I think the last 2 DM's for 2016 after Sting need to be new to the line names and big ones at that.

I've just bought Taker today and even though I've got RSC Austin I will probably get DM Austin. Mattel reviving this line was an amazing decision.

I hate the re-releases Stop taking valuable spots If you missed out, go hunt down the figure you want so badly People will. The difference is, they can hunt down the figure at a local store, rather than spending 100 bucks on eBay. Mattel makes money; new collectors get figures; you save money by NOT having to buy a rerelease if you don't want it. Everyone wins. What if you only started collecting late last year and don't fancy paying £80+ for it? Tough, or so that's the way it should be Are you mad because your figures aren't "special" anymore because anyone can buy them? Or are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that new collectors should have no options available to fill holes in their collection, other than secondary market? Figure companies do this ALL the time. Why shouldn't Mattel? Especially as a business. Mattel will never say "too bad those people missed the first release. Tough, that's the way it SHOULD be. We don't want any money that comes from rereleasing figures." Some of these collectors, man. Up until now, the only justification they had for buying that "expensive" or "rare" figure was knowing that was the only way they'd get it. So now they're mad, because they've spent a ton of money on 20-25 dollar figures that'll be everywhere in six months, and as a result, no longer have that sense of justification.

I see your point but honestly E14 Bossman re-release was a bad choice when you have Corporate Bossman yet to be made

I think it is hard to say. Lets be honest we want to bad mouth Bill and Mattel but to me it wasn't there fault. I know Bill said he they figure Undertaker replace was a guy they weren't allowed to make. Then the whole Hogan situation force them to replace him with I am guessing will be Austin. Now for me I wasn't collecting when the that first Taker wasn't avaible, and as a kid who grew up in the attitude era the RSC Austin was the beginning of me buying Mattel and after years of just looking around for the fun of it that Austin goes for a lot on the second market. It is a smart move for Mattel. As for other re-releases or repaints as for figures like Boss Man or Mr Perfect I am glad they are because like I said I only started collecting around Elite 17 Ryder and the Austin RSC figure. Do people even realize how much the Nash and Diesel are going for on the second markets? So I say good for Mattel and its a nice second chance for most collectors.

I agree with so many of the posts one here. If you want re-releases, too bad. You should have been collecting when the figure was released originally. I apply the same logic to my Star Wars collecting. "Oh, you want a Darth Vader figure? You should have been collecting in 1978. Sorry."

I think that their doing collectors a favor by re-releasing Undertaker and SCSA,cause some people couldn't gt their hands on it in the first place.

I love the idea of getting Taker since I missed out on him before. I have to Austin so Ill pass on him but its cool we have a second chance for these exclusives. I also want that Warrior so Im cool with re releases to a point. I think to keep the line going they are going to have to put some new figures out especially with the high price point. I also like the idea of the DM line uses for "First Time in the Line" guys like they did with Flair, Sting, and Hogan.

Defining moments has been one of my favorite series from Mattel. I was really saddened when it was shelved and thrilled when it came back. Flair, Sting, Hogan for the re launch have all been fantastic. But I fear that the new trend of re releasing exclusive figures may hurt the sales of the line. Undertaker was passable (I mean the cape and gear is pretty ornate) but now another elite Austin with belts we already have and a rubber vest? This hardly warants a DM figure. I'm concerned. These do not make up for the Hollywood Hogan. I have nothing against passing on these figs since i have the exclusives and am thrilled for those who missed out. I just hope that it doesn't effect sales poorly and lead to the line getting canned due to lack of interest. I think the interest is there if you give us something fresh that is HIGHLY detailed. Yeah, the blame doesn't fall on Mattel. The Undertaker was a last-minute addition due to someone Bill has been working on doesn't have a Legends deal, but I guess they assumed he would already be signed. (he mentioned this at SDCC) Stone Cold was all Hogan's fault. They had to scramble and included three belts as a 'we're sorry Hogan screw you guys out of what would have been an awesome figure' gift. I assume they will be unveiling new, fresh attires/characters in the near future.

The thing we need to remember is that in the case of Taker, most fans don't have him. Heck, there are plenty of collectors who don't frequent the boards who may not even know the first existed. Being one of the best figures Mattel produced, it will be a nice treat.
Austin is a similar deal, and it's been many years since an elite of him in wrestling gear has hit retail. Add to that the belts, and he's a sure fire winner.
Also, as mentioned, these were both last minute changes, so I don't think we'll see too much of this in the future. I really can't wait to see who's coming after Sting.

I just ope that sales don't get hurt because of it and reflect negatively on a great line. I hated to see the line shut down the first time and don't want to see it happen again. From what I read everyone else seems optimistic about the sales of these two. So time will tell. I look forward to more.

So you guys care that much about how special a figure isn't that isn't even limited edition? If it was a 1 of 100 you shelled out big bucks for, I could at least see it.
At the end of the day i want everybody to get a crack at a figure they are willing to buy, at retail price.
Hell bring on a Rerelease of FB 12 Kane. Change him to a crimson red though lol.

There's so many Hogans & Razors in my area that I never once saw Sting at retail. I had to pick it up on Mattel Shop.

Is the Defining Moments Undertaker an exact re-release of the SDCC Undertaker? If not what differences are there? Thanks

I think that a DM purple camo edge with a CLOTH entrance coat and a NEW HEADSCAN that actually looks like him and the WHC would reinvigorate a lot of people's interest in the line. I hope it happens. It better happen.
