Picked these up today I haven't read comics in years, what are some recommendations? I'm most likely going to get the Batman: Court of Owls, City of Owls, & Death of The Family box set when it's released in September. Thats a strong boxset. I haven't read City of Owls yet, but i can attest to Court of Owls and Death of the Family as two of the absolute high points of DC's New 52 initiative. I'd also add Endgame and thr first TBP of Suicide Squad to that list of New 52 home runs. For the most part, i was underwhelmed with that era, and glad to see somewht of a return to the original continuity with Rebirth. On the Marvel side, Civil War II intrigues me enough to want to give it a shot..........Captain Hydra ,however, convinces me to savey money and just ask someone who read it whether or not its any good. Lol

ricflair4everIt (Civil War II), like Civil War I, starts off with a fairly clear question where both sides of the equation are looked at...as a fellow comic fan I'm sure there'll be more for you to dig into with it...the fact The Inhumans are involved makes it even more intriguing to me... I'm always down to see the Inhumans involved with earthly affairs. That alone compells me to look into it. Thanks for the heads up.

Picked up these variants today. The local store I buy comics from is closing down next month and the closest other shop is nearly two hours away, so I'm screwed unless I order from Amazon.

Yeah. It was okay at best. Artwork threw me off quite a bit....was quite sub-par. That seems to be the general consensus, but for what it is, I enjoyed the banter. That Beagan stuff was funny. Plus, for a series of 5, it won't drag things out too long.

I haven't ready Black Vortex, kind of just started a comic collection. My current roster is; Spider-Man 2099, my gateway comic Walking Dead Spider-Man/Deadpool
Wish I started the Carnage series, but they are so far now that jumping in would seem like a good idea.

Finished issue 3 of Civil War 2 earlier...they're definitely building to something, and I don't know if this sequel will be held in the same esteem as the original Civil War - but of course, it's early days...I'm just blown away by the amount of tie-ins... It's like Shadowland as far as tie ins. Do I really need to know what Moon Knight is doing? No. Is marvel going to create the title and hope I buy it because I like moon knight? Yeah. (Sadly I bought the series)

My current roster is; Spider-Man 2099, my gateway comic Walking Dead Spider-Man/Deadpool Wish I started the Carnage series, but they are so far now that jumping in would seem like a good idea. That's cool - I wouldn't have checked it out had it not been for a recommendation from a friend. I'm a bit of a writer, so I wrote a short story narrative and let him read it, and he compared it to The Black Vortex...upon reading them myself I can see that they're nothing alike...he just needed a point of comparison. Not a bad way to start off - can't go wrong there...I've been reading those titles in different stages myself. I did check out Carnage too - but it's not very interesting so far. Trying to find Civil War II issues online before buying. Yeah, I'm waiting out CW II until they get a graphic novel. I like the few I read now, but I think CW II would confuse me. I do like the thrill of going to the comic shop and finding new releases.
