Inspired by Darth Bobs Friday the 13th Thread, I want to do a thread on my Favorite Horror Franchise: Nightmare on Elm Street, my favorites are 1,3, 6, and Freddy vs Jason.

For me it is 3 and 4 as a kid those were the first two that I ever saw, I remember seeing number 3 on TV while at a sleepover at a buddies house and I freaking loved it. then we noticed number 4 at the video store and got my friends older brother to rent it for us. The part in number 3 when Freddy is controlling that guy like a puppet is one of my favourite parts in the franchise.

The only two of these I've ever really enjoyed are the first, and New Nightmare.
Freddy is great, and both Englund and Haley did great at playing him, but -- to me, Freddy has one of the weakest franchises of all slasher characters.

Original and remake for me. I never really liked the other movies in the NOES series.

The only one I truly dislike is Part 2. Very cringeworthy. I'd say Dream Child is 2nd worst.
Favorite is easily the original, followed by New Nightmare.

The original, Dream Warriors, and Freddy vs Jason are my favorites, but I really like them all. Well, except the remake. Didn't really care for that much.

I think the CGI in New Nightmare during the freeway scene is what killed that movie for me. It looks SO bad.
I tried to look past it, cause the movie had some great stuff...but it's so bad. Like CGI alligator in Eraser bad.

Nightmare on Elm Street followed by New Nightmare.
With New Nightmare, Wes Craven made meta horror cool before he made it cooler in Scream.

Except I didn't know there was a remake. Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach from Watchmen) was Freddy. He was stellar. The rest of the movie? Meh.

I went with the original Nightmare On Elm Street, New Nightmare and Freddy vs. Jason
New Nightmare is definitely my favourite out of the bunch. He took a movie and made it seem real, with the actors playing themselves in the movie, yet a deeper, darker, dangerous Freddy was attacking them in their dreams - thus proving Freddy was some what real.
