They're not just going to hotshot some guy most of the audience doesn't know. He still needs work with the WWE style, and sticking with Jeridad is a good idea imo. AJ is one of the best wrestlers in the world. The WWE style is one of the most timid wrestling styles so I'm pretty sure someone like AJ could master that blindfolded.
Also if most people don't know who he is then why is his merchandise going crazy? People aren't going to want T shirts of some new guy they don't know.

Tell that to the original Sin Cara. The guy many considered to be the best Mexican cruiser-weight since Rey Mysterio. The same guy that skipped NXT. The same guy that made a living on falling on his face. If you can't find him, look for the Ultimo Dragon. One of the greatest international stars of all time. The same one that could not translate to the WWE style. Point is, timid or not, the WWE style takes time for anyone to master. Be glad WWE was willing to let AJ bypass NXT just so we had him in time for WM. |

I love AJ but if his Mania match is trying to get the belts off New Day then I want him to lose. I enjoy the New Day too much and really dont want to see Jericho with a belt, he is too part time to get this push.

I still would've had him win the damn Rumble.
Anything involving Styles would be a far better WM main event than HHH/Reigns.

A little off topic here, but while i agree that Jericho and Styles probably will not be teaming long, it could be Styles who turns on Jericho. No one would see it coming really, and it would be a great setup for Gallows and Anderson to come in and join Styles. Not saying its a prediction, but it would shake things up a bit and get more out of this whole Styles/Jericho deal.

While I wouldn't have sick him in a make-shift tag team, I think he's being used properly. He's being booked like a guy that is unknown by a large portion of the audience.. because that's what he is. They made a very big deal about his debut, which is more than what most NXT stars get. I think the real test will be what they do with him next. WWE has a real problem with falling out of love quickly. They get a new toy and are obsessed until the new wears off, then they're on to the next one. And the old toy is left opening Superstars. Let's hope that doesn't happen to AJ. I love AJ but if his Mania match is trying to get the belts off New Day then I want him to lose. I enjoy the New Day too much and really dont want to see Jericho with a belt, he is too part time to get this push. They're challenging New Day at Raw next week and I would assume they'll get another shot at Roadblock. Jericho will turn heel then and we'll get Y2J/AJ III at at WM. That would be the rubber match, right? I'm more concerned about who that leaves New Day with. |

Styles shouldn't be wasted in a stupid tag team that's just going to lead to a fourth match and another senseless turn from Jericjo that will go nowhere before he has to leave again. I pitched him winning The Rumble and becoming HHHs new Seth Rollins, so to speak but hell I'd be fine with him feuding for The IC Title (that despite the midcard they have, is being used for a Big Show feud.). Which is why I would have had AJ beat Y2J at FastLane with the Styles Clash. Jericho turn psycho heel and set up a submission match for WrestleMania. Great storyline between the two, builds chemistry and teaches AJ the WWE ropes. Also gives Mania a marquee match to build around. Then, in front of 80K+ fans, AJ Styles makes Jericho tap out. This would have been a much better program between the two and AJ would have been hotshotted into the main event. But hey, backseat booking man. |

Mistico was fighting wrestlers Who had no idea how to work his style and he had no idea how to work there's. When Mistico did a hurricanrana he would fall before his opponent flipped which made the move look like a complete botch. He should've went to NXT because he was a great cruiser weight who was being made to look like a joke of a wrestler and it wasn't his fault. As for Ultimo Dragon I thought he was OK considering his age and injuries at the time I just wish he was booked better. AJ however hasn't botched yet at all and is a pleasure to watch in the ring. He has wrestled all different sized wrestlers his entire career so the WWE style should be a piece of cake. |

I think this is a good spot for Styles, he's in no danger of running into Reigns and loosing, by winning the tag titles with Jericho he's going to be booked strong especially going over new day who none of the current tag teams have.
I'm kinda looking forward to Show and Owens and Owens win will only make him look stronger. Everyone is coming out of this a winner Imo people are just being impatient.

I think he's doing fine. The Tag Team with Jericho is weird but it probably won't even last til' Mania. He's probably going to face him again for whatever reason.

I've always said that they could even have had an alternative special attraction to Brock Lesnar with AJ Styles. Lesnar would have been the Beast, the legitimate ultimate fighter, while on the other hand they could have billed Styles as this special 'Best in the World' type athlete, who is literally the best wrestler in the World and only has a few feuds a year in dream type matches.
Still, a feud with Jericho was good, but I'm not a fan at all of having him in a tag team with Y2J though. Unless this is just a short term thing and they are planning on having Jericho turn on Styles, I can't really see what they are gaining from this as they will ultimately have to just fizzle out as we've already seen them feud. AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens would have been the best bet for Wrestlemania, they even have the small back story of Owens eliminating AJ in the Rumble. If not, even a Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho triple threat would be more than acceptable. The only thing I can think of is that they are lining up a TLC Match for the Tag Titles at Wrestlemania, therefore Y2AJ would be a good option to have in the Match, but still, Styles deserves better even if he hasn't been in the Company long. By deserves, I mean he is guarenteed to put on a 4 star Match which the fans would love. Perhaps AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho IIII in an Iron Man or Submission Match is the way their going.

It actually seems he's pretty lucky to be in the spot that he's in, given the way Vince opted to treat him right out of the gate.

-Redneck-Too small -Can't talk Those were a lot of negative qualifiers to strap someone with, and a miserable way to introduce someone to your audience. That's what Vince does, though. Completely undermines his own talent because he didn't creae them first, failing to realize that he's only hurting himself in the process. Granted, I don't agree with this, and I'd have put him into the bigger picture mix right out of the gate and just establish that he's a special talent, but, alas.  For whatever reason, Vince seems to have a clear distinction between Texas Southern and Southern Southern. Texas is a big metropolitan area. There's an aura surrounding the Texas Redneck stereotype. Rural Georgia, not so much. Not to mention, Austin's brand of redneck was branded as a positive qualifier. AJ's was immediately branded as a negative. |

Well rumor has it that there is something big brewing for Mania. So far Ziggler and Miz are going to be a big part of it and seeds were supposedly planted for it on Monday. BUT, maybe it wasn't so much specifically with those two, but the IC Title name drop Dolph did. My guess? An 8 Man IC Title Ladder Match Owens, Styles, Jericho, Miz, Big Show, Ziggler, Neville, and Alberto Del Rio If they gave that match 30 minutes with a Styles victory, then it has match of the night potential. Jericho v Styles IV as a Submission Match; Show/Ziggler/Miz/Neville/Breeze/Owens IC Title TLC is how i see things shaping up to be honest. Both have potential to be great. I'd rather see Owens face Zayn at Mania but it seems they aren't going to go that route right away |

there are very few things on this board that can unite all of us, and AJ Style is one of them. I think eveyrone loves AJ to some degree and we all want him to be successful.
The other thing that we can all agree with on the boards is that WWE Creative generally sucks, and if there's a way, they will find a way to screw things up, believe that!
But in all honesty, I think they are doing the right thing with AJ. I really want him, Samoa Joe and KO to light it up at a WM, just like he did with Joe and Daniels in TNA around 2005. He's phenominal for a reason and this slow burn push is going to pay off if creative doesn't screw it up!

I have no problem with it because they are my 2 favorite wrestlers on the roster. It reminds me a lot of Jericho teaming with Benoit. Plus, it's not like they will be a team forever, so I'm gonna try and enjoy it while it lasts.
I can already see AJ years from now, in an interview for his first DVD, saying how much he enjoyed teaming with Jericho, and how Jericho taught him this and that about how things work in WWE.
