I'm just happy we get macho man, I've got nwo & e23 with tops & e38 and hof3 without tops, a nice mix of attires. I'd prefer a top but I'm not getting upset that they aren't there.

I've missed the needed attire in the last two releases, but I understand why. I like the plastic clothing, though, so I'd at least be glad to have that. But I bet the paint hits on E38 were a killer.

This is probably the best thread made minus anything revealing new figures in a while. I'm so bummed to not have the E38 jacket and even more so the HOF3 shirt. Not to mention the new Spotlight Shawn Michaels needs entrance gear over a ladder

They should just stop making macho mans That's stupid. we want more macho mans, But with a jacket or shirt but not getting any macho mans is worse than getting one without a shirt or jacket. Much agreed, very stupid to stop making Macho. Make more and more and more. There can never be enough plus he has like 100 different attires to chose from.

They spent the budget for Macho Man's jacket on sleeves for the APA!
(And what is with this series? I have barely seen it all, while I have found all of E39 several times.)

They've been cheaping out a lot more lately for sure. It's all over the line too, elites, DM's, and exclusives. But when Bill has to fight with his bosses just to keep basic articulation, that doesn't bode well. What's the story here? Not been to invested in figures the past year. Someone asked about Divas getting the double knee joints, and he said it wasn't in the books. He mentioned that he had to fight to prevent basics from losing articulation but didn't say anything more. Presumably it could affect the calf, bicep, and double wrist joints.

at one point, i had like a 6-7 machoman figure now i just keep his dm in my shelf,
mattel may beat jakks in scale and articulation, but cannot outshine them with their robe and coats

RSC Exclusive: Randy Savage Booster Pack
- 1 Robe (cloth would be unlikely unless they picked a simple design, so plastic) - 1 Shirt to match his E38 figure (plastic) - 1 Shirt to match his Hall of Fame figure (plastic) - 1 Cowboy hat to match his Hall of Fame figure for those that preferred that look.
Cost: Any price they wanted to charge because I'd buy it regardless.

Another thing, they should have made the HBK network special with the black boots and entrance attire, think how much more amazing that figure would have looked with the glitter vest and hat! I was surprised to see people praising that figure as much as they did, I thought it was another cheap figure. Honestly Mattel need to keep HBK and Macho Man for the DM line instead of butchering up their figures because of budget restraints for the elite line. That latest DM Austin could have easily been included in the general elite line and another HBK or Macho Man could have taken his place. Looking at those photos and thinking about the figures we could have got makes me shake my head in sadness. C'mon Mattel.

I think they should use a torso with a molded shirt on it. Just add some paint details and make it look as close as they can.

I usually never display my figures with their shirt or jackets, so the lack of them for Savage doesn't bother me much. I can understand why people would want them as depending on how you collect it might seem incomplete.

Great thread, kudos to the OP for deciding to start a discussion on something that a lot (based on the size of this thread) of us collectors are not happy about. The last couple Macho figures have been sorely lacking IMO and the latest HOF figure is a bit of a rip-off if I may say so. This series had 1 less figure in it compared to the previous two and they still did not include a shirt or jacket. The HOF series is exclusive to one store and due to this it costs more then the regular elites cost so the HOF Macho cost more then a regular elite and came with a measly crown and scepter, that is PATHETIC!
Macho Man was well noted for all his great, colourful attires- that was part of the appeal of his character IMO. I agree with mrassbillygun, if they cannot produce a Macho figure in the main elite line with full accessories (jacket, shirt, vest) then just release his figures as DM's. It seems to me as though something has changed in the past year or so regarding the budget of the elite line in general, I have noticed they are barely including any accessories at all with most figures (the one exception would be the APA figures where they went crazy and threw in a whole bunch of stuff). The elite flashback Macho figure they released a few years ago with his WM 8 attire came with both a shirt AND a belt, now all we seem to get is the sunglasses and maybe one or two other minor accessories.
I still cannot believe that seven years into the line and over 10 Macho figures produced, they have still not released 1 figure with his iconic robes?! How can you produce Macho Man figures but not release at least one with a robe- this IS Macho Man to me, the definitive look for me is his star trunks and the awesome robes that he wore in the early part of his career. I missed out on the legends line figure and DM due to getting into collecting late and I don't think these can be found at a decent price so I am waiting and hoping that they release a figure with a robe before his contact runs out. It would be nice to know why they refuse to make this figure, is a Macho Man robe going to break the bank or something?!

I think he needs his whole attire. If he wore a shirt or a jacket, give it to him. I don't think Bill is being a dick and I love the figures we have gotten as-is but I would like to see the cheapskating on accessories toned down some. I do think Bill is doing everything he can but if anyone ever followed the Matty ghostbusters line, it's all about the benjamins. They are a business after all. Built on maximizing profit and keeping cost as low as possible. It sucks but I would rather have some than none.
As has been said, more elaborate figures need to be put as DMs/ sub-line figures I think. Its a little absurd to me, to put Austin as a DM. They can get the damn smoking skull out with Austin as an elite. They can get the other straps with other figures. A complete Macho Man would be great as a DM again because he gets elaborate attire and shirts/jackets/glasses/headbands.

How does the Ringside exclusive deal work? Do they just straight up ask Mattel what for what they want and they get it or does Ringside take whatever Mattel tells them to and the deal is that no other store may get those figures?

Call me when the Divas don't have enough upper body clothing. Until then I'm not gonna worry too much.

I would assume it's somewhere in between? RSC suggests something and then MDT either says "yes" or "actually we're going to put that in the main line" or "no" if they can't do it for whatever other reason.
