Geeze. Look at the official video. Twice as many dislikes than likes.

I'm a little surprised by the reactions here. What do you guys go to see? Not to pigeon hole any of you, but the summer blockbuster crowd (I go see summer blockbusters as well, even though I'm obnoxiously selective) are directly responsible not only for this looking the way it does, but for it even existing in the first place. Didn't those of you who go see Marvel movies create this monster? I think this is exactly as I expected it to look...goofy popcorn fare, which I think we're all in agreement that the first two are not, but even so... I can't speak for everyone, but for me...my main gripe is that nothing in this trailer is funny. The first two films were full of classic one liners, but this just looks really bad. That last line in the trailer sucks and makes me feel like I'm watching a trailer for Good Burger or something. And now I feel like I'm insulting Good Burger by comparing it to this.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS TO COME OUT! I am so excited for this movie! I think it looks great! Didn't show too much in the trailer, not giving away everything about the movie. I loved it! I am super stoked to see this!

To say that the Marvel films are what led to this is tantamount to saying Jaws led to the this. In the generation of Baysplosion gasm destructoporn - summer fare, Marvel movies are head and shoulders above the competition. For that matter, Bay's movies are in a class of their own as far as vfx and blending real with fantasy. This is a Scooby Doo live action knock off. The existence of SHARKNADO, and it's fandom, is what brought this movie to fruition. That's a closer comparison. This is a cash grab, a desperate attempt to make the namesake work for a new generation that can't differ between "good" and "so bad it's good". Don't put that on Marvel and Co.'s shoulders. Put it on Asylum; on Syfy channel; on low budget schlock spawned from a generation of filmmakers that said "Hey, I finished a movie. I'm so damn great at what I do!" -- they're pandering to the lowest denominator here, while trusting that the name "Ghostbusters" will bring fans in, and the all-female cast will bring the female crowd in, dragging their boyfriends that otherwise wouldn't go. If we're going to put blame where it supposedly goes, let's at least try to put it on the right things, and right people. To say this is remotely in the same league as ANY of the Marvel movies, is silly at the very least. The vfx alone (not taking into account the lack of comedy, poor cast choices, seemingly piss-poor script, and bipolar stylings) are mediocre, and warrant comparisons far lower than such things.

I'll still wait to see some more teaser scenes and trailers but so far this is looking as bad as I imagined.

My hatred has 95% to do with McCarthy.
5% to do with this simply not looking funny.

Sad thing is, when this bombs, it will get blamed on people being sexist and against feminism......even though Force Awakens came out 6 months earlier with a female lead and its now the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time.

I don't agree that TFA does anything to disprove the rampant, omnipresent disease that is misogyny. I have no doubt that is going to contribute to the negative reaction to this movie/trailer. Personally, I just don't think it looks good. I don't like this cast at all (though it's hard to envision an alternate all-female cast that has the star power to get this movie made) and the original movies/cartoon are an ENORMOUS part of my childhood. I'm unreasonably protective of it. I hope this movie ends up working but so far it just looks like a throwaway McCarthy/Wiig comedy. I dislike both of them as actresses.

I'll still wait to see some more teaser scenes and trailers but so far this is looking as bad as I imagined. I know I'm fighting the entire world here, but I don't look upon the Marvel movies with the same fondness as you guys do. I think they're responsible for a lot of what we get these days. This is a clear attempt to create a 'cinematic universe' (I despise that term) out of a dormant 'franchise.' Sorry, this is much closer to Marvel than to Sharknado. Whether you like the jokes or not, think the cgi looks terrible or not, the template they're using is the MCU one. That's the template that Star Wars is using, too. Blockbusters aren't made the same way they were even ten years ago. I'm in no way saying this is in the same 'league' as the Marvel movies, but that's what they want here and that's what everyone wants. I'm seeing the same shot as they stand there and lick their proton guns, etc, looking 'badass' as I see every time there's a new Avengers trailer and they all stand back to back and the camera swirls around them. There are definitely comparisons, despite this being a clear 'comedy' and those movies not being billed as such. What I think of the Marvel movies I guess is a different argument. But this, Jurassic World, even Force Awakens, to deny that the template they've created hasn't influenced any of these just isn't possible. We could blame JAWS for all of this, really. JAWS led to Star Wars led to so on and so on. The point I'm trying to make is if you watch the first two films, there's a normalcy to it that isn't going to be the case here. Subtlety in the blockbuster is mostly dead. It's just so over the top that it's difficult to swallow. Maybe the jokes would be funnier if the rest of the movie didn't seem so in your face? The best gag for me was McKinnon's Pringles can.

I don't even know what to say after watching that! me is this going to be bad. Looks like Brides Maids 2 or something. Nothing to do with feminism or being anti-woman it just looks really bad and really unfunny (even though the original Ghostbusters films weren't comedies).

Man did this look bad, nobody looked natural, they made a big clunker saying they had scientists in the original, nope 3, Winston was hired due to the rest of them being overworked. The joke in the original where they say they have a nuclear device strapped on their backs & when the first switch it on, they back away, now they seemingly can lick their guns (this isn't a Miley Cyrus video). I don't have a problem with it being women, but the cast seem really bad, unnatural and it seems like a bad remake of the original, seems we got ourselves a Fan4stic for 2016.

Love the amount of people ripping this movie without seeing it, yet love a newly rebooted Ninja Turtle franchise with creatures that look absolutely nothing like turtles.
To each their own.
