The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Any fans here?
I grew up watching the Fresh Prince of Bel Air way back in the day. I was still in middle school while new episodes were still airing. And surprisingly enough, the show has held up remarkably well over the years. I still found myself laughing, much to my surprise, at the little antics and mannerisms of all of the characters. Yes there is a lot of corny humor, yes there is a laugh track in the background, but this is still undeniably the show that made Will Smith and with good reason. This is vintage Will Smith at his absolute best. Yet, he doesn't completely steal the show as all of the side characters have depth as well. Uncle Phil, Carlton, the once innocent Ashley, ditzy Hillary, and the serious but snide butler Geoffrey. They're just as funny as you remember them the first time around I watched them

The show still holds up fantastically. I binged the first few seasons because it's on Canadian Netflix. I think it falls off after the 3rd season (after the original Aunt Viv left the show) but it is still a hilarious show to this day. It's just such a wonderfully entertaining cast.

One of my all time favorite shows, there are two episodes that stick out to me because a show has never made me cry. The one where Will got shot and Carlton brings a gun when he visits Will in the hospital. Then there is the one where Will was supposed to go off with his Dad but he ends up bailing on him. I remember Will buying this statue and just broke down to Uncle Phil, those two episodes always gets me. Amazing show I still catch it now and then when they show it on Nickelodeon.

No kidding I noticed flipping through that Nick just aired that shooting episode.

I would watch it daily in the 90s. Literally.

Yep, love it. Uncle Phil is still one of the best TV dad's of all time.
And the Boys II Men ep is one of my favorite TV Christmas eps.

My favorite scene of all time is when Will broke the fourth wall by saying
"If we're so rich, how come we can't afford a ceiling?"
And then the camera pans up and you see all of the stage lights lol

My favorite parts are in the earlier episodes where Uncle Phil comes to Will (& Carlton's) rescue...
"Geoffrey? Break out Lucille."
"Now, you open that damn cell before I tie this place up in so much litigation, your grandchildren are going to need lawyers!"
