Im just watching No Way Out 2003 and every time Steiner goes on the offensive he gets booed, funny considering HHH was the heel at the time. He was also booed i remember during his royal rumble 2003 match with HHH. What was the story behind that?
He was moving very sluggish in this match, Im far from impressed. He is also guilty of one of my all time pet peeves...not hooking a leg when he goes for a pin on HHH. If you're going to pin someone atleast make the damn effort to do it right!!

Maybe because Steiner was that hated back in the day or maybe because everyone knows just how much of a dick Steiner is in real life so I can see why everyone cheered for Triple H hell I was even cheering for him when he was feuding with Steiner even though Triple H was supposed to be the heel in that feud

His sluggish movement at the time was because he was legit injured. Not sure exactly what the deal was, but he was unable to do most of the moves that Steiner would have been known for at that point. It's why he kept doing nothing but side belly-to-belly suplexes over and over.

But also I think it is because in real life people just legit hate Steiner and I think that somehow transferred over back in 2003

My only memory of him will always be him jumping off the apron "towards" Test.
Towards is being nice, by the way.

The crowd turned on Steiner because of the way he was booked. He was over as hell when he debuted at MSG and all the way into RR2003.
Steiner had drop foot which eliminated 75% of his regular moveset. Yet he was booked in a slow ass plodding match with a bloated and nearly as out of shape HHH.
yet more mishandling of talent by Vince and his cretinous daughter.

Essentially everything he did after the MSG debut was terrible, that probably had a lot to do with it. The injury is likely the leading factor in the majority of it, but it is what it is.
I was at the Rumble in '03 and I remember everyone was tearing that much apart. Boston has always been kind to Triple H anyway, since it's close to his hometown.

Because he forgot to yell "Suplex City B..." in the middle of the match.
Seriously, if it wasn't because it was being done to Cena, I would have turned on Brock. The good news is that we now no longer associate german suplexes with he who cannot be named.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I was excited for Scott to rejoin the WWE and had expected big things from him. Unfortunately, what we got was a sluggish, unmotivated, injured Scott Steiner. And after failing to deliver, I lost interest... fast. I wouldn't be surprised if others felt the same way.
I know everyone wants to blame his failed run on the booking, but had Steiner been able to produce a competitive entertaining match, I'm sure his WWE career would have went a lot better. But a bad attitude and injuries always seemed to hold Scott back. And that is a crying shame, because at one time, he had all the skills needed to be one of the best ever.

HHH was sluggish due to his multiple injuries as well at the time yet was still booked to the moon. I blame booking. Steiner was an injured WCW star at the WWE used this to burry him. Everyone blames his terrible matches with HHH all on Scott when HHH was hurt too and put on slow, boring matches with everyone not named HBK at the time.

Neither were on top of their game. Problem was Scott didn't even look like he was trying at times. He was just going through the motions. He was in cruise control. Thus explaining why the fans turned. He didn't have a single stand out performance his entire WWE run. It was sad watching how far he had fallen. As I said in another thread, I wish they they had booked Scott as a bodyguard type role until he had healed properly. But they probably figured they'd get a few main events out of him before his injury was exposed.

Yet, TNA used Scott Steiner correctly when they had him in 2006 - 2010.
Maybe if Scott Steiner jumped ship to the WWE while WCW was around, he would have been used better, and probably held some sort of singles gold. It seemed those WCW guys who jumped ship during the Monday Night War fiasco ended up getting title belts and fast tracking quicker in the WWE, compared to guys who came over from WCW after WCW had went out of business.
It took Booker T a year to gain any steam in the WWE and when he did, they chopped him right down by having him lose to Triple H at Wrestlemania 19 and not even get a rematch, they went right into the Kevin Nash vs. Triple H program which lasted from April - June. Scott Steiner - injured or healthy - would no doubt have sustained the same fate as he did.
