Surprised at all of the titles being retained. Also dug the idea of a Shelley/Sabin draw. I look forward to seeing what you do with this, though it should be called ROH 2016 considering this was Final Battle.

Ring of Honor WrestlingPre-show: Adam Page defeated Rhett Titus via pinfall after an interference by BJ Whitmer Pre-Show: ACH defeated Caprice Coleman via pinfall
Nigel McGuiness kicked us off by welcoming us to the first episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling in 2016 and informing us that there will be a triple threat match for the number one contendership to the Ring of Honor World Championship. It was also highlighted that Prince Nana will be joining us on commentary for the entire evening.
After what he considers an embarrassing defeat at Final Battle 2015, "The Last Real Man" Silas Young took out some frustrations by beating Will Ferrara by pinfall.
Truth Martini made his way to the ring accompanied by House of Truth member Donovan Dijak and a young wrestler from the local independent scene. He spoke on how much he loves giving the younger generation opportunity, and revealed to us that if the local talent he brought with him can win his match tonight then he will officially be inducted into the House of Truth.
In the first tag team bout of 2016 Jay Briscoe grabbed a win alongside his brother Mark Briscoe by pinning the local talent. Throughout the match the local guy looked ambitious, but was absolutely overwhelmed by the pace of a Ring of Honor match. Donovan Dijak did all the heavy lifting in the match, even having a chance to grab the win over a stunned Mark Briscoe, but the local talent tagged Dijak from behind and ended up blowing the makeshift tag team's chances.
After the match Donovan Dijak trailed a furious Truth Martini to the back, but not before shaking the hand and receiving the praise of Prince Nana.
As a reinvigorated Dalton Castle made his entrance it became apparent that Roderick Strong would have a challenge on his hands. The Party Peacock strutted with a new found electricity coming off not only pinning Silas Young at Final Battle 2015, but winning his boys back over. As expected, the Ring of Honor Television champion Roderick Strong looked to control the pace of the match from the beginning, but Castle remained resolute throughout. Castle displayed an impressive physical ability with his move set that featured a surprising amount of dead-lift suplexes. In the end, Castle pulled out the victory with a sunset flip powerbomb off the turnbuckle that was aided by the fanning of Strong by Castle's boys. With this win over the Ring of Honor Television Champion, Dalton Castle earned himself a title shot on next week's episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling!
Before our main event of the evening Adam Cole reminded us of his impressive win over Kyle O'Reilly at Final Battle 2015, citing the fact that O'Reilly is not at the event tonight.
In our main event of the evening Adam Cole impressed as promised with a pinfall victory over Matt Sydal. The match was essentially a seventeen minute mayhem barely contained by the barricades around the ring. Michael Elgin was the force to be reckoned with as he took both opponents to suplex city on many occasions. Sydal impressed as usual with his swift kicks and high flying offense, but it was the wrestling intelligence of Adam Cole that proved to be the difference. Sydal went to the top rope for his famous Shooting Star Press, but Elgin countered with a top rope Elgin bomb! Cole quickly saw the opportunity and clotheslined Elgin over the top rope to open the window for the pinfall. "Here's your winner and the number one contender to the Ring of Honor World Championship, Adam Cole!"
