NXT – 3/27/16
Announcers: Jason Albert & Lita
General Manager William Regal opens the show. He starts by declaring that despite both NXT Championships being on the line at the Wrestlemania Pre-Show, both championships will also be on the line tonight.
NXT Womens Championship: Eva Marie def. Emma with a Neck Breaker. After the match, Eva Marie held her championship up high when Bayleys’ song hit. Bayley came to the ring and signaled to Eva Marie that the debuting Bayley will be the next NXT Womens Champion.
NXT Championship: Finn Balor def. Tyler Breeze via DQ when Kevin Owens debuted mid-match and totally destroyed Finn Balor. Owens came in and broke up a 3 count before Balor was about to win the title. NXT ended with Owens hitting Balor with a Pop Up Powerbomb through the announce table and staring Balor down.
2 huge debuts tonight on NXT, both already hoping for championship gold.
Smackdown Tapings:
Dark Match – Stardust def. Fandango with the Queens Crossbow
Main Event show:
Kofi Kingston def. Jack Swagger with the Tomahawk Chop off the turnbuckle.
The Miz def. longtime nemesis Damien Sandow with the Skull Crushing Finale
Smackdown – 3/27/16:
Announcers: Mean Gene Okerlund, Jerry Lawler & Christian
As the show begins, Jerry Lawler informs us that Shane McMahon is in charge again tonight and he has one hell of a show in store. Including a re-match from the Raw Main Event where the Tag Team Champions Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose take on the Dudley Boyz. This time King announces, it will be a tables match. Christian reminds us how the Dudleyz no longer seem to be up to the challenge of using tables, but he expects the Dudleyz to be ready for the task tonight.
Chris Jericho comes out to cut a promo as Smackdown opens. Y2J says he is going to cut right to the chase. “The legacy of the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania is epic.” Jericho demands his match with Ziggler at Wrestlemania be a ladder match for the title. Ziggler comes out and says he accepts Jericho’s challenge even though Y2J has had a lot of demands lately. Ziggler reminds Jericho that Dolph is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion ever, and at Wrestlemania that won’t change. An angered Jericho bashes Dolph in the head with a microphone. This is shades of last week’s conclusion to Smackdown. Security and WWE agents have to break up this brawl as we go to break.
Xavier Woods & Big E (w/ Kofi Kingston) def. The Ascension when Big E pinned Konnor after a Big Splash. After the match, Rosa Mendes caught up with Ryback. The Big Guy suggested Rosa watch what he does in the ring tonight as Ryback claims we will see a Wrestlemania preview.
Mick Foley comes out on the stage after the break. He tells the WWE Universe that he has lost his mind several times in the past and he is about to do so again here tonight on Smackdown. He reminds the fans of The Rock vs. Batista showdown at Wrestlemania. Foley says he believes Batista needs a warmup match before Mania and he is going to be the guy to give Batista that match at Road Block. Foley leaves and thanks the WWE Universe who is basically in shock over this challenge.
Ryback def. Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas & Adam Rose (w/ Heath Slater) in a 3-on-1 handicap match when Ryback pinned Axel after a Shell Shock.
Paige def. Charlotte with the Rampaige. Divas Champion Natalya provided commentary at ringside. It was announced during this match that Brie Bella will face Lana at Road Block.
Erick Rowan & Bray Wyatt def. Goldust & R-Truth when Rowan hit Goldust with a Side Walk Slam.
The Usos come out and tell Ryback that anything he does, they can do better. They ask Ryback to re-consider their offer to be partners vs. New Day at Wrestlemania. The Usos def. Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus & Wade Barrett (w/ Rusev) in a 3-on-2 handicap match when an Uso pinned Barrett after a Superfly Splash.
The Dudley Boyz def. Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose in a tables match when Roman got 3-D’d through a table. It was announced during this match that the Wyatt Family will now challenge Ambrose & Reigns for the tag titles at Road Block.
Confimed for Road Block:
No. 1 Contenders Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H vs. Kane
Brock Lesnar vs. Mr. McMahon (non-title)
Tag Team Championship Match: Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt & Erick Rowan
Batista vs. Mick Foley
Thanks for reading. Feedback as always is greatly appreciated. Road Block results will be up this week. Sorry I don't have time on my schedule to take pictures. I know that would really add to visuals for my shows, but I am basically just doing fantasy booking here since my free time is limited. Road Block will be a quick show as I have one more week until my Wrestlemania.
