With the impending arrival of the NHL pre-season, I figured we should get some disscussion going on here. So, to do that, I will ask the ever scary question: "How will your team do this year?"
My team (Toronto Maple Leafs) has done some serious rebuilding this off season. And i think they'll score a 6th or 7th seed in the play offs this year

As for the Maple Leafs.... It really depends on ahh, Raycroft actually...
I personally don't have a "Favorite" team though, but I will be watching Alexander Ovechkin though, and ahh, Yeah.. That's about it..

The Senators will do their usual thing. Have an awesome regular season, be on the top of the conference then flame out in the first or second round in the playoffs.

I have one thing to say:
Go Wild Go!
They've done so much team building over the last several months that they've even convinced me to drop the pipedream of the Habs winning the cup!
But seriosuly, folks, Im calling it right now: Minnesota Wild, 2006-2007 Stanley Cup Champions!

I'm interested in how Canucks will do. Luongo is most likely going to do wonders for the Canucks this year.

GO HABS GO!!!
I'm looking forward to a top-notch season from them this year... With everyone important returning and a few nice off season pick ups, and if Huet stands on his head like the end of the season... I think the cup might be coming back to Canada!!!

With everyone important returning and a few nice off season pick ups, and if Huet stands on his head like the end of the season... I think the cup might be coming back to Canada!!! GO HABS GO!!! I have to say, I seriously doubt it. I mean the Habs now have Samsonov, and Johnson is a nice addition, but with Ribeiro still centering the second line we are going nowhere. Ribeiro should be limited to powerplay, he has been and always will be a powerplay specialist, and nothing more. Carbo then needs to use the Russians together and pair Samsonov and Kovalev together with possibly Johnson centering the two for some much needed aggression if you will. Also, as long as Komisarek continues to ruin the Habs blueline with his "old-NHL-crappy-play-that-was-even-worse-in-the-old-NHL" style I refuse to ever beleive my once dear Montreal Canadiens will ever win the cup. I however will give you this, if the Cristo-Wall can stand strong like the end of last season and the Habs can get their scoring in sync with their defense, they will definately make things interesting. Your favorite Mike Komisarek hater, Saku

Carbo and Kirk aren't dumbies so i'm sure they'll get the right line combinations early in the season and hopefully no one gets hurt... GO HABS GO!!!

Leafs.. Oilers.. Wild.. do it up.
Though I'm not going to pray and hope like any typical Leaf fan that 'this is the year.' Though they look some what better than last year, a guarenteed playoff spot they're NOT. The defense looked fine until they overpaid both Kubina and Gill. Kubina, okay.. sure.. I get it. But Gill? A poor man's Chara. Plus there's six defensive prospects that they have right now, and four of them are NHL ready based on the time they played last year with the numerous injuries. I'm sure Coloaiacovo is a lock for fifth. The sixth will no doubt be a training camp battle between Bell, White, Harrison, and Kronwall. I'm pulling for Harrison, personally.
Out of my three favourite teams, I'd seriously say that the Wild are the favourite to go some where, provided they reach their offensive potential. Lemaire's got them all thinking D, which is important, but they have more scoring power than they probably think. They made some serious moves this offseason, and I would think that a playoff spot is a good chance. Their 2003 run was glorious. Something like that again would be wicked to see.
Oilers probably won't get anywhere near the Cup Finals, but I don't think they've diminished as most think. Their defense is solid. Could be better. But they have some deep forward lines and tons of support on their wings. They could challenge for the bottom playoff seeds again. Plus they have an actual starting 'tender to start the season off with this year.
As far as the West goes, I think we'll still see Detroit up there. As well as the Sharks and Ducks.
Not sure about the East. I'll say the Sabres, but they lost some solid D. Ottawa will probably reign supreme. They lost Havlat, who didn't play the season, really, anyway. Hasek is too risky and Emery was fantastic in the time he played. Chara didn't really show up in the playoffs at all. Only Havlat, really. Alfie's still and always will be a douchebag. He's neeever there come playoff time.
So stoked for the season to start.
