this is strange, nothing on WWE.com? when Dusty passed it was like instant.... maybe i just REALLY hope it isnt true Probably because they had Cody and Goldy to tell them and they wouldn't joke about their dad dying but piper doesn't really have straight communications Plus, when he died, Dusty was working for the company, and it's a lot easier to verify it than with Piper, who at the time, wasn't connected with WWE.

im just saying in MOST cases you hear about a wrestler passing away and WWE.com has something up within minutes
they had something there for Big Daddy V like 3 minutes after it was reported. It's just weird...I don't want to believe it's true

This is the sadest news I have heard in a while. A true LEGEND and CLASS act! He will be missed!

I really hope WWE isn't stalling the news due to the heat between Piper and them. It would be extremely distasteful if true.

This is terrible! One of the most entertaining stick guys I've seen. A true joy to watch from the 80s, built himself up from nothing to feud with the most recognizable star ever in wrestling.
RIP Hot Rod.

I seriously cant even believe this. To be honest, personally this one hurts more than Dusty. I absolutely LOVED (and hated) Piper as a kid and he was a huge part of my life. His Hasbro figure was one of the first few I ever got and I'll never forget when he lost the IC title to Bret at Wrestlemania 8 in what some have said was his best match ever. Wrestlemania 1....the coconut incident, all his little comebacks in modern times just to help feuds or have some good RAW filler. Ugh this just ing SUCKS. It flat out SUCKS.

very sad. piper was a great talent and helped establish the modern promo. sad loss in wrestling, and at only 62.
