As I was watching old PPV's on WWE network, it got me thinking...... What ever happened to the awesome stage sets, lighting and lighting rigs? I understand that it is a cost cutting move to have the same stage for all shows sans WrestleMania, but in a way it hurts the product. I say that it hurts the product because there seems to be no difference with any show. Which is not good because shouldn't your PPV's and specials have a unique feel? Which leads me to the second part of this post, what is your favorite stage of WWE? Mine is Backlash 2003:

I loved the old MSG set up, it made everything feel more intimate. Beast in the East was great too for that.

I usually don't worry much about the stage. Only because IMO it's what happens in the ring that matters most. And I'd rather they save the money from the set and use it towards other resources. That being said, my favorite stage ever was from Wrestlemania in New York/NJ...

And when that happens we get Kid Rock and Diddy performances that take the spot of a match, or take time off an existing one lol. On another not that stage was tops.

Never once said I wanted them to use it towards a musical performance.

A lot of the arenas from 2001-2008 were so nice.

Even though I'm not an attitude era mark, I loved the gritty stages they had with the old rusty cars, barbed wire, etc. my favorite might be the new generation KOTR stage though, with the doors and the people opening them. I loved that theme

I was there, sat right under the WRESTLEMANIA sign over the ring that is facing the camera in this pic, the stage looked better in person than it did on TV imo. Also, Undertaker and Kane's flames were so god damn hot. Then again, I stood in a t-shirt the entire night, in April, in New Jersey. Not my wisest decision.

This is my favorite WWE entrance stage every year. This is one design they should've definitely kept each year, not the weekly HD Stage for every thing. Is it really so expensive to put a couple of different LED boards up?
