Note: the (short) results for the first night of the three-day tag trios tournament was posted in my info thread. Here is a direct link.
NIGHT #1 | November 28, 2015
A video package highlighting the results of Friday night’s opening round tournament matches in the Tag Trios Tournament began the show. Static broke up the video and then highlights from last month’s INSIDIOUS event were shown, including Samoa Joe’s beatdown of Alberto and subsequent 90-day suspension. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome everyone to the show from ringside, a group of fans loudly cheering right beside them in a VIP section near the stage.
MATCH #1: “Hardcore Attitude” vs. “Money & Power” (Tag Trios Championship Quarterfinals)
The APA and Tommy Dreamer walk down the ramp first, entering to the familiar tune of Bradshaw and Faarooq back in the day. A call back to the night before, the Godfather enters the arena alongside the men, who all get a mixed but mostly positive reaction. The self-proclaimed premier team of SLAM! Wrestling makes their way to the ring next, hearing it from the crowd. Big E Langston starts in the ring against Bradshaw while MVP and Mark Henry wait in their corner. Langston and his team quickly take it to Bradshaw, forcing him to tag out to Dreamer. Money & Power builds heat on Dreamer for several minutes, eventually having a pinfall disrupted by the Godfather on the outside! Mark Henry jumps off the apron and grabs Godfather, slamming him hard into the ring steps. Faarooq and Bradshaw run around the ring to help their fallen friend. The referee yells at everyone to get back to their corner. Meanwhile, Big E holds Dreamer in place while MVP sets up for a Drive-By Kick – but Dreamer releases himself at the last minute and MVP nails Big E! Dreamer grabs MVP and hits him with a DDT, crawling to his corner, but no one is there! By the time Bradshaw and Faarooq get back, Big E grabs Dreamer’s ankle and pulls him back into the ring. Henry and MVP run across the ring, knocking down Faarooq and Bradshaw. Dreamer tries to get some offense against Big E, but he grabs him and plants him with the Big Ending for the pinfall victory. Jim Ross accuses them of using the “numbers game,” but Heyman reminds him that Hardcore Attitude was the team with someone at ringside. (12:34)
MATCH #2: Dean Malenko vs. Justin Gabriel vs. Xavier Woods (Super X Cup Qualifying)
Xavier Woods stands in the ring as we return live to the arena. Dean Malenko walks around the ring, barking at a fan before taking off his vest and entering the ring. Malenko goes straight after Xavier Woods, knowing that a win tonight not only puts him in the Super X Cup Championship match tomorrow night but also in the night’s battle royal for a shot at the World Class Championship. Before he can get too far into beating down Woods, Malenko is joined by the “Darewolf” Justin Gabriel who runs into the ring. Despite Malenko’s best efforts to slow it down, this one is fast and furious action. Gabriel quickly takes control of the match, taking Malenko out of the action and out-speeding Woods. Eventually, he knocks Woods down in the corner with a Pele kick. Gabriel climbs the ropers and hits Woods with the 450 Splash. Before he can get the pinfall, Malenko pulls him from the ring, slamming him against the steps shoulder-first. Malenko climbs into the ring and pins Woods, his feet up on the ropes for a pinfall victory. Taking the pinfall, Woods is eliminated from the Super X Cup match on Sunday, though Gabriel moves on despite Malenko stealing his shot. (8:49)
MATCH #3: “Revolution” vs. “The Underground” (Tag Trios Championship Quarterfinals)
Big Ryck, Chavo Guerrero, and Johnny Mundo of the Underground make their way to the ring as we return to the inside of the arena. A scream echoes through the arena and the three women of the “Revolution” enter the ring next, with Paige leading Charlotte Flair and Emma to the ring. Big Ryck starts out in the ring with the women, and they take turns trying to take him down in a bit of comedy. Emma goes for a running cross body on the big man, but he catches her in midair. Paige comes off the top rope as he laughs at Emma and he catches her as well. With bot h of them in his arms, Charlotte climbs into the ring, runs the ropes and finally knocks down Ryck with a spear! This brings all three men into the ring and a pier six brawl erupts. The match continues to be hard-hitting and fast-paced with the women looking to keep Ryck out of the action as much as possible. They finally accomplish that for good, as Charlotte and Emma move out of the way of a moonsault attempt by Mundo to the outside, pulling Ryck in the way, and knocking them both out of the match. Meanwhile, in the ring Paige locks the PTO on Chavo Guerrero for a submission victory! (10:21)
MATCH #4: Jamie Noble vs. KimberLee vs. Silver Ant (Super X Cup Qualifying)
Noble and Colter are down near the ring as we return to the arena, Noble waving his Gadsden flag. Colter yells at JR and Heyman that the powers that be are spreading a liberal agenda against them. Princess KimberLee makes her way to the ring next, receiving an incredibly warm reaction from the crowd, who start a “She’s a wrestler!” chant. Silver Ant walks to the ring, slapping hands at ringside. The three battle it out in a fast-paced, quick-hitting traditional cruiserweight three-way dance. Noble tries to convince Silver Ant to double team Kimber several times, but each time is rebuffed, the first time with Silver planting him with a big spinebuster. Kimber climbs the top rope to attempt a move against Noble, but he knocks her from the ring. Silver Ant charges Noble in the corner, but he dodges. Noble plants Silver Ant with the Gibson Driver and goes for the pinfall. Kimber tries to get back into the ring to break it up, but Zeb Colter grabs her ankles. Noble picks up the pinfall victory, and the field is set for tomorrow’s Super X Cup match: Noble vs. Malenko vs. Kimber vs. Gabriel. Noble and Zeb clear out before Kimber can get revenge, though she’ll have a chance on Sunday afternoon. (13:09)
MATCH #5: “The Devil’s Rejects” vs. “D-Generation X” (Tag Trios Championship Quarterfinals)
Barretta, Brian Meyers, and Chris Hero make their way to the ring first, ignoring the crowd around them though they get a mixed reaction. The remaining representatives of Three Rope Wrestling, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg make their way to the ring next. The Outlaws get in some of their signature offense, but it doesn’t take long for the numbers game to come into play. Though they had the numbers advantage, the finish came as Barretta and Gunn brawled on the outside, distracting the referee. Meyers nailed Road Dogg with his cane and Hero knocks him out with the Lucky Elbow for a pinfall victory. (9:03)
MATCH #6: Rob Conway vs. Sting (Best of a Bygone Era)
“The Icon” Sting makes his way to the ring first, receiving a warm reaction from the crowd. A drumroll begins the entrance of “The Iron Man,” SLAM! Hall of Famer Rob Conway. The two men shake hands as the crowd roars in excitement. They lock up and have a brief feeling-out period before really laying into each other. The match is a pretty standard showcase of both men’s skill, receiving a “You’ve still got it!” chant for both men. Ever the heel, Conway locks Sting in the Scorpion Death Lock but can’t get the submission victory. The two men continue to battle it out a bit longer, Sting eventually getting the upperhand and locking in the Lock himself, but Conway gets to the ropes. Conway hits Sting with a stiff palm strike and then plants him with his rope-hung swinging neckbreaker, The Iron Lung, for a pinfall victory. After the match, the two men shake hands. (10:42)
MATCH #7: “The Shield” vs. “SLAM! All Stars” (Tag Trios Championship Quarterfinals)
The reunited Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins make their way to the ring first, leaping over the barricade on separate corners of the ring. The team of Adrian Neville, C.M. Punk, and Sami Zayn enter together, and as they do, JR and Paul Heyman run down the precursor to this match which was the unaired SLAM! match for WF Network’s “November to Remember” where Ambrose defeated Neville in a no disqualification match. This one proves to be the match of the night, lasting nearly 20 minutes with each man getting at least a showcase moment. Reigns and Zayn are alone in the ring in the closing moments, but the drama occurs on the outside. Ambrose drags CM Punk along the crowd barrier when suddenly a fan comes running up from a row or two back and throws beer in the face of Ambrose! He stumbles back, and the female fan runs away, but not before the camera catches it as the same fan who jumped the barricade to help CM Punk last month at Insidious! Rollins comes over to help Ambrose, but Neville climbs the ropes. He hits a shooting star press to the outside, knocking out both men! Meanwhile, in the ring, Roman Reigns sets Sami Zayn up for a spear, but he ends up eating the ring post. Zayn rolls out of the way, and waits for Roman to turn around before hitting him with the Helluva Kick! Zayn pulls Roman to the mat and grabs the pinfall victory for his team! (18:34)
MAIN EVENT: Adam Rose w/Rosebuds vs. Adrian Neville vs. Big E Langston vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Celeste Bonin vs. vs. Charlotte Flair vs.C.M. Punk vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Curtis Axel vs. Dean Malenko vs. Emma vs. Goldust vs. Jamie Noble w/Zeb Colter vs. Luke Harper vs. Mark Henry vs. MVP vs. Paige vs. Rob Conway vs. Rusev w/Lana vs. Sami Zayn (Battle Royal – Winner faces Tyler Breeze for World Class Championship on Sunday)
Each competitor gets a brief introduction with music as he or she enters the arena, with the final entrant being a bit of a surprise with “Iron Man” Rob Conway returning to the ring, apparently qualifying for the battle royal with his win over Sting earlier in the night. Once the bell sounds, the four women in the match make an immediate impact as – reminiscent of many a battle royal before where competitors team up against the largest competitor – the quartet each grabs a hold of Jamie Noble and tosses him from the ring! Zeb Colter cries foul on the outside but the match continues. Goldust becomes the next man eliminated when his own brother and partner grabs him by the nape of the neck and tosses him over the ropes. Rhodes shrugs his shoulders while Goldust pounds his fist on the ring steps in anger. The match splits up into several one-on-one or two-on-two battles, and Luke Harper makes Curtis Axel the next elimination with a big lariat over the ropes. Sami Zayn sends Paige into the ropes, and Noble leaps up from the floor and pulls down the top rope, sending her tumbling to the ground. The two rivals brawl on the outside as the match continues with officials eventually coming down to separate them. Rusev tosses Adam Rose over the top rope and he lands on his Rosebuds, but the partiers aren’t ready to catch their leader as they all crash to the floor below. Zayn picks up his second elimination of the night, flipping MVP over the ropes in the corner with a giant Helluva Kick. Dean Malenko and Rob Conway lock up along the side of the ring, and Celeste runs over and dumps them both over the ropes. They each land on the apron, but Conway catches himself to be slightly under the ropes. Celeste and Emma each see the two men laying on the side of the ring and team up, each hitting a baseball slide dropkick to send Conway and Malenko flying off the apron! One referee signals Malenko out while another says Conway was able to get back under the ropes before the kick. Sami Zayn is the next man eliminated, with Luke Harper following up Zayn’s Helluva Kick with a giant clothesline in the corner and flipping him to the outside. Before Emma can celebrate her elimination of Malenko, she runs into one of her opponents from Sunday night’s Tag Trios Semifinals, Mark Henry, who plants her with a World’s Strongest Slam and then tosses her out of the ring. On the other side of the ring, the remaining member of the Revolution, Charlotte, is in dire straits as CM Punk tosses her to the corner. He taunts and then runs at her for his patented knee lift, but she catches him in mid-air and dumps him over the ropes! Harper continues to run roughshod through the competition, picking up yet another elimination as he reverses a Neville frankensteiner attempt into a powerbomb over the ropes. Rusev runs at Harper as he leans into the ropes, but the greasy-haired brawler avoids a leaper savate kick attempt by the Bulgarian Brute and flips him over the ropes as well. Henry picks up his second elimination, catching Cody Rhodes in mid-air during a Disaster Kick attempt and slamming him over the ropes, as he lands spine-first across the ring apron. Bryan Danielson gets in his first elimination, nailing Mark Henry’s tag team partner, Big E over the ropes with a leaping knee strike! Danielson slides into a corner, where he spots Charlotte charging at him from the corner of his eye. He slips out of the way, sending Charlotte shoulder-first into the ring post on a spear attempt. He pulls her back and dumps her out of the ring.
Danielson, Henry, Harper, and Celeste all stand tall in the ring among the final competitors. Harper and Henry lock horns as Danielson and Celeste look on. Henry shows why he’s the World’s Strongest Man by powering Harper to the side of the ring. While the two behemoths continue to push each other toward the ropes, Celeste and American Dragon run up behind them and dump both men out of the ring! The pair stand exchanging stiff strikes – Celeste with clubbing forearms and Danielson with kicks. Eventually, the American Dragon gets the best of her and the crowd begins a “Yes! Yes! Yes!” chant along with each kick. He hits her with a dropkick that sends her back into the corner. Danielson lifts her up like a suplex and places her in a seated position on the top rope. He begins to climb after her, setting her up for a superplex when Ron Conway, who was never eliminated, slides back into the ring. As the two stand on the ropes with Danielson preparing to lift Celeste, Conway runs across the ring and knocks both to the floor below! The Hall of Famer wins the shot at the SLAM! World Class Championship! (24:29)
Conway celebrates in the ring as JR and Heyman go over the controversial decision by the referee to say the “Iron Man” had gotten himself back in the ring enough to avoid elimination despite being knocked to the outside. As they return to the arena, officials check on Celeste and Bryan Danielson who took a major spill to the outside. Tyler Breeze’s music hits over the speakers and “Prince Pretty” walks out on the entranceway. He smirks while holding his selfie stick out towards Conway, who responds by making a “belt” motion around his waist as the show comes to a close.
Backstage, Commissioner Fitzsimmons is talking on a cell phone while Joey Mercury and Big in Japan (Giant Bernard and Luke Gallows) stand by in his office. “Yes, I represent the ownership group of SLAM! Wrestling here in the United States. We’d like to set up a meeting with Seth Cronyn of 3NWPRO and other representatives of SUMMIT PRO while we are visiting your great country next month. Yes, I know they are quite busy. We’d just like to learn more about the Japanese wrestling culture before we bring our product over there. Yes. Well, please pass along my message.” He puts down his cell phone as the door to the office bursts open, with Prince Balor standing before him. “You’re not supposed to—” Fitzsimmons starts, but Balor interrupts. “That’s exactly the problem, Fitz. I am supposed to be here. But you haven’t booked me.” Fitzsimmons says, “You know that I’m just a representative. I don’t sign the checks.” Finn says, “The only thing I know about your checks is that mine are coming far too infrequently. So, I’m taking matters into my own hands. I’d like you to meet the Balor Club.” Fitzsimmons tries to stand up, but Gallows and Bernard each put a hand on his shoulder, pushing him down into the chair once again. “It’s a shame I didn’t form this idea until after your little tournament was announced – but we’ll be watching.” The trio leaves the office, and Mercury gives a worried sigh as Fitzsimmons starts to dial a number on his phone.
NIGHT #1 | November 28, 2015

Jim Ross accuses them of using the “numbers game,” but Heyman reminds him that Hardcore Attitude was the team with someone at ringside. (12:34)
JR and Heyman switch gears, going over the events of last night as The Hurricane and his “Super Friends” took on Money & Power in the first round of the tournament. After the match, the lights in the arena dimmed and gold confetti showered the ring, a voice echoing through the speakers “Hero… You’re getting COLDER!” before a cackling laugh signed off. This leads to a backstage segment from earlier in the day when Hurricane and Matt Hardy confronted Goldust! Goldust claims innocence, but Cody Rhodes interrupts: “Listen, Hurricane, I know you’re having some issues but Dust’ wasn’t even in town yet. We weren’t in action until tonight’s battle royal.” Hurricane adds, “I’m not ruling out YOUR involvement either, Cody. We all know your alter ego.” The Ascension and Solomon Crowe walk into the picture, and Crowe says “Look, I understand you boys need some extra motivation for tomorrow’s triple threat tag team match against my boys Konnor and Viktor, but it’s just simply not your time.” All three teams start arguing with each other, and the camera pans over to El Torito and Adam Rose sitting at a table nearby. Rose takes a lick of a lollipop, “These guys really need to learn to relax.” El Torito nods.
Malenko climbs into the ring and pins Woods, his feet up on the ropes for a pinfall victory. Taking the pinfall, Woods is eliminated from the Super X Cup match on Sunday, though Gabriel moves on despite Malenko stealing his shot. (8:49)
Ross and Heyman go over a highlight package from Friday night’s Hall of Fame, including the drama involving Three Rope Wrestling’s D-Generation X, Bret Hart, and the Hart Dynasty. Bret Hart attacked Triple H following his Hall of Fame induction, and HHH repaid the favor by helping the SLAM! All Stars knock off the Dynasty in the tournament. This leads us live backstage: X-Pac walks out of the trainer’s room, his elbow taped up after last night’s match. He is immediately jumped by the Hart Dynasty. Kidd and Smith beat down X-Pac while Bret barks out orders and Natalya watches. She spots the Outlaws walking towards them and the four take off down the hallway as Road Dogg and Billy Gunn check on X-Pac.
A video replays last month’s battle between Paige and Jamie Noble, when Noble planted Paige with a second-rope Gibson Driver to pick up a victory in their Flag Match. This leads us to an earlier backstage altercation between Noble, Zeb Colter, and Silver Ant. Colter begins his statement, “Silver – I hope you don’t mind me calling you Silver – I’ve never known a more fitting name for a Great American. Did you know Silver was the name of the Lone Ranger’s horse? Listen: this country was founded by great MEN. I’m not sure where you ants make a living, but I’m sure it’s founded by men as well. And that’s why we need to team up, so to speak, to eliminate the little ‘Princess’ from this match. That way, both the lone ranger, Jamie Noble, and his sidekick Silver can advance to the finals.” Silver Ant stands up from his bench. “Actually, a Colony is built around a Queen. And I am no man’s sidekick.” Silver Ant storms out, ready to make an impact in his SLAM! debut.
Backstage, SLAM!’s head athletic trainer evaluates X-Pac, and gives the bad news to DX: he won’t be able to compete in tonight’s quarterfinal match. The Outlaws will have to go it alone.
During intermission, a commercial airs once again for the December 18 SLAM! event live from Tokyo, Japan – SLAM! RISING. Highlighting some pretaped vignettes of SLAM!’s top stars including Celeste Bonin, Tyler Breeze, Sami Zayn, Bryan Danielson, and Money & Power among others, it closes on a man in shadows performing kicks. A light turns on above him revealing KENTA – and the voiceover announces he will make his return at the event. Newly added at the end from last month’s show, the Balor Club flashes across the to end the video.
Rob Conway's SLAM! Hall of Fame induction speech airs to close out intermission.
Backstage, Triple H and the Outlaws enter Gregg Fitzsimmons’ office. “Welcome, H.O.F.,” Fitzsimmons says. “How can I help you?” HHH pulls at his neck tie. “I’ve had with Bret Hart and the Hart Dynasty messing with us. They took out X-Pac, they cost my guys in this tournament. I want a match. Tomorrow. The three of us against Hart, Kidd, and Davey Boy. Make it happen.” Fitsimmons puts his cell phone down on the table in front of him. “You know, typically, I have to pass these things by the ownership group. But even I see money in that one. Let’s do it.”
A pretaped and submitted interview with Samoa Joe airs at this time. Joe, sarcastically, asks how the show is going without their biggest star. He claims to have been cheated, that Alberto got a lucky shot on him, and that the referee used a fast count. He says he isn’t missing any paydays as a result of his SLAM! suspension, that he’s booked solid the next few months. “So, who is really being punished for this?”
MAIN EVENT: Adam Rose w/Rosebuds vs. Adrian Neville vs. Big E Langston vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Celeste Bonin vs. vs. Charlotte Flair vs.C.M.
