OK so yes this is another Sting thread, and more complaints that he hasn't won a high profile match yet. Feel free to exit now if you can't handle anymore, i get it. I do want to point something out for those of you who A. do care, and B. act like those of us who care are silly. Back in 2002 two of the WWE's biggest Icons returned to the fold and let me show you some of the results. Shawn Michaels Returns and Wins 2 huge matches, a Summerslam Street Fight against the top heel in wrestling after 4 years of being inactive, and then he wins the world Heavyweight title in his second match in the first ever elimination chamber. Now he was only in his late thirties and still looked phenomenal, but his role coming back really wasn't going to be any different than Sting's. Matter of fact, this was only supposed to be a single match and simply led to a part time return. So why the wins for a guy who best case scenario was only gonna work 3 matches? Why a title reign? Now for a 48 year old in no way shape or form the athlete that Sting still is or was (hope he's ok) today........ Hulk Hogan. This was always going to be a special attraction run. Let's take a look at said Run shall we? This was probably the most popular return in wrestling history granted, but they gave this guy everything.... if only for a moment. A WWE Undisputed title reign and a Tag Team Title reign all within a few month span. Now he did put over Rocky, Angle, and Lesnar but he beat HHH in a blockbuster in only his 3rd match back. He had plenty of glory here, fleeting or not. Let's move on to other Legends and Part timers runs in the WWE. Ric Flair So did Flair need all of these things to happen? Granted it was a long run, but he beat a lot of guys and won multiple championships. He won the first match he ever had with HBK on PPV, beat former Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho by submission at Summerslam 2002, and the rest of the pictures speak for themselves. I'll digress with this picture Right on the cusp of the Miz's push to the WWE Championship he tapped out and lost the US title to Bret Hart. Bret Hart who for all of his greatness couldn't even actually wrestle anymore, the WWE simply wanted to give this guy ANOTHER pat on the back. This was obviously to validate him one last time. So why do these guys deserve these high profile and or title wins while Sting has been used strictly to put people over?

I bet Sting was going to win, but he even said he was injured before the match even started.

"It's not about Sting anymore" were his own words. If they're genuinely trying to make something out of Seth Rollins, he had to win. WrestleMania he had to lose in order to show the whole HHH respect crap and force a wedge in-between the authority.

Of course guys like Hogan, HBK, Bret and Flair are gonna be treated differently in the WWE than a Sting wrestler.
For one, all four are WWE guys. Ric Flair left WCW and brought the WCW (NWA) World Title to Vince McMahon himself. Hogan made Vince millions in the 80s and early 90s, Bret was always a WWE guy until Vince felt otherwise, and HBK was a WWE guy all through the Monday night war.
Someone like Sting - who stayed with WCW until it died, and then went and spent 10 years in TNA - is probably not gonna be favoured by Vince. He just sees Sting now as a cash opportunity. Anyone who can't see that is just blind.

I do agree that it is unfortunate that Sting hasn't won a single high profile match in WWE, I hope he recovers well and can right that wrong some point down the line.

At this point it's whatever to me, I was sort of expecting more. I just hope the Stingers ok and will be able to show up a couple more times before having a proper send off at wrestlemania. That's all I want.

So this is just my 2 cents.
I have no problem with Rollins beating Sting. At all.
What I have a problem with is Cena beating Rollins clean on the same show in a match beforehand - so Sting looks SUPER weak losing to an already winded Rollins.... and then Rollins loses AGAIN clean the next night??
Does a whole lot more for the talent when they dont job two nights in a row to the same fn guy they just beat at Summerslam... but oh Cena needs his little winnies back...
Polarizing doesn't begin to describe Cena. He's the devil of pro wrestling. No escape.

Probably the childhood fan in me, I enjoy seeing the greats return to the top. In 2002 how awesome was it that Hulk Hogan was champion? I enjoyed Bret Hart winning the US title, just because he's my favorite ever. HBK winning at SS 02' also was a feel good moment. Something about the old timers still having it in them is enjoyable. Sting is getting screwed likely because he's the WCW guy, but also I think WWE young talent is way too strong to overlook.

As I've said in the other 87 Sting threads...
I don't think Sting came back with the intention of racking up many victories. He came back for a big pay day and for the bright lights. It's not like he's lost to Rose or Fandango. At 56 we should just be happy WWE is giving him such a high profiled treatment and enjoy his performances.

I am going to go down a list for each of the three people you mentioned and as to why they were pushed more than Sting.
Shawn Michaels -Has been a significantly bigger draw overall -Was a MUCH bigger draw when brought in 2002 as opposed to Sting in 2015 -Returned at 37 as opposed to being brought in at 56 -Had already proved his loyalty to the WWE -Has always been (unless he purposefully chose not to be) the superior worker -Was in MUCH better shape, to the point some have argued he was at his best in his 2002-2010 run -Was significantly less fragile
Ric Flair -Has been a MUCH bigger draw overall -Was a significantly bigger draw in 2002 as opposed to Sting in 2015 -Had been working at least a weekly schedule -Had been working weekly for the years prior -Was Upper-Midcard the entire run (aside from WM XXIV) -Had already proved his loyalty to WWE (was only taking WCW's money and told Angle to sign with WWE in 1998) -Has overall been the better worker -Was able to get over being ridiculous -Was in better shape -Was less fragile
Hulk Hogan -Has been a MUCH bigger draw overall -Was a MUCH bigger draw in 2002 as opposed to Sting in 2015 -Returned at 48 as opposed to being brought in at 56 -Had been working at least a weekly schedule -Was able to get over being ridiculous -Was in the Upper-Midcard the majority of his run -Lost about as much as he won -Was less fragile
Sting in 2015 is not money. He hasn't boosted the ratings, hell the past 2 weeks have had the lowest rating since 1997. His paranoia screwed him over. Outside of having a match with Taker, he was 10 years too late. The oldest anyone has been to hold the a WWE recognized was Terry Funk holding the ECW Title at 52 or Ric Flair holding the WCW Title at 51.
Even looking from a Kayfabe standpoint, the only advantage Sting had over either Triple H or Seth Rollins was from a psychological standpoint. The most Sting should have done in the WWE would be working is in some sort of tag team variant. Get this through your head, HE IS NOT A BELIEVABLE THREAT in a single physical aspect to any midcarder in the company in 2015.

Here's the thing. Shawn Michaels returned to beat the already established Triple H Hulk beat the already established Triple H
Seth's not established yet he's on his way up. Sting shouldve beat Triple H no bones about it, but beating Seth for the title does nothing for anyone besides saying "Hey Sting won the WWE Championhsip at 56 from a 29 year old kid" And offer some nostalgia from 20 years ago

Bret won the US title? I don't remember that at all. I remember it very clearly! It was my first ever WWE show I've ever went to so I was super excited that I got to see Bret win the US title!
