Just been on the incredibly horrible new website and the first thing on there was a big picture of AJ, so I click on it and here's the article they wrote:
"AJ Styles has always been synonymous with TNA and TNA synonymous with AJ Styles. AJ helped build the foundation of IMPACT WRESTLING, and his phenomenal body of work lives in our rich history – something we are very proud of.
In the last few weeks, rumors have swirled about AJ Styles, his future and TNA Wrestling. Fans have asked for the status and wrestling media have made numerous inquiries.
For the past several months, AJ and TNA were involved in serious discussions to bring him back home to TNA. Creative discussions escalated and two additional wrestlers, Drew Hankinson and Chad Allegra, were enthusiastically added.
These discussions culminated on December 14th in Nashville, Tenn., where all attended a meeting at Dixie Carter’s home. A handshake and written deal between AJ, Drew, Chad and TNA was agreed upon and signed by all. Start dates were determined, creative decided, merchandise designed and plane tickets purchased.
Over the Christmas holiday, and after the lawyers finalized the long form agreement, all communication with TNA stopped.
AJ’s lawyer contacted TNA and stated the wrestlers had changed their mind and would not be honoring their commitment to TNA."
Pretty childish if you ask me. The guy talked with them about the possibility of coming in but a better offer came his way. Don't begrudge him his right to decide what he wants for his own future.

Throwing all of this online further shows the immaturity of TNA. This is so bush league that it's not even funny anymore. It's just really sad.

UPDATE: The LAW spoke to the management for A.J. Styles and they stated to us that no contract was ever signed or finalized by any of the parties.
This is honestly the worst thing TNA has ever done besides treating their workers like crap ala Roxxi. TNA looks pathetic doing this and has undone any of the somewhat goodwill they got over the last episode.

They operate with the "All publicity is good publicity" mindset. Worse, this is essentially a plug for the Royal Rumble.

This has to mean something? Surely there's something here? Why would they just randomly come out with this?

If there's any truth to this, it's AJ's word versus Dixie's, and I'm willing to bet that AJ's word means a while lot more to peers than Dixie's does.
Nothing positive comes out of this for TNA. Nothing.

Watch TNA pull a WWE storyline and debut "New AJ Styles" ala New Diesel and New Razor Ramon.
TNA is truly bush league now. I've tried hard to support them since their inception. But it's literally like they want people to hate them at this point.
OH, and last point: WHO THE HELL HAS BEEN ASKING ABOUT AJ STYLES AND TNA?!? I literally have not seen one person ask whether AJ is returning to TNA in recent memory,

Watch TNA pull a WWE storyline and debut "New AJ Styles" ala New Diesel and New Razor Ramon. I wonder if "The Phenomenal One" is trademarked? They couldn't call him AJ Styles because they don't own that. I could totally see this happening.

How convenient TNA decides to make this statement, at the begging of Royal Rumble weekend, an event where there's been speculation AJ might debut with WWE. Oh, but I'm sure it's nothing but a coincidence. TNA better hope they have something solid to back up this claim, because I'm pretty sure if they don't, they could be left open themselves up for a defamation suit from Styles. From what you always hear about AJ as a person, I seriously, doubt there was anything signed by him, saying he would return to TNA, and then he just decided, oh hey, you know that contract I signed with you, I'm not going to honor that, good luck. My guess, is from the meeting, if it did happen, Dixie might have believed there was a chance of AJ coming back, and that's the extent of a deal being struck. This just comes off as TNA trying to get their name latched back onto AJ, on the eve of what may be his WWE debut, while also trying to make themselves look like they are a victim of AJ being dishonest, which considering what he did for that company is a real spit in his face.

How pathetic does this make them look? Just when you think TNA couldn't look anymore bush league, they do this.

I'm trying to understand the whole verbal agreement, written deal, handshake whatever. This is ridiculous.

TNA got scammed, they're complaining about it and now they're somehow the villains? Come on.

TNA got scammed, they're complaining about it and now they're somehow the villains? Come on. Well the fact that TNA is claiming one thing, AJ's lawyers are claiming another, and the history TNA has, along with AJ pretty much being seen as one of the all around stand up guys in the business, yeah, TNA is going to come out of this looking bad.

"written deal" can refer to any number of signed documents, many of which TNA can't sue the talents over. AJ's lawyer only said they didn't sign a contract, and did not deny the signing of any other document as of now.
