I wouldn't buy that two-pack because those aren't the versions I want of either guy. I agree that Greg the Hammer would not likely sell well. It would be a boring figure of a not-so-legendary legend. Brutus, though, has a cool gimmick with hedge clippers and colorful, frilly outfits (plus crazy hair if you give him that look). I think people who didn't see the hammer until the late 80's early 90's don't know how great he was. The guy was a great Intercontinental and United States Champion, having epic feuds with Tito Santana and Roddy Piper over both titles. He was a great tag team champion with Ric Flair and Brutus Beefcake, the Dream Teams vs the British Bulldogs is an underrated Wrestlemania classics. I can't tell if this board just didn't see Valentine, or genuinely doesn't think he was good. I started watching wrestling in late 1989 (WWF exclusively). When Greg the Hammer was on, none of the older fans ever made a big deal about him. He was kinda cool but nothing special to most of my generation (from what I've heard). I did have his Hasbro figure, but he usually jobbed in my fed like he jobbed in real life at that time. A truly legendary legend doesn't go from "great matches" with other true legends like Piper and Flair to wrestling on the middle card to close out his career. The fans wouldn't allow it. Despite all the awesome he had early on, he was quite ordinary for a large chunk of his run. That quote I bolded above pretty much says it. He was already "was great" before his career even ended.

Valentine doesn't excite me very much. If they did Rhythm N Blues Valentine then I guess that would be alright. It would be a great way to get another Honky Elite figure as well with a cloth blue suit.

The second Hasbro figure would translate incredibly well into Mattel form

His feud with Ronnie Garvin in late 89-90 was pretty good, I'm sure you saw that. His talent is undeniable though, noone worked over a body part any better. Problem with the hammer was he lacked any flash, just a physical, scientific master of his craft.

I'd still take a figure based on his WWF Hasbro. You know, going back and watching the 1992 Royal Rumble, I believe Flair skirmished with just about everyone in that match, including Valentine. It's interesting because as a kid I had no idea they had a significant past because the commentators never mentioned it. But it does make Flair's '92 Rumble performance that much cooler.

Greg valentine is a special case for me. I watched predominately in 1990-1991 when Greg lost nearly every match he was in besides squash matches. I hated valentine as a kid, he was always in a match that I felt that timeline should go to someone else. When I seen him come to the ring I would literally get mad and yell at the t.v because I'd rather watch anyone else. But now I respect valentine as a wrestler and even though when I watched as a kid he was a jobber , he was a staple in the wwf . I would buy him in a heartbeat.
I would love valentine in his black trunks with his valentine robe like his Jakks singles figure

Give me the Zodiac if no Beefcake. We need something, Hell even Hogans body guard when he was in the NWO. lol
No but seriously a Brutas "the Barber" Beefcake would be awesome. I'm not sure which attire though. I believe Mattel and Bill would make the perfect choice though.
Can't wait for that Elite!

He's pretty high on my wishlist BUT I really want to see more of his gimmicks than just Beefcake. I want The Disciple most, but also would love a Butcher (from the Three Faces Of Fear stable), Booty Man and Zodiac.

i would take 1 short haired Dream Team version, any and all crazy haired Barber versions, and short haired 89 Barber after Sherri and Mach cut his hair. And even tho i wouldn't buy them, I'm sure ppl would want a WM9 version, WCW Butcher, Zodiac, Booty, and Disciple. as much as ppl rag on his lack of wrestling ability, the man had a lot of characters that would make great looking figs.

The greatest (Flair, Piper as mentioned earlier) remained great even amidst one another.
