I had no problem with the head scan, because like I said when the pics first went up it looked like the pic was taken at a bad angle. The other pics of it looked fine. Sure I would have rather had a cloth shirt (which would have worked with that coat) but my only real complaint was the scorpions placement. But that was settled that day when East Coast posted a pic of him on RAW in a singlet with the scorpions placed in the same spot. So I never needed to be swayed as he was the only one I had preordered and added another to my order after the pics went up last week. The figure is still wrong. The Scorpions are wrong. The pants are like the ones he wore at Survivor Series. This figure is a hybrid of Survivor Series and his RAW Debut. If the figure was meant to be SURVIVOR SERIES, the shirt should have been black, the coat should have been black, and the tights should have been untucked. The scorpions were just on the pants at that show: If the figure was meant to be the RAW debut, the Scorpions should have been higher: I still think this figure should have had the singlet underneath and a CLOTH shirt. I'm sure eventually we'll get a singlet/ring gear Elite Sting....I was just really hoping we'd get a t-shirt, but it looks like I'll have to buy one from China lol

I was going to swap the lower legs so I am glad I don't have to do that. (lol) I just never remembered him wearing scorpions on the pads so once East Coast posted the pic with scorpions like the figure I was fine with it. I would have still preferred a cloth shirt over a singlet like B55 as that was my favorite Crow singlet, but I am fine with what we got. I might head swap my extra e39 with and extra b55 for my modern Sting.

I'm really liking the head scan on E39 Sting but I'll be passing on the figure itself. New packaging looks cool but it'll still go in the garbage for the trash man to pick up.

I was always on board with that Sting. I want two. I don't like the packaging though. The way it cuts off in one corner means less room for accessories down the road. They couldn't fit the APA accessories in that box. Which might be the point of the new box design; to keep it from having too many accessories and increasing costs.
But that Sting, yeah. I need it.

Well, I like the figure and I'm gonna buy it, but...
Pros: 1.Love the blood red color 2.Even if it's only 98% accurate in shirt/tights/boots combo, this is how he looked like in most of his Raw appearances. 3.Shirt, coat, bat, are all represented as well as small details like the tiny scorpions on the gloves and coat details. 4.You're getting a lot of figure for your $20
Cons 1.face paint looks too wide and square, not contoured enough on the face with flesh paint(which leads to Lego comparisons) 2.Being "stuck"(we can always customize) with a shirt figure, APA are an exception since the figures are supposed to represent their agency gimmick, when the sleeves are painted on, it looks kind of cheap(but then how would you get the coat to fit?), I mean in the elite line, removable shirts are sort of a given thing, so I would say, save the shirt figures for basics(like the Sting/Warrior 2-pack) and make wrestling gear a priority for elites, hopefully more elite modern Stings in the future(WM31 and NoC) are released like that.
Also, please don't release WM31 Sting with a post-match headsculpt, even though that would be amazing.

I still don't agree with the choices made on the figure. T-shirt tucked into singlet/tights is a bad look every time. With the rubber coat the arms can't move so you can't pose or point the bat, so it's more statue than toy. The head is a matter of opinion, but it just isn't their best work. Mattel set their own standards very very high and I feel like they missed on this one.

I'm a huge flashback collector. The only non flashback I've ever bought was e34 hogan. I still will not be buying e39 sting. I'll buy any and every flashback sting they make

Like I said before I'll only be picking up sid, and I'll fix his hair and eyebrows. I really hope the next Sting has short accurate boots and new face scan. The new pics show the head is better than the proto but the jawline still looks weird.
EDIT: I just noticed the Mattel rendering for Sting also had the untucked pants, I think they should of went with that.

I have been swayed, yes.
I was always going to buy this, because it's Sting, but I hated the proto. The final product looks amazing though. Great job Bill!

Yes, I was swayed. initially I was going to pass on him, based upon the proto pics. but everything since then has made the figure look much better to me, so I preordered him last week.
as far as the packaging - I like it! it stands out. and Sting definitely pops out more in it, since he is literally the colors of the new packaging !
