It's time really, isn't it? Also, if they'd like to change their minds and carry on releasing the DVD boxsets, that'd be fine! I didn't read the article but they announced a while back that they aren't releasing any more box sets until the show is over, when they'll release the entire series in one set. I don't know if that will be released on DVD -- you'd think they would -- but in the interview I read the producer of the show (sorry, can't remember which one) aid that it would be the only way to get the older episodes on Blu-Ray.

Did anyone else watch the season opener? What a crapball that was. I watched it (same with Family Guy season opener) and both shows to me were very boring and bad. For Homer and Marge got a divorce, but didn't cause it was a dream by Homer, which was a dream by Marge, or something?? It just was really bad. I am looking forward to the Treehouse of Horror (as I do every year) even though I know some years it was pretty bad, I am hoping this year they will do some good stuff for it.

It was likely Al Jean you're thinking of. He's the head honcho for the show these days. If they release the whole lot on DVD or Blu Ray, I'll be happy. At the moment, I'm having to make home brew's for Season 18 onwards.

It hasn't been good since around seasons 11/12. Then it got way too over the top and ridiculousness. Still, the first 10 seasons are great.

Lately it's more realistic. Off episode maybe here or there. But the newest one deals with the idea of divorce and two episodes this season with with Smithers coming out to Mr. Burns. Watch newer seasons, they have a few awful episodes here and there but overall they're pretty good.

I stopped watching consistently around seasons 20/21 because I felt the quality of story dropped big time.

The last couple seasons have been very solid. It seems to be hitting a kind of stride again. Would be awful to see it end as it starts to pick up again.
I'd like to see another movie too.

Hasn't been any good since season 9 IMO so I wont be too crushed.
I remember LOVING all the Halloween specials until IX.....which was season 10 because there was no Halloween special in season 1(which was also sh*t)

I'm a Simpsons nut, I have a huge World of Springfield collection that I've currently boxed up so that my wrestling stuff can take priority....
It'll be a sad day in my house when there are no new Simpsons to look forward to. I do enjoy the "Every Simpsons Ever" stream on the FXX Channel, though..... I can always turn that on when there's nothing else to watch.

The season premier last weeks was so bad I was furious. But this week's was pretty good. Especially Ralph's line of "I kissed a light socket once and I woke up in a helicopter!" had me rolling for 5 minutes.
I don't want it to go away. I used to watch Tracey Ullman just to see the 5 minute Simpsons clips. It could go one forever and I'll be happy. I do however want better writing and funnier dialog. Both things were missing from the premier.

Sounds like it's the right time for it to end. I haven't enjoyed it since Season 12.

I absolutely love the Simpsons but it is getting really stale now. If it did end it really wouldn't effect me. There will always be 30 seasons to watch.
