Ten years ago TNA was on fire.
Christian Cage had just made his debut and went against Team Canada and Jarrett's alliance.
AJ Styles was dominating the X-Division and was getting ready to do battle with Samoa Joe for the X-Division Title.
The Dudleys were Team 3D and were looking to be the next NWA Tag Champions in their war with America's Most Wanted.
Jeff Jarrett had just beat Rhino to become NWA World Champion once again and was now being haunted by the arrival of Sting to TNA.
The X-Division had Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Sonjay Dutt, Matt Bentley and Christopher Daniels.
Team Canada could do no wrong as heels and were on the verge of breaking out into stardom.
And now.... TNA is a shell of its former self. It's kind of sad in a way how different a 10 year span can look for a wrestling organization.

Dude you are very very right. Best period in TNA aside from 2002-2004 my personal favorite.

I have every DVD of TNA's output in 2005...they were on fire, as you said; they even won 'Promotion Of The Year' in defunct UK magazine Powerslam!
Can't believe how wrong it all went...

2005 had some of it's own flaws but the product seemed so fresh they were hidden quite well.

Ya that was a great time for TNA.You had all of the true TNA guys in their primes are close to it with Styles,Joe,Daniels,MCMG,Team Canada,Abyss,Brown...ect lead by Jeff Jarrett and where bringing in new faces to the company in Christian,The Dudley Boyz and their first really big named signing in STING.A now TNA is a shell of that in terms of talent with the only interesting ones left in Angle(gone in the next month),Roode,Hardy Boyz,Young and to a lot lesser degree sense he's a shell of himself now in Abyss. Not much left for talent or really any true TNA guys besides the ones I listed.

2005-2008 made me think that TNA could seriously be a heavyweight challenger to WWE. It was still doing well through 2009 but Hogan seriously did kill TNA. As soon as he came in all the trash came in with him The Nasty Boys, Bubba the Love Sponge, 4 Sided Ring, Scott Hall, X-Pac, etc... Mix in trying to recreate storylines from 14 years ago (Hogan turning heel and taking over the company with basically everyone on the roster) and it was just a recipe for disaster.
I'll say that Christian Cage was a huge part in TNA's success during the 2005-2008 timeframe as well. He couldn't have been more golden during his time in TNA.

2004-05 was my favourite TNA period. Mad to think that it was 10 years ago now.
