He is a massive Flair fan and didn't want him to beat the record?

Stewart's heel turn was the kind of whacky wrestling swerve I've come to love over the years.
People have been saying it was to preserve Flair's record (since he was going on and on about the Streak last night) so I say they should run with that.

Stewart has played a heel for the last 16 years on television. His actions at Summer Slam didn't surprise me at all.

No, the main event was an awful finish. This was more of a strange finish.

I don't know what his deal is, man. It just seems like terrible booking on all parts.

I'm a Stewart fan, but yeah, that was strange for sure.

I actually liked it. Stewart representing all the fans who chant Cena sucks. It may have been strange but I enjoyed it.

I thought Jon Stewart was great, they should have him on from time to time. I wouldn't mind if they made him GM.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing your new General Manager of Raw, the voice of the true wrestling fan, Jon Stewart!" - Lilian Garcia 08/24/2015 Let's make this happen. Jon 'the voice of the not really voiceless, just disgruntles guys on the internet' Stewart. I just thought it was a bit random all the bits of him so obsessed with 'Taker, when he was involved in the Cena/Rollins match. Outside of his dick-kicking Seth a few months back, he wasn't involved in their feud...but maybe that was the point. He would make the best RAW GM since...well, ever.As much as I would love Stewart as the GM, this man disagrees with your statement.

Jon Stewart needs to be Future Jesus Seth Rollins' new advocate.

First and foremost ; that was one of my favorite celebrity interactions ever in wrestling. He saved us all from Cena winning number 16!!
Secondly , I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him given the U.S. Title tonight by Seth , leading to a match Stewart vs Cena at a big raw or PPV. Cena can win his belt back and Rollins can keep looking like the star champion that he is.

Cena defeats Stewart on Raw for the U.S. title. The next day he headlines an anti-bullying rally. WWE.

It's not that I was fully expecting a random Jon Stewart run-in, but I didn't see an outcome where one man winning cleanly over the other would have a good long-term outcome. Neither man deserved to lose their championship, but neither needed two titles.
I might enjoy Stewart hanging around for a bit, though. I mean, what else does he have to do now?

I like Jon Stewart, I really do, but my God was he rotten last night. Not only was he super awkward all around (which granted may have been nerves), but he also telegraphed the turn on Cena. He went toward Rollins, then aggressively went after Cena (who wasn't even standing yet, making it clear what was next), turned back to Rollins, then back to Cena, then hit him in slow motion. He was sadly the worst celeb since Kevin Federline.
