The big 3-0. I've been into wrestling figures since I was in 6th grade when I started watching back in '98. Before then it was Marvel toys, but all the cartoons seemed to have ended by then. Then I stopped just after the first TTL figures came out. I think I bought all the first series TTL and the entrance stage, but I liked BCA way more. Then I went into high school and stopped.
Years later I happened to go to RSC and saw that Jakks had a new style of toys that looked pretty cool. I was a huge Bret and HBK fan so I bought the first Classic Superstars Bret Hart and RVD and the WM14 2-pack with HBK and that awful post-TTL Stone Cold. Then I realized I wanted to play with them and would need more figures to do so. So I kept buying more and more, mixing classics that I was a big fan of and regular roster guys. Then I realized I needed that real scale ring after it came out. I didn't buy too many figures but I bought all the cool ones. Then I stopped.
Once CM Punk was on top of the world, I realized I really wanted a CM Punk figure (I was a huge fan of his from his first day since I'm also straight edge) and saw that Mattel was doing some cooler stuff than Jakks did. So I got him. And I needed more because I wanted to play. So then I figured, hell, let's get everyone we can. And then the basic ring was too small. So I needed a bigger ring. And on and on it went and now I try to keep a full current roster and try to get all the flashbacks I can to build up the rosters for those eras.
There will be a point where I give up on current roster altogether and just focus on classic guys. I'm not sure when that will happen, though.

39. Collected LJN's as a youth, then I was decidedly too cool for toys. I started back with Jakks Series 3 in 96-97, went back and recollected the LJN's I sold a year or two earlier, and a complete Hasbro collection w/ yellow ring and in bag mailaways, complete including all UK and full accessory Galoob. Then sold off a good 75 percent of my collection due to the demands of my ex-wife.

I'm 29 and I have no interest in ever stopping. Even if it is t wrestling in ten years, then it'll simply be something else. I'm big on art and toys are in fact art. I'd argue it with a naysayer all day long.

I stopped really collecting shortly after the switch to Mattel (I was still buying the odd figure here and there but mainly of my favourites) but I came back into it like wildfire in the last year or so. And I just turned 25.
