The constant replays during big matches annoys the hell out of me. It just ruins the momentum of the match.
Brock shoving the doctor last Sunday was barely visible on camera because they had to show us a replay of what happened prior.

1) Lack of build to major events and matches 2) Giving away matches that are occurring at the next PPV on Raw. Recent example, Kane vs Rollins the week before HIAC. Countless others. 3) Fans who refuse to believe being TV-PG puts limits on storytelling and character development4) Midcard and lower tier wrestlers not having storylines or characters. But how does it? I agree with everything else you said, but that stands out. Many movies/TV Shows have told great stories with a PG rating or less. Let me ask you this. If Stone Cold debuted this year, Does Steve Austin get over today and become the biggest draw in wrestling history with the PG restrictions? My hypothesis is no, no chance. And there in lies the problem. Who else are they holding back by severely limiting what can and can't be said on WWE programming. As for other TVPG shows telling great stories, I've mentioned this in the past threads, almost every cable network has moved towards a TV14 and TVMA. Almost all of the critical acclaimed series are 14 and above. The trend in TV was to move towards more gritty mature programming and WWE went in the exact opposite direction.

Yes, I honestly can see Steve Austin getting over nowadays, with proper booking of course. I see this as possible because Dean Ambrose, who has a very similar character, is one of, if not the most over in the company.
Yes, it's true that the biggest TV shows nowadays are TVMA and TV14, such as Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones, this doesn't mean WWE can't be PG and not be successful.

To this day, I still cannot believe that the miz is employed by this company. More jaw-dropping is that he was once WWE champion and headlined a Wrestlemania.

I'd like your thoughts on a PG version of Stone Cold getting over as I had thrown out in the first part of my post.

5. Main roster divas booking. The current divas roster is absolutely stacked with talent. Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Paige, Nikki Bella, and more. The fact that the booking team aren't competent enough to actually use them like actual wrestlers, in actual feuds and actual matches with actual meaning, just baffles me. I realise that gushing about how much better than main roster WWE NXT is, but it's so true. Take Sasha Banks. At TakeOver: Brooklyn, she put on a ***** match of the year. The next night, she was the first person eliminated in a pointless 6 man tag team match that went absolutely nowhere. 4. The PWG crowd. I love PWG. I think it's pretty well established that they're basically my favourite company in the world. With that being said, their shows are marred by easily the worst, smarkiest, most arrogant crowd in professional wrestling today. Throughout every match, you're guaranteed to hear them yelling crap like " YOU ___" and other stupid chants to try and get themselves more over than the wrestlers. I hate it. It's so annoying. 3. Non-wrestler women. This goes for girls like Cameron, Eva Marie, Kelly Kelly, Dana Brooke and more who quite clearly had not wrestled a single match in their life before coming to WWE. I don't have any problems with these girls on a personal level, I'm sure that they're all very nice people, but the fact that WWE thought it would be ok to push them into the spotlight after like two weeks of training is inexcusable. They should all have been kept down in the performance centre (or developmental in Kelly Kelly's case) and stayed there until they were at least decent in the ring. 2. The Internet Wrestling Community. Let me start off by saying that I don't hate anyone in the IWC (well, mostly, anyway). But there are a number of things that piss me off about it. I could go on and on about their continued, unabashed hatred of guys like John Cena, their misinformed rants about how "PG sux bring bak da TV14!!!!1!" and more, but I'll stop because I'll be going on for hours. 1. Main roster booking/the current product. Why is it that with a roster chock full of talented guys like Cesaro, Neville, Jack Swagger, Stardust, Kevin Owens, Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Rusev, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, and countless others that they're all left to take a back seat to old stars and left to toil in the midcard for the entirety of their career? It drives me nuts. Since he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania, Seth Rollins has defended it at every PPV since. His opponents include Brock Lesnar, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Kane and Sting. Two of those men are new stars. Everyone else has been forced to take a back seat to the likes of Kane and Sting. Don't get me wrong; I like Kane and Sting, but the mere thought that two men in their fifties are being picked ahead of young talent like Owens and Cesaro is ridiculous. In a few years, guys like Cesaro and Ziggler, who are fast approaching their mid-late thirties, will be done with their careers and we'll end up looking at them like we do at Shelton Benjamin. Could have been a main event player, but WWE just wouldn't pull the trigger. The only true "new stars" that have been built up over the past year are Rollins and Reigns. It's ridiculous.

How about Flash, Big Bang, Modern Family, etc? Those are tv pg and LOVED the hindrance is poor booking, writing, and poor story telling Stone Cold got over because they told a good story and allowed him to be himself. You can say hell in a pg show, as well as ass, so ALL of SCSA's catchphrases would have been fine, he still could have fueded with Vince. If you look back on it, the sex, gratuitous violence, and satanic stuff is what pulled the rating up, and none of that is needed. I like taker better as the deadman, the sex was stupid and unnecessary, and you can have a good match without gratuitous violence, sometimes its needed, ie a hell in a cell match needs to be brutal. As mentioned before, Ambrose has many similar qualities as Austin, and he is over and could easily be pushed as a main guy Tv PG is not the problem

The problem I have has been around for a LONG time.
Performers NOT acknowledging the camera in backstage segments. It's ridiculous and takes away the realism that wrestlings branch of entertainment is supposed to provide. I want to believe, I want to suckered in.
This whole thing where some performer is backstage talking to the authority and then the camera does a close up of the performers face to convey some kind of emotion or reaction that's not meant to be seen. It's worse than a day time soap opera and hurts wrestling on every level.
Cameras should always be acknowledged.

You do realise that going back to TV 14 wouldn't affect the product at all, right? All it would mean is more blood and swearing. The problem isn't the fact that it's rated PG. The problem is that the writers are incompetent, stuck in the past, and don't listen to what the people want. The rating has nothing at all to do with the product quality.

I would be fine with them not acknowledging the camera if they STOPPED CUTTING TO THE AUDIENCE DURING THE MIDDLE OF SEGMENTS. It completely ruins the immersion. They don't acknowledge the camera but they don't try to pretend they aren't being filmed either.

You can say those words on TVPG shows but WWE doesn't allow it. Hence my point, they constrain themselves even within their restrictions. I guarantee an unfiltered Ambrose promo is better than a watered down TVPG version.

The way that people backstage face the television monitors. You know, with their body facing the camera and their head turned towards the monitor.

50/50 booking and commentating are certainly at the very top of my list. They compliment each other in the worst of ways. The talent has a hard enough time getting over because of the booking as it stands, and the lack of genuine enthusiasm from the commentary team makes it feel that much worse. I feel like they're constantly talking down to me. They don't call the matches. They don't properly tell stories. They do more to hurt the guys in the ring than get them over. It's a significant problem.

My top annoyances are: 1. Old timers like Big Show and Kane getting big PPV matches. 2. People hating John Cena. 3. Dean Ambrose being a mid carder 4. TNA still existing 5. Raw being too long

The number 1 thing that annoys me is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON who wrestles John Cena attempts to clothsline him after taking the shoulder tackles. The missed clothesline turns them around and allows Cena to side slam them down and set up the 5 knuckle shuffle.
After how many years of Cena hitting the same exact comeback sequence.....if this was real life, you would think everyone woud know exactly what he was going to do and stop falling for it. But sure enough, everyone that wrestles him swings like a wild man after taking the shoulder tackles.
And this is different than other wrestlers signature moves or comeback sequences, because yeah, most wrestlers do hit pretty much the same moves in the same order during EVERY match...but John Cena's comeback sequence is one of the only ones I can think of that actually requires the other person to do something.
If John Cena shoulder tackles me and I don't swing at him after, I'm not going to spin around and have my back to him for the rest of the sequence.

5. Narrow minded 'writing' in WWE - well, if you are sports entertainment, you're certainly not booked on the same vein as pro wrestling is
4. Commentary everywhere except Japan - selfishly the only commentary that interests me is in a language I can't understand
3. Fans and their need to be more over than the wrestlers themselves - PWG, Full Sail, Raw after WM, etc.
2. The notion that WWE is what people instantly think of when they hear the word 'wrestling'. I almost put this at number one.
1. The complete lack of ring psychology in all its forms - and no, a match that features tons of near falls and tit-for-tat moves done does NOT equal 'GOAT match' and other rubbish. Lorenzo Alcazar's offering ties into what I'm talking about.
HM: Really this is a subset of point 3 - as it pertains to fans. Fans who review shows, wrestlers like they're the second coming of Dave Meltzer annoy the hell out of me...we get it, you think you're important, but IMO - you're anything but.
