I like the way GOT is structured in that respect. You get the whopper massive episode in #9......then you get to see the fallout of that in #10.
next weeks episode wont top last week but it will still be compelling viewing.

The last couple of season finales have been big and this one is titled "The Winds of Winter"
Should be a good one

Are there two seasons left or just one?

Yeah, I've always been a fan of getting the big ko punch in episode 9 versus 10. That allows them to do more story building for what's ahead in the next season. I almost look at a portion of episode 10 as an epilogue of sorts to the current season, and the rest being a trailer for the following season. It works for me.

Are there two seasons left or just one? Yes. Supposedly next season will be 7 episodes, and the final season will be only 6 episodes. I honestly look for HBO to try and get them to beef both those numbers up. My hope is that we're looking at 8 episodes each for the final two seasons at worst, but I guess we'll see. variety.com/2016/tv/news/game-of-thrones-end-date-season-8-1201752746/

If HBO is really desperate for more ASOIAF, they should invest in a spinoff series. I think an anthology series would be great. One year they could do Robert's Rebellion, the next they could do Aegon's Conquest, after that they could do the Dance of Dragons, etc.

What an episode, I don't even know where to begin. Mostly uplifting, positive stuff. Hell, I was even rooting for Cersei most of the time.

I floated the theory about Jon a year or two back and I was basically told I was an idiot for saying it...that was damn satisfying lads.
I hate seeing that bitch Cersei coming out on top. The Tommen part shocked the crap outta me......abrupt end to Margys story wasn't it?
All the stuff in the North was absolutely golden.....including THAT scene with Frey. Man I shouted with delight
Dany is finally coming...
Next season is shaping up to be the wiping out of The Lannisters and Dany taking the throne only to be confronted by the White Walkers then.

What an absolutely amazing episode. Just awesome.
The ONE thing that hurt was Margaery. I was actually sad to see that happen since we were convinced she was playing chess to get out of there, and what a heart wrenching moment for her to have seen it coming. Besides that though, everyone else going was incredibly satisfying. Lancel's scene was particularly fantastic. The Tommen moment was just insane. Like what a reaction that fits so well into this world. I'm most interested to see where Jaime stands on losing his last child.
I think all of that draws the line that we're supposed to be rooting hard for Dany to take King's Landing against Cersei. I think Kahleesi is an idiot for riding into battle without her best warrior, but that's none of my business. Nice hand of the king moment with Tyrion, and the end with the ships was very satisfying.
Our L+R = J moment wasn't exactly what I had hoped, but what a transition to "The King of the North!" Maybe they're saving the dialogue for later, but I wanted to see if Lyanna loved Rhaegar. We knew Jon was Lyanna's though based on the pure existence of the Tower of Joy. So I just felt like they held back there a little. Unless of course there is nothing else there and then it was just confirmation, carry on. So now we wait to see if Bran reunites with Jon and when, or how, Jon finds out he's the rightful heir to the throne.
Lyanna Mormont was sensational. What a moment. Interesting the conversation Littlefinger and Sansa were having with their eyes at the end. I wasn't sure if Sansa felt pressure because she knows Littlefinger isn't happy or if she felt a bit of jealousy because she realized, in that moment, that Jon, and not her, was going to lead the North. That was curious to me. I'd be fine if Sansa fed Littlefinger to the dogs as well.
Dat Arya moment doe. It felt a bit like it was randomly wedged into the episode but it wasn't any less satisfying because of it. I'm hoping Cersei belongs to Arya as well.
This was my favorite season since 1. Maybe the best season they've done to-date. What an end. What a place to leave your story. They blew away all the extra fat and said this is the core of our story. They are full steam ahead and what a collision course we're on with all of these characters pointed in the same direction, finally.

Great season. Lady Mormont is just the ing best. WHY DID YOU TAKE MARGAERY FROM ME!!!!! WHYYYY!!!!!! And Arya went full Eric Cartman and it was glorious.

would have liked to see pycelle have a far worse death...
good episode though. compelling finish to the series. despite my hatred for her, i was happy to see cersei come out on top and the whole high sparrow angle to end.
a strange season - i personally wouldn't hold it up to the last one - but great nonetheless.
