Would we have a better product if they got rid of Smackdown & Main Event, thus cutting down 4 hours of TV a week and having only RAW as the show. Wrestlers would be less exposed, thus we won't seeing the same matches every week, but with just three hours of TV a week it would be hard to see guys like Swagger, Rose, etc who are seemingly Main Event performers only and will appear on RAW once every blue moon. Of course NXT will still be around as well.

Yeah since I rarely watch SmackDown. It should be NXT, Raw and PPV's

Yeah its sad Smackdown used to be much better than Raw but now its fallen so far, I haven't watched an episode since 2013. I just read the results and wonder if I didn't just read the week before's show given that the results are 90% identical.

I will always have a soft spot for SmackDown. People knew my ass wasn't getting out on Fridays until after 9 because I watched Smackdown on Friday nights

Or they could make SmackDown mean something like it used to. Further storylines, important decisions, the occasional title change... anything to make it interesting and worth their time. When was the last time anyone felt that they needed to watch SmackDown?

Only if they're going to get rid of half the roster. There are some that benefit from the extra 2 hours that Smackdown provides.

Maybe? They don't put much story lines into SD these days, so I don't know how much it'd help. The only way I see it benefiting RAW would be less rematches.

Less rematches and more time off for wrestlers. I'm game.

Now I would definitely say yes, however during the brand split WWE benefitted a lot with 2 separate shows. Ever since the whole supershow concept and main event along with superstars being added, there was just way too much unneeded WWE television imo.

The amount of hours the WWE produces has nothing to do with the quality that is on TV. The Attitude Era and the Golden Era both had more hours of TV then right now. The problem is creative department and them not being able to come up with anything and recycling the same old things. What you also need to do is bring back jobbers. Id much rather see Randy Orton squash Joe Chill in Main Event with a Sheamus interview and then go to Superstars and watch Sheamus squash Johnny Charisma with an Orton interview then seeing Orton vs Sheamus on Raw, Orton/Ambrose vs Sheamus/Wyatt on SD, Orton vs Sheamus on Main Event and then Orton vs Sheamus (insert gimmick match) on a PPV.

If none watched smackdown I would say yes...but they don't really do anything with smackdown besides rematches....and its not used for anything. It recaps and selling other shows.
However it continues to get pretty decent ratings and doesn't normally have trouble selling tickets. So why would the Wwe stop doing it??
I don't watch smackdown or main event. If there's a match I want to see I'll find it....and I don't feel like the product would be better without smackdown because in my life it doesn't even affect me.

I wouldn't want that. I would just prefer another brand split.

Another thing to consider, WWE & Syfy makes a butt load of money of the advertisement rights during SD. Without that show, WWE may be forced to roster cuts. And some of the lower level guys we still enjoy may be released.

I'd love to see the return of scrub matches so that they could actually put over the wrestlers and angles again....it felt so much more special when you actually anticipated the feuds when say Sid Justice keep pummeling helpless scrubs and screaming at Hogan every week and Doink would Bully or tease some jobbers, Shawn Micheals would stand over them and pose after always beating them etc....you got to use you're imagination more and have fun with the product.....then you got the occasional tag team main event with all the big names and it actually felt like something big to look forward to and advance an angle instead of something you just yawn at now or roll your eyes at....
-btw, I'm sure the man in your signature would love to see Orton do that to Joe Chill too.

I say keep it because otherwise we may have never gotten to see Big E holding a sign that says "BOOTY!"

I haven't watched Smackdown since around WM27
While some may not have liked it, the time of 'Taker, Edge, Del Rio, and the SES were some of my favorite angles. Great stuff

Financially no. The WWE needs Smackdown for ad revenue, ticket sales, etc. Smackdown serves a greater purpose than just being another show.
Would the fans be better off if there was just Raw? Perhaps... or they could just go back to two hours and reincorporate the brand split. That would be fine with me too.

i was kind of wondering this too i mean the whole brand wars has been over for a long time and the World Heavyweight Championship (Smackdowns Championship i always thought) is no more and most of the matches dont always conribute to any fued or are usually a 6 or 8 man tag that they usually have a rematch on Raw so i dont really see i need for it anymore
