Hey, with pre-orders rumoured to be on RSC soon I was wondering how much the taxes normally are on orders? Also does it tend to be the larger packages that get taxed?

Now by no means am I an expert on this but from reading on these forums I have seen that purchases of individual figures often do not get hit with customs fees.

That makes sense as probably doesn't feel like a purchases to customs. Is there anyway to know how much an order will cost you or is it pretty much random?

I believe the rule is anything over £15 (including postage) is subject to customs fees. UPS charges an £8 handling fee, then the customs charge on top of that
Plus side: I get the impression based on what a few people have said that Ringside are prepared to declare slightly below the value to save them on customs
Down side: Ringside's postage charges are extortionate and don't seem to work out proportionally

Cheers guys - thanks to your help I've managed to look up some good info about it. Sucks to live in the UK eh?! I worked out 6 figures (4 elite, 2 basic) would end up at £25 per figure!!!

Customs charges have been hit and miss for me.
I've ordered (too much!!) from RSC and had no charges as much as i've had them.
I've even ordered a full set of elites and was never given any customs fees, while other times I have had them.
Most i've had to pay was about £35 which was for the set of ASR ring with both cages.

You pay VAT on the value of the item plus postage. There is nothing that is getting here from ringside scott free without a massive stroke of luck. i.e Customs sometimes don't bother for less than 9gbp duty for non EU goods. Which is basically 45 quid including postage allowance. www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Bought from ringside only once, value of figure was declared less than it actually was so no customs charge for me.

With Amazon we benefit from their global behemoth cheap shipping!!! I've never ordered anything small from Ringside, its always been mass orders in the sale.

My Scott Hall and DM Taker arrived on Saturday and I had to pay £11.68 - this was broken down as an £8 shipping and handling charge by the Royal Mail and presumably a £3.68 custom charge. I think it's the delivery companies slapping £8 on top of anything that has a customs charge that is stinging us! On the other hand I've had several deliveries thar have slipped through without any charge. It's about 50/50, but if you are ordering anything from RSC be prepared to pay in the region of £15 on top of whatever your order total is! If you don't have to pay a charge it's a bonus ??

If you order one you're fine, bulk orders are more likely to be charged.

I've ordered two figures for my next order. E39 Sting and E40 Umaga. I'll let everyone know what the Customs charge was in Early December when they arrive.
