This is HUGE news for me. I am really excited. Looks like they're gonna do a bigger version of New Japan's super junior tourneys. Bigger? Maybe. Will the quality be there? Doubtful but maybe. Depending on who they get, the quality could certainly be better. Last year's Best of the Super Juniors Tourney didn't have much high quality stuff outside of the great finals.

Brilliant.
This must be what they were reaching out to LU about.

Triple H just 'gets it'.
Also, if we get to see Ricochet in a WWE ring.....wow!

Last year's Best of the Super Juniors Tourney didn't have much high quality stuff outside of the great finals. To me it doesn't even depends on who they get, it's if they really let them go. In paper Owens/Balor should have been a 5 star match comparable to like Ibushi/Naka last year, it wasn't even close. On paper WWE has really great ideas, then they don't let them be that. I hope this is amazing and Triple H is just working to turn WWE into basically American NJPW. Get guys for a bit to show off great wrestling, but not always around.

Ricochet is the (albeit masked) face of Lucha Underground and one half of the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champs in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He's not going to be in this tournament. From HHH: www.wrestlezone.com/news/675653-triple-h-talks-filling-the-cruiserweight-network-series-spots-possibly-working-with-indy-promotions-what-wwe-looks-for-in-talent-moreKeyword there being "freedom". Anyone you see in Lucha Underground has a contract of some sort (ask Hernandez about their deals). Same goes for Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling. I didn't think it needed to be said - but keep NJPW, ROH, Lucha Underground, and TNA wrestlers off your wish lists to avoid disappointment. When this was first announced, I couldn't help but think of Kyle O'Reilly and Boby Fish of ReDragon. They JUST signed new ROH contracts... But I'd say considering Zack Sabre Jr. works for all of those companies HHH mentioned, he's recently moved to the US, is getting a work visa, and has had a WWE.com feature done on him; in my mind it's a given he'll be in it

Alex Shelley A Double ZSJ Richochet Kushida Sydal Low Ki Sonjay JoMo Pentagon Sweet Jesus. So much they could do here if they can make the contracts work. This should be a big giant deal on Raw. Like put it at the top of the 9 o'clock hour once a week and drum up interest for wrestling as a whole. Don't waste this in Full Sail... Edit: Just realized they put a 205 cap on it. Idiotic imo. You're cutting out all of those guys you overbill around that 215 mark, but whatever. The one thing the X-Division still gets right is that it's "no limits" wrestling. Low-Ki vs Pentagon jr would make me cry tears of joy!! Cero Miedo...

I wonder if we'll see any old favourites like Sonjay Dutt or Petey Williams. Neither of them are contracted and are ridiculously entertaining.

He has a LU contract, however wwe and lu officials met to talk business this past December. Not to mention ricochet himself has had 2 meetings with Triple H. Plus, LU isn't filming in July. Fenix, pentagon, aero star, and drago were allowed to compete in PWG while still under LU contracts. I'd say the kid has a shot

Kota Ibushi is not under contract anywhere. Kota Ibushi is 201 pounds. The Global Cruiserweight Series weight limit is 205 and under.

Right, because nobody is going to use Google when WWE lies about someone's weight and call them out on it on Twitter. We're just going to take WWE at face value, cause that's what wrestling fans do. Let's say WWE wants to use Mundo in this tournament. He's listed on WWE.com at 215 right now. Why not just avoid it altogether and put a 225 limit on it? I'm sure they'll lie, but it's stupid they even did that to themselves when they control the variables.

Right, I get it. I just think it's entirely unnecessary. It's not like I don't understand how they're going to get around it. It's that it was completely avoidable altogether.
