I'm a 34 year old father of 3 who lives in Houston. So I used to have a pretty good collection of Jakks and other random wrestling toys back in the day, but I ended up selling them all as a lot on eBay quite a few years back. When Mattel picked up the license, I would always check out and admire the toys, but couldn't pull the trigger on starting a collection. Fast forward to a few years ago, and my oldest daughter really starts to like John Cena and expresses and interest in wrestling. We go to a PPV here in Houston, and she loves it. For her birthday, I picked her up the Money In The Bank playset, along with a few random figures. She lost interest pretty quick, and the toys ended up laying around. I ended up throwing it on a shelf of mine along with a few of the figures she had, along with a few randoms I had picked up or kept. Lately, I've decided to say it and start collecting with full focus. I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner and missing so many great figures. I remember seeing Defining Moments Macho Man at the store and passing because $25 seemed like too much, and now I would kill to spend that little on it. So here's the collection so far.... A couple of notes. The Abdullah and Jake The Snake were gifts from a friend back in my High School days, so I could never bring myself to sell them. Picked up the Entrance Greats Million Dollar Man randomly at a Tuesday Morning sometime for like $5. The Hernandez TNA toy I bought because I used to work with him and consider him a friend. Warrior, John Cena, and Dolph were all my daughters as was the ring. Looking at picking up a real scale ring soon and I am definitely looking to fill in a bunch of holes in my collection, but I'm trying to be as cost conscious as possible. Trying to focus on classics and flashbacks, but I think I might have to pick up a few current gen people here and there. I would really like a decent looking Kevin Owens.

I am. I have a really nice story about them too. I saw the spoilers online for last months crate before mine had shipped. I had ZERO interest in a Nikki Bella pop, but had been meaning to pick up Sting and knew they had shipped him a few months ago before I subscribed. I responded on their facebook to a post about the shipping delays and half jokingly asked that they replace the Nikki in my crate with Sting, fully expecting them to not do it. A week later I've totally forgotten and open my crate to find the Stinger staring back at me. That little gesture probably earned them a customer for life.
Also, the month before my elite was Stephanie. I quickly returned it to Target for store credit and picked up HOF Eddie with it.

Nice start! Always great to see people getting into collecting. Since you're from Houston, have you gone to see any of Booker T's ROW shows?

I love the charm and organization you have. It is a tight and small setup that never feels cramped and all the pieces seem to fall right into place as if they could only be that way. It feels like a bookcase with books of varying sizes, some turned on their backs and some on their sides, inviting comfort over a bookcase of oppressively uniform and clinical titles. Hope that makes sense.

It isn't an easily explained sentiment, but I thought the closest metaphor was books. I myself have two big bookcases in the living room and I tried to simply place all my books alphabetical by author and standing upright only to think that t looked like a bookstore. It was sterile. So I leaned some titles, layed some flat on their back, put objects between some. I see lots of people put figures in neat little rows and on tiered spice racks and that just isn't me.

Great stuff, brother. Texas represent! Haha. All my bookcases are like that. Mixture of books, movies, records, toys, and video games. God bless my wife.

I have 3 large dogs and hard floors, so dusting is a constant battle.

Go for it man! I collect for my 6 year old son and some moc for me. I think my wife doesn't say anything about how many figures I buy because I don't display them at all and my son plays with them. Good luck catching up. I'm almost fully caught up from what I missed when I started three years ago. I only need Bossman and Nash and that will happen this month or next.
Nice pics btw

Nice pics btw Our last house had an office that became my geek lair. This house is huge, but no office, so all my nerdiness is fully on display in the living room.
