Freddy vs. Jason would probably make it to #3 on my list, if only because I'm also such a huge fan of the Nightmare movies. It's a really fun entry. I get it's probably a bit more "action" oriented than some fans were hoping for but -- I've always found it to be an alright entry. "Dude, that goalie was pissed about something." Not to mention, Katherine Isabelle makes everything better. (She'd be the one straddling Kane) Where is the shot from? Not the film obviously.

Freddy vs Jason and 2009. The originals have their merits but I love the modern incarnation of Jason

The first one I saw was Freddy vs Jason when I was 8. So that's my pick.
I've seen bits and pieces of the others (except the 2009 remake), and I have feeling if I watched them all that FvsJ would still be my favorite. I've been meaning to watch the one from 2009 for the past 5 years. haha

I'm more of a sci-fi than horror fan so I actually enjoy Jason X more than most. I'm also a bigger fan of Freddy than Jason because I like killers who can talk and therefore interact a bit more with their victims, so I chose Freddy vs Jason. Of the more traditional Jason movies I had to go with III.

Who the voted for Jason X??? The same number of people that voted for the original, and by all accounts "classic" Friday the 13th? lol Art. Subjective. Also, at times, a kick in the teeth.

You know, that's actually a fair point. When I heard about the Friday the 13th reboot I got pissed. "This is bullcrap! That movie is a classic, there's no need to remake it." And then I watched it again for the first time in many, many years... "Hmm. Remake the movie you say? Yeah, it's about time." That's a true story.

I cannot say the say about the NOES and Halloween remakes because the originals for those series were actual classics.

The 2nd half of Rob Zombie's Halloween (the actual remake of the first film lol) -- is by all account really damn good. And I love Tyler Mane as Michael. And I'll say basically the same for NoES. Jackie Haley was a FANTASTIC Freddy. Easily my favorite part of the movie. But you can't make him so charismatic, and so interesting -- and throw him in such an utterly forgettable movie...

The best, and most faithful horror remakes to me (thus far) at least new-age, and most well done...remain Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the movie that doesn't get enough credit for starting the whole remake habit (much like Blade doesn't get it's just due for starting the superhero trend) -- The House on Haunted Hill...
