Now, I don't expect a reply, however I would really enjoy your input on this. Recentky, the Design team of Mattel's Master of the Universe made a statement on the changes of figures like Lord Masque and King Hsssss. ( Can be read here : news.toyark.com/2015/10/22/mattycollector-motuc-updates-king-hssss-lord-masque-snake-mountain-and-more-180314 ) In this statement, he also went on to say he has had 9 managers in his short run of his position. All of which have used screen caps of irate and angry fans going on tangents about how the current product is trash and there is zero passion in the work. Which is basically what had been sais here about the WWE line. My question is this, based only on my opinion that this forum is the most popular of its kind, have some of the comments here hurt the product? Has any helped the product? Thank you.

I think there has been many posts and threads that would indicate that people here do not think the current product is trash including myself. Just the amount of flashbacks alone shows me that bill has passion for them which I appreciate greatly.
Keep up the good work mdt. Keep my flashbacks coming

This is not in any way a shot at users here. I just wonder if any screen shots of negative or positive comments here have come up in meetings between managment and design team for the WWE brand like they do for the MOTUC brand that have worked against the product.

I was a little surprised to find out that the MOTUC line was still running a few weeks ago. The quality if work still seems fine to me, but if people don't think so, well, the line has been going on forever and a day. They have pillaged every last design they could, probably scoured every memo and every scrapped design to lay hands on concepts for figures. It has run it's natural course. These things happen.
Wrestling is lucky in that there is a high turnover rate of new talent. Say WWE ceased having new shows and only had old wrestlers to pick from. I'm sure manybof us would say there is no passion left when Elite 122 comes out and only has jobbers from Sunday Night Heat.

slightly off topic....but i was thinking about toylines. Star wars...he-man...gi. joe...the old DCUC lines.
is WWE the biggest toyline? U gotta think there's about 70 elites per year. 100 or so basics.
DCUC only made it to like wave 20. Gi joe seems to just be a few TRU and online exclusives a year. There's only like 15 he-man figures a year.
not sure about star wars or marvel legends.

I would hate to work on something like that. There are only so many characters before you run out. And kids aren't going to buy much He-Man because it doesn't have a TV show anymore (as far as I know). Bill's fortunate to be in a position where something new will always be coming down the pike. There's always new wrestlers, there's always new gimmicks, and there's always new looks. That's gotta be a good feeling to know you always get to do something new.
Fun fact: My uncle was an animator on He-Man back in the day and he's color blind. I think he said he had a cheat sheet so he knew what color was supposed to be what. I also think he told me he'd occasionally turn in a cell with the wrong colors and have to re-do it.

This is about the longest I ever consecutively collected a line and for me, this is a continuation from RA and DA. That's a lot of wrestling figures, smh.

I was thinking about this today, like man am I glad I stuck with this all along, because I can just grab some figures off the shelf and stage a 4-way match with Cactus Jack, orange Randy Orton, Andre the Giant, and Seth Rollins, or any of the other hundreds of them I have to choose from, it's great! I can't count how many other lines I used to collect that just went to $#*& or turned me off after changing their tune significantly, like Hasbro Indiana Jones, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, MLP, Neca Planet of the Apes, Power Rangers, Marvel Legends when Hasbro got the license, etc.

But Bill doesn't design the MOTUC line I know. But with both lines under the same Mattel banner, I imagine managment handles alldesign teams in the same manner for meetings.

Not sure which MOTUC fans are complaining so obnoxiously because let me tell you, having been onboard since 2008 with this line, SLC is a million times better with PR than that weasle ToyGuru.
I get that fans are passionate, I'm passionate about WWE Mattel figures too and I get highly critical of Bill sometimes as well, but it's not apples to organges.
The same dependances SLC has with his Asian counterparts delivering on the end-product is the same dependances that Bill faces.
What I can't understand (because my knowledge of toy production is limited I admit) is why the turnaround is so slow. After 5-6 years of producing these figures, haven't they bothered to at least look at creating efficiencies in the process? It really shouldn't take the same 10-months to produce a figure after 6 years. The quicker product is out the door the quicker your margins are up I'd say.

He-Man.org which is the equivalent to Wrestlingfigs for MOTU figures. Go ahead and browse the comments and posts. Its full of 35+ year old men who literally, and I do mean literally, cry when something isn't done to their liking.
