I decided to rewatch Spider-Man 3 last night. Welp, that's two hours I'll never get back. Maguire's resting cry face still bugs me to no end. And of all people to play Venom... Topher Grace. Oy. I will say that Rosemary Harris is still my favorite Aunt May, by far. Agreed about Harris as Aunt May - I always envisioned her in that vein. Not complaining about Sally Field or Marisa Tomei - but I see them as Sally Field and Marisa Tomei, not Aunt May.

Yeah, seeing Aunt May getting younger and younger with each Spider-Man, to the point where she's pretty much a MILF now, feels kinda off. Not that Tomei can't do a great job in the role, but, eh. I mean, by the time we get to the next incarnation, she'll be like a 20-something hot older cousin.

I think it's pretty common knowledge that he purposely ed around with it because of how stubborn the studio was being. The thing about Spider-Man 3 is that it shows exactly how dumb Sony is/was.. If they hadn't screwed around with Spider-Man 3, they would have never had to reboot the franchise.. We'd be sitting on Spider-Man 5 or 6 right now.. And it would still be a strong running franchise. I'm not complaining about how things are.. I just have a soft spot for that version of Spidey.

I really liked Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy too...but Emma Stone owned that role in the reboot.

Michael Mando from Better Call Saul has been cast for Spider man HC. Then the BCS Twitter account tweeted out "Mando is spectacular at bringing carnage to life in BCS." Which has lead to speculation that he was cast to play Carnage. Or at least Cletus Kasady.
Personally I kinda wanted Jackie Earle Haley. But I digress.
I think we can all agree that it's way too early to have Carnage. But maybe having Spider Man stop a younger Cletus from a crime would be kinda cool.

As long as it's just like a cameo appearance, I'd be fine with it. Going any further would definitely be a bit bone-headed. Venom and Carnage absolutely need to be a 2-3 movie event.

MS & Feige wont make that mistake IMHO.......they will do Venom justice..... and that justice is a 2 movie sequence of events at the minimum. Fiona talked me into watching Tranks Average 4 last night. I seen it for free the 1st time(I would never have payed) and she wasn't with me. Its even worse the 2nd time because incredibly? You can see EVEN MORE to complain about on repeat viewings. my reaction to this 2nd viewing was a burning desire to get some heavy duty rubber gloves......find Trank and beat him with a piss soaked phone book until I lost the feeling in my arms.

You know what, I actually didn't hate Fant4stic on my 2nd viewing. They were really going in a unique direction with it, and I enjoyed everything with them in the lab.. And then somewhere at the start of the 2nd act it just takes a nose dive. Would have been really cool if they'd made this properly with a competent director.

I hate the people complaining about Tomei being too young for Aunt May. She's in her 50s. Peter is 15. His Aunt wouldn't be 65 yet. It makes perfect sense for someone like Tomei to play it

Hell, you could make an argument for May being around 35-37 easily with Peter being 15, if she was his moms younger sister or something, or they had Peter when they were younger themselves. Even though Tomei is in her 50s, I'm guessing the character is going to be portrayed as around 40. The brief scenes of her and Holland in Civil War were great, there is a great chemistry between them, and you can feel that bond and that they are close to one another. She's kind of acting like a mix of parent/friend/older sibling. Not wanting to replace his mother type of deal, but still looking out for him. She is a fantastic actress and I look forward to seeing her in the role again

Gee, I really regret that tirade I went on about how much I hate Marisa Tomei, and how terrible she is as Aunt May. I shall now go sit in the corner and reflect on my shameful opinions.

I wasn't just referring to people here. In real life people too. People saying she's too young is a factually wrong complaint. One saying they dislike her as an actress for the part, fine. But definitively saying she's too young is logically pretty much wrong
