Yeah, I had one. I have to check. I sold some Tiger Army colored vinyl in 2011 and think I may have sold it that year as well. It was on Dreamworks for the CD because that's kind of the last AFI album I cared for... at all. It was a good album really, but I grew up listing to Very Proud of Ya and thought they hit their peak w. Black Sails.... also an awesome record. I have a few AFI vinyl that I haven't sold... one is the split w/ Swingin' Utters that has a Dag Nasty cover, "Values Here" and it plays nice... like that cover/song in general too. Forget what Utters song is on there. I still have that limited to 5k picture disc which was a Hot Topic exclusive I believe.... It's from 2002 (I think? It came out right before STS dropped which was 03 if I'm thinking right) and still in the plastic bag/thing it came in with its sticker etc. It's in pretty good shape. 336 or whatever it's called... has two songs, one is an alt. version of another I believe. I liked this record & STS... and then I really hated their album from 06. I had a boxed set of it somebody bought me which I never opened, and managed to sell it for a lot. I forgot about that one... haha I know I have STS on CD if I don't have the LP anymore... I love AFI up to STS and even live, they were fun in 06 when I last saw them... but one other thing I always love is their vinyl was really creative, and the cover art is/was awesome. I had promo posters from all of their albums on Nitro right up to Art of Drowning, for the vinyl releases and they were 8x11 with cover art ...I've sold them all on eBay since but those were really cool. I loved the old album art. They were really unique for coming out of that SXE hardcore scene when most every single band from that era sounded like Ten Yard Fight or some crap. I still have a soft spot for AFI and I really don't even listen to much skate punk/hardcore stuff anymore. I still remember one of the first AFI shows I went to (first 'punk' concert I had been to) waaay back when they were still playing small venues and their old guitarist jumped, and he hit his head on a beam, the venue was so small... they were literally bending over while they played and he must have forgot... it might be online somewhere lol. Fireside bowl. Those were the days. This is the 5k one I have img.discogs.com/J_LklxKyooyN4DIMv5Qdd00Ynbg=/fit-in/400x300/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-1266418-1204941587.jpeg.jpgAnd it's in the plastic like that. I have a Horrorpops picture disc which is pretty awesome too (their album, I think the 2nd one? Maybe 1st release, one of their first two). And a GG/ANTiSEEN picture disc as well. I like 'em but actually don't have too many. Forgot all about the AFI one until you asked about STS. I like the cut of Now the World more than the other version (b-side from the STS sessions, I think? I don't know it's been awhile lol) I might still have a copy of The Black Sails EP too. I had one. I had a copy of the AFI self-titled EP released on Caroline records at some point as well. I sold a lot of AFI rare vinyl and shirts too... I think I bundled some. So I'm not sure about some of these anymore. I know I have the picture disc and Utters split. I might still have a split w/ Heckle on the b/w too. ... The 7" with Swingin' Utters is in a bin somewhere... I know I still have it. I sold a copy of Fly in the Ointment at one point too. Ditto to Eddie's Picnic All Wet (I think was the name..it was live ..i think a show from early 90s). Those fetch quite a bit now ...prolly more than when I sold them. -shrug- I'll see if I have a copy of Sing the Sorrow and what copy it is. I remember there were a lot of different pressings/colors/etc.... I'm curious which one I had/have now. I gotta find my discogs log-in info and maybe update it for kicks. I also found some more pix of my collection that I took cuz I either was going to sell them or plan to sell them eventually. Some of them I'm waffling on selling, now. I had forgotten how many fun 12" records I had, either.... I was sorting some stuff last night. Lots of good stuff even after I've purged a lot of rare stuff (or this bundle of some old stuff that I sold to a buddy awhile back). I have a lot of LPs I forgot all about that I really love.... in addition to a lot of the ones above. hopefully I can remember my login for discogs now.

I hate "Record Store Day". You can never find any of the good stuff, even when you get there the second the place opens. But you can sure as hell find everything on Ebay two seconds after the stores open for 10 times the price. I have a quite a few records, I only pick up the punk bands I like. I have almost all the Ramones and New York Dolls, etc. All the Roth era Van Halens. I usually go to Reckless Records in Chicago. I like to get ones from there, I don't care how used they are. The worn out the better. I can sit and listen all day and just stare at the covers. Screw Cds and downloads. Oh hell yeah! New York Dolls are my favorite. Johnny Thunders... got a ton of Thunders/Dolls vinyl myself. And some cool Johnny and Patti Paladin singles that I don't see too often. I like Reckless a lot... which one do you go to? There's 2 or 3 no? I know one is in Wicker Park (I wanna say) or somewhere right in that area, I'm not exactly positive ...it's the one that I saw Tommy Stinson at for a free in-store concert ...where I got the mutiny vinyl (signed copy). real cool show, just hung with some of them... was pretty dead and not many people in there oddly. I think that's the one in Wicker park and I like it more. I'm drawing a blank and forgetting where the other one is now? I never really do anything on record store day honestly. there's nothing but reprints as far as the bands I'd be buying vinyl of... and honestly, by the time I get out it's all picked over. It's a bummer. I love my current rig since the old receiver I have makes vinyl sound great... record players aren't made for certain sounding albums anymore.. punk records sound weird on a fancy turntable... they weren't meant to be played on fancy turntables. The old receiver vs. my digital one is so much nicer when i play my older punk records like Ramones, Dolls, Thunders, Dead Boys etc. etc. Anywho... yeah Reckless is pretty nice and I have found some solid deals now and then. Ever hear of a place called Logan Hardware? It's a penny arcade in the back, record store in the front. Not too sure about how it is now but they had some great prices and I've gotten some nice deals there... 3 real good and good conditioned Leon Russel vinyls for $9..3 for each of 'em... a few Laura Nyro albums for about $12... they have a big selection, TONS of bins with 7" for 25c or so...and I've found some fun little gems as beat up as they were in those bins... I would recommend that record store if you ever are in the Logan Square area (it may actually be in what truly is Logan Square... and not just a lumped-in area near L7)...driving past it, you wouldn't think it is a record store or arcade, with a name like "Logan Hardware"... check it out tho. I think you would like it.

If anybody wants to take a gander... here is some of my collection (also some rare tapes and CD that I know/knew I had... I may have listed all of my cassettes for that matter, since I only have maybe 20 that have survived over the yrs w/ the case & inserts etc. and a lot of the copies I have without cases are extremely beat up)... I haven't updated this in 10 months and even then still had to enter at least 40% of the rest of my crap... or somewhere around there. Also to note is a good deal of this stuff has been sold and some traded or just simply given as a gift to a friend here or there. I had doubles of a few and also a couple hookups who worked w/ some labels... like that GG Allin 6x6 set, the Combat green had less copies pressed than the Test Pressing, I think if I remember right... and the Test Pressing only had 11... my buddy who had worked at PONK or with them when it was released in limited quantities sold me a set real cheap... otherwise I would never have had it, or a lot of my GG collection, since I paid less than what I've unloaded them for as far as the records I have sold...) I haven't bought many records over the last 10 months. The Tommy Stinson promo EP "LMAO" (play on LAMF and supposed to be a jab w/ the whole Replacements reunion/cash cow thing I think) which I got at a concert. And some stuff on eBay or at yard sales. But nothing notable. You'll notice that a lot of the stuff in my collection (or at least which I entered into discogs up into the point I stopped updating it and stuff) is by 3 or 4 artists, and you could probably easily lump about 50+ albums from them combined ...part of that is because a lot of my discogs was made just to track certain vinyl collections I had at the time, so all of that info is in there. Some artists I'd support or buy more from than others and I've always been that way... and then sometimes I've just gotten some great deals on some rare vinyl and I couldnt pass it up. I digres-- www.discogs.com/user/nicklinden/collectionNeeds to seriously be updated. Hell I just sold that Smog/Suckdog split at the top of the page there, along with the Smog "Floating" EP which evidently was my last entry or update... 10 months ago. I'll post back if I ever do update this and it's a little more accurate. I've sold a lot or traded something for something here & there. I'll update it sooner or later. It's a good chunk though for sure, I just forgot I sold so much over the last yr while trying to catch up on bills and debt.

While organizing some vinyl and looking at the ones on here I still own I remembered I forgot to post a photo/short description of one of my favorite vinyls ever... up there with the 3 or 4 Suckdog vinyls I have, w/ the Drugs Are Nice LP probably being my favorite record that I own (not my favorite album by ANY means- but as far as records- and I guess you could say collecting records- go(es), it's the prize of my collection for me for lotsa reasons). This is one of my absolute favorites out of my entire collection. Limited to 1k. It's a good live show and the audio is really good, backing band was good for that era (1989, the Disappointments backed him live), and the set is even pretty solid (with a neat cover of Dead Flowers by the Stones)....Stache's bar in Ohio. It's a GG Allin 7" called "Outside Inside" with its title stemming from the fact that the record spins and plays from the inner groove to the outer groove, something unique I have not seen with many records or pressings (or heard of) and NEVER see anymore to be honest. My copy's hand-numbered #89, there are a few alternate covers, or out of the 1k pressed 2 variants I should say (mine being the cover from the photo below- but that isn't my copy). I love how it spins from the inner groove. Very neat. I have one other record by GG that has a unique feature I haven't come across too often. The "Expose Yourself..." 7" w/ GG & The Aids Brigade is not only pretty rare, but also has its own unique feature: on side 1, it is pressed and spins at 33⅓ RPM; side 2, 45RPM. Not sure how many copies but I had to pay a bit to get that one. I personally think that vinyl with unique qualities (like the aforementioned two above) are really neat. It goes a step above/beyond simply limiting editions and/or different colors when it spins backwards, at least I would say!

You have some great taste there! I go to the Reckless on Broadway by Belmont. I use to live on Briar and I was there a few times a week to meet up with friends and whatnot. I do like the one in Wicker Park as well. I haven't been to that one in about a year. I'll definitely check out Logan hardware. I've heard of the name but never have been there. If you ever go to Reggies on South State St to see a concert, they have a kick ass record store upstairs called Record Breakers" and you can get a lot of good records there. I basically finished my "Queers" collection there. You might even see GG Allins brother Merle there. I know I've seen him there a couple of years ago. lol

Broadway! That's the one. d'oy. I should have known that. I was much closer to it when I used to live up in Andersonville or that area-- on Argyle, off of Broadway and Clark st. I've had two different apartments out that way actually, one on my own, and one with an ex. Both were nice but the one I reference on Broadway was back in 2011-2012, when we lived there. I went to that Reckless a number of times as well, but Wicker Park is where I've seen some killer in-store shows for free like the Stinson one I mentioned, and I tend to have better finds there. Merle... hahahaha... I've just nearly bumped into or met Merle a handful of times but don't know him...always missed him by a second or two, whereas a lot of other GG "disciples" or what have you i know or knew personally for some odd reason.... Used to know/keep in touch with Bloody Mess aka Bloody Mess & the Skabs (damned if I remember is real first name now..lol)... he sold me some cool vinyl cheap. When I first met Lisa Carver, her and I actually spoke of an article she had written in Rollerderby about "tough guy rockers" (GG clones from the period, in a nutshell)...Bloody Mess being on the list, he of course is insanely offended (he seemed the type...) and also (if what Lisa told me was true) he had been spurned by her, evidently. So he writes this long-ass letter that a friend of mine who was a roadie for Vomitose and GG on that tour of theirs, and also worked at PONK (how I got that big set and some other rare GG and Suckdog items even...hell I have some weird/rare BULGE vinyls I forget about, too... one with the gigantic XXX poster... kinda fun)... he sent me the actual copy of the letter- who knows how the hell he got it or why, but he did. He also sent me a ton of other cool stuff and due to the GBP to US$ rate/vice versa, he would combine shipping, and that's where a huge part of my GG collection came from that wasn't bought sealed or new. I have a lot... only have sold some of the really limited and obscure stuff and then that big 6x6 set. I like my GG collection... it IS updated for the most part on that site minus for some stuff I forgot to list like Expose Yourself... 7" or stuff I couldn't find on there. And then I've also sold a few things like I said. I have a handful of Tiny Tim/GG splits on PONK, most hand-numbered and limited ...there were 500 red and 500 black I think. I have an extra red one I wanna rid of...cough cough. Tiny Tim and GG are on this big foldout inside the record. It's cool. The Queers are awesome! Isn't their lead singer fronting the Jabbers reunion acts now? I might go see the Murder Junkies even with PP Duval on vox since it's their very last tour, evidently... 25th anniversary RIP tour or some crap. I wouldn't mind catching them live. PP is OK too... from the video I've seen. Solid fill-in but why didn't they just recruit Jeff Clayton FULLTIME? I know he did a few gigs but man I woulda been down for him taking over as their vocalist and fronting them. Coulda just renamed themselves w/ him on vox too... Reggies is pretty cool too. I've been eying some upcoming shows all over the city and state. A few nights ago I saw a mini Suckdog reunion actually, one of the best nights/shows I've ever been to. Got to hangout with Lisa at the show, met an idol/one of my fav. artists in Dame Darcy, who illustrated for Rollerderby and was in Suckdog etc.) and I got reaaaallllly bombed on things I won't even mention here + alcohol and I never really drink, and somehow was still was standing at the end of the night. That much adrenaline and excitement. Dunno if you remember/have heard of Suckdog from back way back when (they got their title from the GG tune naturally) but during those yrs Lisa was always compared or likened to the "female GG Allin" ..being older now and stuff it's not like the old shows which were really crazy, but this was the closest thing to the perfect mini reunion I've ever been to.... It was at a venue in Bridgeport I had never been to, to boot. I definitely need to check out that Reggies record store... I had NO idea it was there to be honest. Is it new? I havent been to Reggies in forever! As for Merle, some people tell me he's awesome, some tell me he's a dick, but I've never come across his paths. Believe it or not, somebody whose name I will not name (because he was a narcissistic psycho dick and is in jail right now) who asked me numerously to split rent/room with him...b-list celeb kind of... somehow got LIZ MANKOWSKI of all freaking people living with him for awhile. I heard stories about how that turned out and do not know which side to believe.... or which sides... it sounded like such a mess, but for a minute or two I would keep in touch with her since he and I wee still on good terms and she was living w/ the guy for whatever reason(s). I could tell some weird stories... I've met a lot of my idols on accident and then realized they are the most down-to-earth people in the world. Lisa sent me a Kitty City for my 2 cats because her lazy cat wouldn't use it, for example. She's beyond someone I look up to at this point and just an awesome person and even better friend. She's told me some great GG stories, too... and sent me a bunch of stuff to boot. (interviews w/ GG, Suckdog Denial stuff, etc. etc.) Anyway, def. check out Logan Hardware!! GREAT prices, fun arcade too actually & usually dead... and some cool little memorabilia items, movies, dvds etc. etc. But they have a great vinyl selection, is the kicker!
