Camacho I don't think ever appeared on Raw, only Smackdown/Superstars/NXT so that makes sense but how did you miss Cherry? She had a run of about a few years, even out lasting the Deuce and Domino storyline's conclusion. Camacho is currently in TNA as Micah? I think. Weren't Deuce and Domino on Smackdown exclusively when they were relevant? I don't think I've watched a Smackdown since the hilarious night where Brock fought Vince in a cage and Kurt Angle struggled mightily to get into the ring and interfere to the point where Brock had to just walk around like a weirdo with Vince on his shoulders like he was gonna do an F-5 for a solid minute till Kurt could get into the ring and complete the spot. It's on a Botchamania somewhere. I mean, they were but they actually made it to PPV unlike Camacho lol

Oh well...wasn't a huge fan of his but he deserved more than that I suppose... This x10 I don't buy the Christian love, but it hurts to see anyone just fade into oblivion like this

Could of at least given him a final match to send him off, WWE making him retire is pretty disrespectful to me.

Christian shined at his best in TNA singles-wise. I find it sad that WWE can't even capitalize on his ability to do that. They didn't want to. Christian was around when WWE was still making stars. He was repeatedly overlooked, that's why he went to TNA. If my memory is correct, he came back because they made him a big money offer that TNA couldn't beat. It was a Shannon Moore situation, they didn't want him but they didn't want TNA to have him either. Christian said in 2005 that he left on good terms and felt he could return when he wanted. You are right though that he left because he felt overlooked (they botched his momentum in 2005). The dirt sheets said Christian returned in 2009 due to money, his readiness to return to the WWE, and not liking the direction TNA was going. To me it seemed like he returned in 2009 to prove that he could be a top guy for them. While he did a great job in ECW, it was also a backhanded slap to him by sticking him on the "C" show. When ECW folded he was never given a shot as a top guy on one of the main shows until Edge was gone, and even then he was booked as the least credible main eventer ever. I've never understood why Christian was overlooked his whole career. He was just as good as Edge was on the mic and in the ring but because he wasn't a "big" guy he was never given a shot. He was over big in 2005 and nothing came of it. Fans went crazy when he won the world title and nothing came of it. It drives me nuts that a guy like Miz was given the push he got but Christian was given crap.

I don't like it but I'm not surprised. I really hate what TNA has become. We really need a company where guys like Christian will get properly used and make the money they deserve. At they very least they could mention his retirement on Raw. They did. Remember a little while back when commentary made an off-handed remark about him being retired? I think that was news to even Christian himself. Okay I'll grant you that. But he deserves far better. They didn't want to. Christian was around when WWE was still making stars. He was repeatedly overlooked, that's why he went to TNA. If my memory is correct, he came back because they made him a big money offer that TNA couldn't beat. from what i read he can't pass a physical and so the wwe just kind of took him behind the barn so to speak. certainly deserved a send off...i'm not even a fan overall of the guy but he was in a lot of great matches.
all that said, it actually surprises me that he ever got into the wwe in the first place. he just wasn't really impressive at anything in particular.

It's a shame he went out like he did, but at least he got a well deserved world title run. That makes me OK with this decision.

i just want to know what the REAL story is here. like apparently he got some concussions, ok, but i dont recall it ever being legitimately reported
but then he didnt wrestle for over a year, like at all...then he has that appearance on RAW where they're like "retired superstar Christian" and everyone's like "WTF?"....then Christian's like "i'm not retired", but then he's literally never on TV again.
and now he's just gone.
it's SO WEIRD

What are some of you talking about?
WWE had Christian retire for his own health. They didn't do this to screw him over. They weren't being disrespectful. They didn't diminish his accomplishments. Had they given him a final match he could suffer from it for the rest of his life. I love Christian (top 5 favorites of all time) but there is no "one more match", there is no retirement angle. He a father and a husband. And his health is top priority.
That's like asking where was Edge's retirement match. Or Corey Graves' retirement angle?

Man, that sucks. Christian was always one of my favorites. I really would have liked to see a nice little retirement angle for him. This. I think they could be had him feud with Rollins in a title vs career match with Seth winning.

Not surprising. He accomplished everything he could have, probably a little more than I ever would have expected. He was never really big star material, so I can understand why he never got a huge send-off.

About time. He looked really ill and Simpsons-esque over the last few years, and his performances weren't great at all. The wrestling lifestyle wasn't doing him any favours, and he was never going to accomplish anything further so it's best to call it quits on his career. I look forward to him being added to the Hall of Fame in the next few years.

I think the problem people have is that they didn't even acknowledge his WWE career ending. Not giving him a final match is okay if it was for his health. But they didn't even let us know or thank him for his accomplishments (he played just as big a role as Edge did in reinvigorating the tag division and had a great singles career). The thank you didn't even have to be on the air. It could have been on there website. But they didn't even do that.

But maybe they have something planned for the network and they're still working on it?
