Haha I'm clearly not as big a Bond fan as you but I do love me some Bond. I've got a couple of the books, pretty sure I've seen all of the movies. My favourite Bond might actually be Daniel Craig. And I'm not just saying that because he's the current one, I just really like how he's handled Bond and because Casino Royale might actually be my favourite Bond film. I am super excited for Spectre. It's my 2nd most anticipated movie coming out this year.

I grew up on some 007 and watched them chronologically as a first time viewer back starting back in 1994 with the most up to date one, at the time, being Goldeneye.
I maintain that Goldfinger is my favorite Bond film of all time, with MoonRaker a close second. Hell, the George Lazenby take wasn't that bad, either. The ending to that one was so incredibly somber and unexpected .
And IMO the best Dalton film was License to Kill. Goldeneye introduced me to God herself, FAMKE JANSSEN and is the best Pierce Brosnan film. The Daniel Craig Bond films are great and I can't wait for Christoph Waltz and Spectre
Also, even though it's technically not canon, I have a soft spot for Never Say Never Again☺

Only of the Craig series of films. I'd put Casino Royale in my all time top 20. Can not wait for Spectre.

Did the OP delete his post haha?
I'd like to call myself a really big, casual, Bond fan. I've read all the Fleming novels, seen all the movies, and played/own most all of the video games, with From Russia with Love and, of course, Goldeneye being the gems for me. It was Goldeneye (N64) that really got me into Bond in the first place, and I think that's probably true for a wave of 80s babies.
That being said, Goldeneye is really the only Bond film I hold in high regard from the Brosnan run, which was my initial era. I am not a Moore fan. He's my least favorite Bond, by a mile, and it was a real chore for me to go back and watch most of his run outside of the Spy Who Loved Me, which probably just barely hits around my top 10.
Daniel Craig has become the greatest Bond of all time imo. Casino Royale is a masterpiece and one of my favorite films of all time. He is the closest the film universe has ever come to the novel universe imo. That being said, Dr. No, Goldfinger, and From Russia with Love are still all on par as the greatest Bond films ever. None of them match up with Royale for me, but so few films in cinema history do that for me, let alone Bond films.
If I were to rank my favorites in somewhat of an order, I'd go:
Casino Royale Goldfinger Goldeneye Skyfall Dr. No Licence to Kill From Russia with Love Thunderball Quantam of Solace (Which I actually think is WAY better than people give it credit for) The Living Daylights
Lazenby never really did it for me either. Her Majesty had the cool ski scenes but it was creatively stuck in that middle ground that was actually going on with the actor transition. It's got some of that campiness that we would later see in excess with Moore but tried to maintain the smooth charm of Connery and it's neither one. Just not for me. I would have liked to see Dalton do more films.
Regardless, I'm extremely pumped for Spectre. Monica Bellucci might be the sexiest milf of all time and everything Waltz is brilliant. So the expectation is high. Getting more Moneypenny and Q should be excellent and I look for Batista to be great as well.

Goldeneye for N64 is what got me into Bond. I remember watching the movie after beating the game and getting a kick out of seeing the dam, facility, cradle, and all the other levels from the game. I still love that movie pretty much for that reason.
Soon after that when I was a kid, I watched all of the Bond movies at my uncles house. I remember getting a kick out of Spy Who Loved Me, mainly because I loved Jaws.
Goldfinger is still one of those classics that I like to watch when it comes on.
Daniel Craig has become to best Bond, hands down. Nobody can touch him....and I've only seen Casino Royale. Still need to see his other films, though.

Casino Royale is the best Bond film to date, but that tower fight scene in Skyfall was brilliant.

Love me some Bond movies.
1)Casino Royale 2)Goldeneye
Both directed by Martin Campbell.....this man knows Bond. I remember on another Forum this guy was cracking up when we were talking about Bond....Roger Moore was his favourite Bond and he was defending him with every piece of power in his tiny brain.
He kept saying "Moore is the best bond because he is the only BRITISH Bond". The lack of understanding about British being different from being English astounds me at times.
I responded by telling him that ALL the Bond actors except Pierce Brosnan(who is Irish) were British because they were all from Great Britain.....England, Scotland and Wales.
man he was furious with me so I had to break it down for him.....
Sean Connery- Scotland George Lazenby- Wales Roger Moore - England Timothy Dalton- Wales Daniel Craig- England
are all British. man it is hilarious for me to look back on sometimes!!

The Moore movies IMO are a mixed bag. I like The Spy Who Loved Me View To A Kill(GREAT villainy) Live and Let Die Man with the Golden Gun.....meh Moonraker.......good god. LOL. But I liked Moore as Bond. as you say......PERFECT 70s Bond

I'm clearly the biggest Bond fan on these message boards. I mean, I've got all THREE of the newest movies. So you know, I'm pretty into it.
Seriously though, I started watching Bond with the newest Goldeneye. Have gone back and watched some of the previous films as well.
I'm a Dalton guy, myself.

I feel like I haven't really enjoyed a Bond film since Goldeneye. Casino Royale was just okay for me. Probably because I don't care for Daniel Craig as an actor let alone as Bond. I love Sean Connery's bond movies though. Goldfinger is easily my favorite.

Did the OP delete his post haha? Yea I accidentally deleted it and diddnt realize it. Anyways Everyone seems to get what this post is all about. Pretty much if your a bond fan, who is your favorite bond actor and movie. For me it will always be Connary just because he set the standard for the character and every bond from here on out will be compared to him. Other than him its hard to say who comes in second. Id say its a tie between Lazenby, Brosnan, and Craig. Im glad to see that im not the only one who doesnt care for Moore. He seemed like a cartoon character. His movies are the ones that I watch the least. He even publicly admited that hes read very little of the fleming novels. And if you notice he doesnt smoke cigs in the movies, only cigars. That was because he wanted to distinguish himself from Sean Connarys bond.(not that i advocate smoking but stay true to the literary character.) Anyways picking a favorite movie is kinda hard for me so ill put my favorites of every actor. Connary - Goldfinger Lazenby - OHMSS(obviously) Moore - Man with the Golden Gun (pretty much because of Christopher Lee as Scaramanga) Dalton - Living Daylights Brosnan - Goldeneye Craig - Skyfall Spectre is looking like its gonna be awesome. I think Ralph Fiennes is going to make a good M. He was really good in skyfall and he seems to have the attitude that M in the novels had with his respect and resentment towards Bond. lol Goldeneye for N64 got me into bond too. Thats the game that just about every 90s kid played. Classic, and it really set the standard for most of the first person shooters that came later on.

For anyone who loves Craig you should check out a movie called Layercake. Its the movie that got him the role of bond.

Well, I do like James Bond, but Daniel Craig wasn't James Bond to me. He just didn't fit my image of James Bond. The moves were very enjoyable, but he just wasn't Bond to me. Sean Connary was the best Bond for me. My father-in-law and brother-in-law are much bigger fans. Their first and middle names are both actually James Bond so they have always had an infatuation with the character.

Now I dont have anything aginst black people, but f*ck that sh*t. Bond is an Iconic character and you cant change the race of an icon. He is described in the novels as being half Scottish and half Swiss. In fact Ian Flemming commissioned an artist to draw a picture of him. According to Bonds creator this is how he looks: So if his heritage and race is laid out so perfectly in the books then why mess with it? If your gonna change him why not make him indian or chinese or a redneck that drinks Bud Light and drives a pick up truck?

I'm a big Bond fan but hate how they've taken the series with Craig. He's a Bourne rip off and most of his movies have been action ridden with huge plot holes. I love CS but QOS was a letdown and Skyfall is one of the most overrated pieces of crap I've ever seen.
I've always found it funny Dalton was always blasted for being too serious when Craig is loved for it. Dalton was the closest thing we've gotten to seeing the actual character on screen and did a far better job portraying this torn and beaten man than Craig has.
Dalton and Connery are the best to me. I grew up during the Brosnan era so he'll always have my backing (though Goldeneye was his only good movie). Lazenby wasn't terrible in his outing and Moore I enjoy simply for the ridiculousness of it (he's a parody of the character).
