It's easy to walk away. I'd find it harder to come back. This. Been collecting for many, many years. When I get thoroughly tired of a line, I walk away and move on to something else. I rarely sell off whatever I've collected at that time...just pack it away for later. Once I've quit a line, I'm out...I can't bring myself to rejoin a collection after I've opted out. But quitting all lines? Not til I'm dead. I will willingly admit that new toy joy is my addiction. I'm disciplined...bills don't go unpaid to support my habit. But any extra money after my financial obligations are met? I'm heading to the toy aisle with it!

I've stopped collecting WWE figures, only recently bought the 4 horseman 4pacl for 12.50 from Target. I'm really into import Star Wars figures and marvel/DC figures. What I miss the most about collecting WWE is that every month their would be a new series, the other stuff is so sporadic and not as well stocked.

It is somewhat addicting for me. Collecting and customizing are. You get one figure and I can turn it into ten other possibilities. That's the fun part.

Once Mattel is done with wwe figures so am I
I could probably go without collecting figures but I'd still buy other things

I once sold my rather large Marvel Universe collection and have regretted it ever since. Especially since I have a son now who would love them when he's a bit older. I collect wWE Elites and Marvel Legends now and have considered selling them when money gets tight but figure they will be better off going to my kids.
And as others have said, it is easier to get out than get back in

Easily. Considering I collect barely anything from the modern era and only really focus on the older generations of superstars, it wouldn't be that tough to do.

I've always collected *something*, so if and when I stop collecting WWE figures, it will likely be because I've moved on to something else.
I have a good life, but I love my Door Prizes. They break up the monotony and give me something to look forward to.
(When I order something online be it eBay, Ringside, Amazon, etc, the package is left at my front door. Hence the term "Door Prizes".)

Yes. Meanwhile, I keep seeing people post stuff about Mattel quitting or losing license. In this thread and others. Does anyone have any factual information about this?

I could, and I did stop collecting from late 2014 to early 2015, and then I stopped again from mid 2015-late 2015, and I sold off large portions of my collection. I'm still trying to get back quite a few figures that I sold off.

If I HAD to, i would. It would need to be a very good reason though. Loss of income, huge medical bills ect. But toy collecting is my hobby. It helps relieve stress and reminds me of a simpler time.

I think there would be a few instances I would quit. - I lose interest in wrestling. It happened before back in 2007/8 and I gave away all the figures I collected, mainly Jakks figures.
- If Mattel loses their contract and the successor doesn't live up to the quality.
- If money becomes an issue and luxuries are not worth it.

The answer is no. I'm an addict and I know I am. I spend way more than I intend to on them and any free time I have this hobby is all I think about.

Some times I think, that's it I'm done but then I'll see the Nasty Boys are being released and I just can't help myself. This is why I only target guys from 1985-1999, I don't own any current wrestlers, I have no interest and it saves me money and keeps the hobby fun.

The only time ive stopped collecting since the 80's was when ttls came out for a few years. Once the cs figs started i got back into it for the collecting side of things for the first time as aside from a playable standpoint because, ra, much like basics are crap from an articulated standpoint. I need to ease up on the elites because the prices keep rising. Ive sold probably 50+ elites in the past just because there's too many i don't care about and never get much of a return. Im going to try and focus on elites that i think are fum to play around with so i can actually get some use outta them.

Could I stop collecting new figures? Yes, if finances dictated I stop. Would I take the next step and sell off my current collection? No.
