmate Felicia Hardy & Professors Michael Morbius & Curt Connors.
MCU Spidey #4:
Peter is up against hired assassins The Puma & Kraven the Hunter (insert motive here). Peter is struggling with his costume during the movie and a defeated Puma tells him its actually alive....he has sensed it during the scrap. Peter investigates and they find out that the costume is indeed alive. He cannot take it off & when Morbius & himself try to remove it? It lashes out and takes Peter forcibly from the lab. They have discovered sound is its allergy and we get the bell tower scenario. It seeps down onto Eddie Brock.....movie fades out to Black with only the teeth and eyes showing.
How does Eddie Brock feature? Eddie Brock is a (big bad) self righteous College Security guard who ADORES his job(and Felicia Hardy) When Peter exposes a plot smuggling dangerous drugs from the college lab to clear Curt Connors name? Eddie is sacked from his "dream job" he accuses Peter of being jealous over Hardy and swears vengeance on him.
MCU Spidey 5#...….Full blown Spidey vs Venom. He knows who he is....he knows May knows ALL his secrets. Writes itself.
also? NO carnage until WAY down the road...….you take a Break from Venom/Symbiotes for at least 2 movies.

I like your thinking buddy Although reading your story made me realize that Morbius is another Spider-Man character that is coming to the silver screen without any connection to Spidey!!!!!! On another note, we went to see Antman and the Wasp today was a really fun movie and well worth checking out. No spoilers here, but the second credits scene was really, really lame. My family were the only ones that toughed it out right to the end and as I walked past the dude standing with the garbage bag at the door (is this just a UK thing?) I said to him, "did you know we were wasting our time?" he laughed and said that every one who has waited has moaned about the second credits scene. Still overall was a really fun movie and Paul Rudd is just awesome as Scott Lange.
