I would like to some official word on these crappy flex force, power slammers, super strikers, and double-attack figures. When these items bombed and did not sell and the retail stores clearance them out, does mattel take any loss on them ? Or are the stores dumb enough to carry them eat the loss and mattel says "tough luck and sorry about that". Seriously Mattel stop making these crappy toys... They're hardly "crappy," the Flex Force and Double Attack figures are quite enjoyable for kids and some adults alike. My only complaint about Double Attack is that most of them appear to be broken on the pegs, which is why I've yet to buy any.

I have to admit that I have the compulsion to press 'Try Me' packages. It was a Cena, and when I squeezed the legs, his torso popped up rather than the torso twisting. Some kid had beasted this thing in half still on the card.

Maybe the spring wore out? I own a few and I had to check them before I bought them. I personally don't mind them, kind of remind me of the Toybiz WCW figures I had as a kid. The Stinger Splash Sting and chair swinging Macho Man sold their moves really well.

Series 2 has Brock in black trunks and possibly Sheamus, who is pictured on the back of the package. I've got Brock, but have yet to see Sheamus.
Super Strikers was supposed to go another Series with a Triple H figure but never made it to retail.
Slam City was also to continue, but sales were not as Mattel hoped. Tail ender two pack of Santino/Orton and Brock/Sheamus barely and I mean barely saw light of day.
Other Slam City figures would have been: The Rock, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and Brodus Clay and another Rey Mysterio in white gear.
As to playsets, Slam City Kane's Cafeteria and Rey Crossing Guard only made it to the proto stage.

It's more so the store losing out, even though Mattel may give them rebates toward future orders. In the end, Mattel loses out on the hours and money for production that went into failed lines.

Retailers probably had some sort of info from a marketing focus group that told them kids wanted action feature based toys, therefore, they wanted Mattel to make toys like that despite the demand not being nearly as strong as other lines are.

All of those gimmick lines fail, every single time, and yet another always pops up to take it's place. It's honestly just a rinse/repeat scam lol. Those are the only lines I ever see any commercials for, it never helps but Mattel still wastes their ad budget on them. If kids actually wanted toys like these, the lines would last, they'd bug their parents to keep buying them, but the reality is they don't. Who seriously thought Flex-force Lightning was a good idea? Who as a kid ever thought, "man I wish this guy's arm would just light up when I bend it"...just like on Raw, right? Nope.

While I dont like the gimmicky toys, little kids love that kind of stuff. So I do see a place for it on the market. I have a theory that only dumb kids like that stuff. The same kind of kids who grow up into adults that are mesmerized by shiny things. I never liked them and neither did my friends. I'm smart!
