Nope.
If you noticed Taker and Austin were both exclusives and not a flashback in a regular elite line. A lot of people missed out and this is their opportunity to get their hands on a very similar version of that exclusive instead of paying $70-$150 for them on eBay.
I myself HAVE both exclusives and I'm still going to get DM Taker once I see him in the stores and Austin once he comes out. Be patient, you'll get your AB Sting and I'm sure new unreleased figures will follow.

They EASILY could of did the Wrestlemania 12 HBK! That would of sold like crazy or IYH DX. Everyone had access to the RSC Austin so it's nobody's fault but your own for not getting it.

Hogan is the fault of Hogan and Taker was a last minute thing because they lost the rights to the other guy. Two unfortunate circumstances, but I doubt the trend will continue. Besides, Austin and Taker won't sit. They didn't lose the rights, they made it with the hopes that they would be cleared in time, they weren't. Pretty sure that was the case and Bill said so in a Q & A, I think from SDCC. My guess was Owen because this was around when his DVD was announced. Who would have guessed that what Ho'Kogan said on a sex tape in 2007 would come back eight years later? It was totally bad luck. Like Bart said, Taker totally won't sit. Yeah it sucks for collectors its a nearly identical re-release, but a large majority of people didn't get a chance to grab it. And the Austin totally won't sit. Yeah again, it sucks for collectors who have the RSE Austin, but here's a chance to grab those two exclusive belts, plus a third. His Elites and even Basics never sit around, ever, this is pretty good given the short turn around time they needed. Then after that we get Great American Bash '90 Sting. Before you decided to sell off your collection didn't you still need that Austin? It would have been perfect for you especially seeing I still have an extra of the RSC box you could have had for it.

Nope, I have all the RSE up until Scott Hall. This is good, I can sell the RSE one and get this DM, this way I'm not torn between the RSE belts and the Legends figure.

I prefer non rereleases but I think these ones will probably sell. This was not the ideal plan for Mattel
I'll buy one or two dm austins I'll pass on dm taker

it hurts it for hardcore collectors. because thats money Mattel wont get from those individuals. that they most likely wouldve gotten if it were a new release . it depends which side of the boat your on really.

They are pissing people off the pay high dollars. They know collector statistics. They have algorithms (equations) that help them decide when the time is right to "re-release" a figure or update a desired figure. DMs didn't start back up by accident and Austin isn't a solution to the Hogan DM. It's likely that Austin was planned all along and got pushed up. You guys thing Mattel would have re-released sooner, however, it takes at minimum of 5 years to build a loyal fan base. Re-issuing figures at an earlier time would be as profitable in the past, as most serious collector are wil to dish our more than they would admit. Sitting and waiting for the next crop if collectors to mature is a smart thing to do. Mattel is not the first to do something like this.

In my area, none of the DM's have sat yet. This includes the 'Taker. I'll bet Austin doesn't spend too much time on the shelves here, as he and Divas are always the first to sell out of an assortment.

I'll be picking a couple up. For the belts, of course, and because I was never a fan of Austin's smiling face scan.

Got the rsc figure and have no problem with them releasing the stone cold dm. Despite preferring neutral scans, scsa's is just so boring to me so like the rsc scan a lot better. Will still buy the dm for the belts.

Everyone with buy the DM
And Bill created opportunity for another Austin elite if he puts the RSC head on it, because everyone will buy that

The RSC Austin was his best figure and while I have two of it I will pick up the DM also. Maybe I will repack one of the RSC ones because I really liked the box so I kept them.

The Undertaker figure is different enough from the SDCC that it doesn't ruin the appeal of the SDCC version at all, at least not to the hardcore collectors. Austin's a very similar figure to his early releases (it does look like he's re-tooled from the mockup pics, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will be). Three belts will sell that figure, though. No doubt in my mind.
Personally, I don't think re-releasing figures kills ANYTHING. If nothing else, it adds money to their revenue since now, I'll be buying the Ministry Undertaker right from retail, and they'll see the money, compared to some ebay seller who's just trying to profit.
