We all (well at least those on the TNA board) watched TNA for the couple of years Eric was there. We all saw how much he damaged the company. After watching the JBL interview with Bischoff, I just don't understand what went wrong. Why couldn't he help them like he did to WCW at the beginning of his run? He said he wished he could get another chance at running a company because he has learned a lot since WCW closed. But he did get another chance and it failed. Was he just not as involved in TNA as the internet perceives? Was he just not motivated there? Was he just plain wrong when it came to writing and running the company when he was there? For anybody who saw the man JBL interviewed and then watched TNA in 2010, what happened and what went wrong?

Also, funnily enough: Eric Bischoff Shoots Hard On TNA Wrestling By Matt Boone on June 20, 2007 at 3:27 PM EST Eric said on the World Wrestling Insanity radio show that he gets many questions on his website about TNA. Many fans want to know if they're the next WCW or if he'll ever go to work for them. Here is what he had to say: "They have not done anything yet and I don’t even know any of those people except maybe Jeff Jarrett and a handful of talent working there. I don't know anyone behind the (scenes). I don't know Dixie Carter. If she showed up in my driveway, I wouldn't recognize her. I don't know anyone over there. I don't know who's doing what. I really don't care. So it's nothing personal here. I'd like to see them succeed…But the truth is, from what I've seen of their product, no one there really gets it. They're a small independent company that's been getting a 1.0 rating for the last five years. ..They keep trying to pull rabbits out of their hat with talent. 'Oh we're gonna bring in Sting and that's gonna turn the business around! ' Well, they brought in Sting, who's obviously a great talent, and guess what? Nothing happened. And then 'We're gonna bring in Christian Cage. It's a big surprise. He's hot in WWE and we got him and it's gonna turn things around.' Guess what? Nothing happened. Then 'We're gonna bring in Kurt Angle and he's the real deal. Things are gonna turn around!' Guess what? Nothing happened. Nothing's ever gonna happen until they get it."

Production was awesome. It really stepped up. Even Reaction was awesome. That I truly attribute to Bischoff.

Because he and Hogan literally stripped everything that made TNA unique away from it, and made it WCW: The Golden Years. Nobody wants to watch the ing Nasty Boys in 2010. Nobody wants AJ Styles to become Naitch Jr. Nobody wants to see the nWo being the focal point of the show. Nobody wants Orlando Jordan squirting lotion onto his chest. They just rehashed every single thing that sunk WCW. Then going head-to-head with RAW... that was a brilliant plan.

They had huge contracts, they gave their buddies huge contracts and they took TNA on the road when it clearly wasn't the right time. Messing with the X Division was stupid too. "Let's take the one thing people still like about us and ruin it." The only people that didn't get TNA were Hogan and Bischoff.

IRS pretty much nailed my answer.
As long as Dixie is involved with TNA, they will never succeed. Doesn't matter who they bring in.

If Bischoff came in without Hogan and was given complete free reign over the product he probably could have helped TNA grow.
Hogan came in and did was he always does and that is give all his buddies top spots and hold down anyone he didn't deem worthy.

Hogan and Bischoff came in and immediately tried to compete with WWE. Huge mistake. They also de-pushed or got rid of all of the TNA Originals in favor of ex-WWE and ex-WCW wrestlers who shouldn't even have been wrestling at that point. So if you tuned into TNA, instead of seeing new, young stars, you were seeing washed up guys from the late 80's and 90's because they were tight with Hogan and Bischoff.
People should be smart enough to realize by now that people are getting SICK of the WWE's product. What somebody should do in America is start a promotion and try to be as DIFFERENT from WWE as humanly possible. Instead, they try and compete with WWE and try and model their product after the WWE with ex-WWE stars for some name recognition , and what it ends up looking like is a crappier version of what people already DON'T LIKE about the WWE.

What somebody should do in America is start a promotion and try to be as DIFFERENT from WWE as humanly possible. There are plenty of promotions that are different from WWE. The problem is, those promotions do not have the money or the promotional ability to make any type of significant money. TNA can't make any money, ROH didn't last on Destination Americao, and except for AXS TV NJPW has no American exposure. WWE unfortunatly has a global presence that is impossible to match or even get close to. Publically traded company, owner who is pretty damn close to being a billionaire, they are the #1 brand that people identify with. Trust me, you can walk into any Indy show operating in a High School gym this weekend and see a better product than what WWE puts out.....the problem is, you can't make money off of what most people don't even know exists or could have access to even if they wanted to. We need a rich person with a good reputation in TV operations to create a company and get on National TV. Money and TV exposure are key...without it, you have no chance. Like I said, good wrestling that people can't see is just spinning your wheels until you go out of business.

I would never hire Dixie Carter to run my business Dixie Carter is the type of person who would own a lemonade stand with only banana juice on the menu. Dixie is the kind of person who will tell you the greatest lemonade of all time is on the way. Then the day of, you find out it's just flat root-beer.
